"Where'd the car go?" The man asked, staring at the completely empty street where he swore he parked his car at.
"Maybe it got stolen?" His friend suggested as he started walking over to the street corner to look around.
The man put a hand to his head and groaned. "Shit. I just got that car a couple months ago."
And he was out of town too. This was the first time he was able to visit his friend in Yokohama and their only non-public form of transportation just got stolen.
"Phew!" His friend suddenly exclaimed from across the street. "Don't worry! It's over here." He called out to the man from the other street.
The man sighed in relief and headed over. Although, he couldn't help but wonder how it got over there.
As the man turned the corner, the sight he saw shocked him to his core. There was his car, upside-down, completely wrecked.
"What happened to my car!?" The man yelled in disbelief, hands on his head.
Despite the state of the car, his friend nonchalantly said, "Oh, don't worry. This happens sometimes. Unfortunate it had to be yours though." He winced.
The man turned to his friend with wide eyes and gave him a look as if saying 'are you crazy!?'
"W-what do you mean this happens sometimes!?" He incredulously asked him and gestured wildly to the car. "My car is upside-down on the other side of the fucking road!"
"No really." His friend put his hands up in a sort of calming gesture. "It'll be fine. Insurance should cover it. That boy from the detective agency tends to do this sometimes."
"Boy? Boy!?" The man yelled and looked at his friend like he was insane. Was this just some practical joke? "That street sign is bent in half and was ripped out the the fucking ground!" He gestured over at the destroyed sign. "No human, let alone a boy, could do this! What the hell happened here!?"
"Oh yeah, you're new here..." His friend mumbled under his breath. "I know it sounds crazy, but that boy is like, super strong. If you just tell your insurance company, it should be fine."
The man let out a couple of hysterical laughs. "Yeah, I'll just tell my insurance company that my car was thrown across the street by some boy. That'll go over well." The man said with sarcasm.
"Oh, wait." His friend mumbled to himself again. "Your insurance company isn't in Yokohama, they might not know..." He put a hand to his chin in thought. "We may have to go to the detective agency itself." He said to the man.
"What is a detective agency going to do?" The man asked. "Deduce who destroyed my car? It's not like that'll fix it." He grumbled.
"I don't exactly know but, they might be able to help. It's worth a shot." His friend said. "We should go head to the station, I think the trains should be leaving soon."
The man just sighed. "Sure... Alright... Whatever..." The man agreed in defeat.
"Hope the trains don't get hijacked by bombers again though." His friend voiced an afterthought.
