Chapter 15
The Fight, Part I
Katsuki's shackle was loose. Himiko had seen it as they walked, and she knew he felt it, and her heart had raced the entire time they talked. She didn't know who the man with Mina was, but hopefully he hadn't done anything stupid for their sake – how cruel would that be, if he blew something important to save them right before they got away?
She'd been almost glad when Iwayama hit her – it got Katsuki good and mad, and the commotion kept the guard from noticing Katsuki had jiggled his hands free.
"All right, you two, back in the cells. Sounds like you might be walking out of here, after all," Iwayama said coolly, then balked for a second as he noticed Katsuki's hands were free, but it was too late.
Katsuki tackled the guard as hard as he could, slamming his head into the ground. This didn't knock him out, and when he tried to scream, Katsuki shoved a hand over his mouth while Himiko threw herself down on Iwayama's feet to help Katsuki keep him down. "Shut up!" Katsuki hissed.
"Katsuki, use your shirt to gag him," Himiko suggested, tugging at the keys on Iwayama's belt.
Katsuki did as suggested, and even in the rush and the stress of the moment, Himiko took a second to appreciate the view before continuing on with her quest to find the key to their shackles. She found the right one and quickly unfastened her legs, then Katuski's. "I can't really do my hands …"
"I got it," he said and took the keys from her.
As soon as her hands were free, she started stripping, lifting her butt off Iwayama's legs just long enough to pull her skirt and panties off and then sitting back down hard. "What are you doing?!" Katsuki demanded.
"Trust me, it's to use my power. I might need to shackle you again." She wished he still had his power – but he was too hard to control with it, so he had taken it "for safe keeping." She was so glad he and his guards had been arrogant enough to think she wouldn't find a way to use hers. She reached for Iwayama's hand and pulled it to her mouth, and bit down as hard as she could since she didn't have anything to cut him with. Iwayama howled through the gag, Katsuki looked on in horror as she bit and bit until she tasted the little metal tang of blood (zombie movies had lied about how easy it was to bite through human flesh). Until she shifted into a copy of Iwayama, clothes and all. Then he smiled.
"Okay, that's pretty cool," he said with a fierce grin. Only Hitoshi had ever reacted like that before – it gave her butterflies.
They quickly shackled him with the shackles that had been on Himiko, which were way too small and probably hurt (good) but kept him secure, and replaced Katsuki's shirt with Himiko's socks. She stuffed her panties and bra into Katsuki's pockets, but didn't bother with the rest of her clothes.
"So are you just going to be … like … naked? Can't you make clothes?"
"No, it's my actual clothes or those of the person I'm copying," she explained, and it was disconcerting to hear Iwayama's awful voice from her own mouth. "I'll have my underwear, that's enough."
"Whatever, let's go," he said, holding his hands and feet out, knowing her ploy.
They left the conference room, making sure the actual Iwayama was out of sight of the door as they went into the hallway. Instead of heading for the cells, they headed in the opposite direction, hoping they didn't have to get through too many doors or find their way through too many nondescript halls to freedom.
The force shield rattled but held. Aizawa and Chisaki ducked, so Tenko did as well, pulling Ashido down with him. Aizawa and Chisaki rolled in opposite directions, putting themselves back into the fight to reinforce the fighters that had spilled from the ceiling. Sosaki kneeled but peeked over the table, her eyes going unfocused as Namura used her eyes for the first time. "Ashido, Shimura, go get the little girl, something's wrong," she said without moving her lips, using her quirk, presumably only to him and Ashido. Neither of them had to be told twice and rocketed out the door. Tenko pulled the first fire alarm they passed, and they ran for all they were worth.
Waiting had felt like torture. Deku's heart had raced more and more as they waited. He couldn't hear much from the floor below, even with his ear pressed against the floor. But that was why they had Mandalay … Ms. Sosaki with them, and why Hawks had given a few of his feathers away. Ms. Sosaki told them there were only two bodyguards in the room with All For One – not Kurogiri, but a blond woman and a redhead of unknown power set, but then said nothing else. "Keeping the channel open," as it were. So the only one with any clue was Hawks. Deku had watched Hawks' reaction without saying anything, just trying to interpret it. They didn't dare speak, not even in a whisper. What was he hearing? Was Eri okay, had she had to stop yet?
"GO GO GO!" the order came, and none of them hesitated. He cowled himself with One For All and stomped his way through the floor as Mr. Todoroki blasted it with fire, and everyone but Tengai followed through the hole one of the two of them had made.
All For One in this universe looked like he'd only seen him in the visions he'd had with One For All – he called on Blackwhip, tangling him in the shadowy tendrils, unsure how long this would hold if at all. A redheaded bodyguard in a black suit was sending jagged shards of ice at Chisaki while Mr. Aizawa, since Kurogiri wasn't here, kept his gaze on All For One, but Deku didn't let himself focus on anything else, just on mastering Blackwhip and keeping the struggling figure in place for even a second longer. It wasn't as hard as it should be. Yes, yes, yes! Erase kept him from using all his myriad of stolen quirks except the mutant quirks – but Deku maintained iron focus.
The blond woman opened her mouth, and a vile black liquid poured forth that he'd only seen once. "Watch out, that's a teleporting material!" he called, and Mr. Aizawa turned his gaze to her, stopping her power before she could transport anyone to or from the room.
The wait had been agonizing enough, but then Eri had been starting to struggle, visibly and audibly, and Hitoshi expected Namura to call it. "I think we're going to have to call it soon," Hitoshi had said at last, risking a whisper when Namura hadn't said anything after a few more agonizing minutes went by.
"No, we have to give them as much as we can," Namura had said, his voice sounding strangely pained, and he had stroked Eri's hair which was damp with sweat. "You've got this, darling, keep on pulling."
"Namura, she's struggling, I think we should call it," Hitoshi had said more firmly.
Namura had reached for a knife in his belt. "Don't say another word," Namura had warned, holding it out. "Eri, don't say anything, no matter what Young Shinso says," he had said, much more softly. He hadn't reached for his gun – he didn't dare fire blind while his eyes were in another room, and anyway they couldn't afford the noise. But if Hitoshi had tried to get close to take her from him by force, he had had no doubt he'd be stabbed. His heart had raced, and he'd just kept trying to use reason (or his quirk, if Namura slipped up and answered).
"Come on, man, she's been going for a while, she has to have made a dent. Look at her. Or listen to her, I guess. She's hitting every box Aizawa said to look out for. What's your boss going to do if you kill his niece?" That was when the man had looked most tempted to speak, but he kept his mouth clamped shut, but Hitoshi knew. It was his eyes Namura was using to watch what was going on upstairs, and given how the quirk worked, he was the one that saw what Hitoshi did. The tears and sweat on Eri's face, the way her little body was wracked with pain and laboring to breathe. Namura wouldn't do this if he wasn't ordered, Hitoshi could see that in the pain on his face and the gentle way he spoke to the little girl. This was her uncle's wish – her own flesh and blood had set her up for this. "Eri, you don't have to do this, you've done enough." The little girl hadn't answered, just kept straining to take as much off All For One as possible.
The fighting started with a loud crash, adrenaline kicked in. "Come on, the fight's started, we need to go …" Namura still didn't answer.
A fire alarm went off, he barely registered it.
Hitoshi braced himself, trying to figure out what angle was better to try to tackle him. His opponent was effectively blind, but he was still going to get stabbed, it was just a question of if he could get stabbed somewhere he wouldn't die and would be able to pick up the girl and run. Namura was taller than him, but gangly, and he didn't have a combat quirk …
A door slammed open behind them. "What the hell are you doing?" Shimura demanded. He and Mina tumbled in, both looking aghast at the scene.
"The boy's holding him still, we can get a few more minutes out of Eri," Namura answered.
"Eri, you've done a great job, you can go ahead and stop," Hitoshi pleaded one more time, and Namura brandished the knife.
Mina shot a stream of acid at his hand and got a direct hit. Namura yelped and dropped the knife at the same time Hitoshi lunged and grabbed Eri from him. Shimura jumped at the same time, tackling Namura to the ground and kicking the knife across the room. Mina went after him, helping hold Namura down. It was so much worse when you held her – Hitoshi could feel Eri trembling violently all over, and she was burning up. He bet if they took her temp her fever had to be at least forty degrees. "Eri, can you stop?" Hitoshi asked gently, activating his quirk for all it was worth.
"You can speak now, Eri," Shimura said authoritatively, and Mina held out her hand threateningly towards Namura's face to keep him from contradicting him.
"Eri, are you able to stop?" Hitoshi tried one more time.
"I don't think s…" her eyes went blank as their minds connected. Forget all of this and rest, he ordered her in her mind, as gently as he possibly could. Her horn stopped glowing and her hair stopped floating, falling damp with sweat against her face and she slept almost immediately, resting her head against his shoulder. Even in sleep, she trembled.
"Oh God, she's burning up," he said, letting the worry into his voice as he stood, trembling now himself with her weight and the adrenaline of what had just happened and was happening above them playing on his nerves.
Shimura's hands were shaking too, but his voice didn't shake. "We're going to get up and back out of this room, if you try to hurt us or come after us I'll …"
"I'll melt your face," Mina broke in, which was undoubtedly a more effective threat than whatever Shimura was going to say. Namura didn't say anything, but nodded.
Mina and Shimura stood, with no sign of resistance, and the four of them backed out of the room and slammed the door. As though a door would stop him if he really did come after him.
All hell was breaking loose right above their heads. "I'll take her," Shimura said, motioning to the now unconscious Eri. Hitoshi handed her over to the taller man. His shirt was damp where she'd rested against him. "I'll get her to the hospital. You two. Well. I want to tell you to go home, that's my instinct. And if anyone asks, that is what I told you. But I'm not really in a position to tell you what to do so …" Hitoshi and Mina looked at each other significantly.
Mina grabbed Hitoshi's hand and the two of them took off in the direction of the nearest stairs.
Deku was jarred to the side so violently he crashed partway through the wall, then felt a dozen sharp points of pain as something ripped through him, but he kept control of Blackwhip. "This is a power like I haven't seen in years – where have you been hiding, young man?" All For One asked, in a tone that said he suspected, his voice only a little strained as he struggled against the cords of shadow wrapped around his limbs. Deku had the distinct, sick feeling he was holding back, toying with him …
"Waiting to fight someone like you," Deku answered back, not letting the taunt break his concentration. In the corner of his eye, he saw the blond woman slump against the wall. The redheaded henchman had disappeared from sight, pursued by Chisaki and Hawks. Mr. Aizawa turned his eyes on All For One and all at once it became easier to hold him once again. Ms. Kayama stepped forward. A beam of ice shot from the other end of the room towards her, Mr. Todoroki blocked it with a stream of fire, a look of complete fury on his face. It was seconds from being over. It couldn't be going this well, it couldn't. Deku didn't let himself hope.
And it was good he didn't. The floor melted underneath them. Deku recognized the effect with a sinking feeling as he sank into the floor like it was quicksand. From somewhere out of sight, a projectile flung at inhuman speed was launched in Ms. Kayama's direction – Tengai put up a shield with a fraction of a second to spare, and it smashed into it and crashed to the ground. "You didn't think I really only brought two of my men, did you? Or that that was all of the strength I had?" All For One taunted, as he and Deku fell through the liquefied floor and the shadow lord's body began to glow.
Katsuki and Himiko were almost at the outer door. They could see the sun streaming in. It was hard not to run. "Where are you taking the kid, Iwayama?" someone called.
Himiko turned to him, forcing her best impression of Iwayama's smarmy smile. "Boss wanted to see him, so this little asshole gets to make a fieldtrip," she said carelessly, hoping Katsuki wouldn't hold it against her.
"All right. Have fun with that," the other guard said, and went on.
Then they were out the door, and realized. They were in the middle of nowhere. Himiko swore under her breath. They'd been in a concrete building surrounded by a little clearing full of cars, and then there were trees all around. They had no idea where they were.
Himiko was glad she'd thought to take all of Iwayama's keys, she dug in her fake pockets until she found one that felt like car keys. She used the clicker and the two of them headed towards the vehicle that chirped and flashed its headlights in response. "Do you even know how to drive?" Katsuki demanded.
"Uh … sort of," Himiko answered, not sure she wanted Katsuki to know the sort of life she'd lived. She actually did know – she'd learned from an older boy, and taken a few cars for joy rides both with him and on her own before Hawks convinced her to not risk going to jail for stupid stuff like that.
"Good, it'll look weird if I drive." Was that a bluff, or did he know too?
They were almost to the car when shots rang out behind them. They ducked low and ran as hard as they could, Himiko practically pulling Katsuki along since he was slowed by the shackles.
Daichi clutched his arm against his body as he stepped out of the room, intending to drag himself upstairs to see what he could do to help Chisaki. His quirk wasn't exactly great in combat, but he had a gun, maybe he'd get a lucky shot, or could let his boss see something useful.
He'd barely made it to the door when the ceiling started to warp and distort, and then All For One and Midoriya fell through. Daichi's heart lurched – Shinso and friends had grabbed Eri just in time, they'd have been right in the middle of the fight that started as soon as both their feet touched the ground. Daichi considered taking a shot, but he wasn't about to try to take on the shadow lord firing with his off hand, so he slammed the door and hurried in the opposite direction. He didn't take Chisaki's eyes again – he didn't want to risk throwing him off at a crucial moment, so he just had to guess where he was.
Shota wanted to go down after, he would as soon as at all humanly possible. But for now, there were two additional henchmen to deal with.
One of them was kneeling by the floor, touching it to produce the melting effect that had sent Midoriya and All For One crashing through. Shota shut down his quirk before anyone else could fall, now there was just the other one. The one with the ground melting quirk was a young man with wild black hair, not the teenager with a striking grin and light yellow hair Emi had drawn from Midoriya's memories – Shota swallowed his bile at knowing he was dealing with a quirk stolen from a child, and focused. He kept his eyes wide open, daring to look at the other henchman for a quick second, never blinking between them. Damn, this was hard, and he longed for the binding cloths his counterpart used to secure enemies, so he could know the ground warper was out of action … "Aizawa, Todoroki and Kayama have these two, Hawks and Chisaki have the redhead, go help the boy," Sosaki's voice rang in his head.
But no sooner had she given that order, than an explosion rocked the building directly under them.
Deku was falling through the air, head over heels, ears ringing, trying to orient himself in the air, if he could aim Air Force at the ground he might be able to use the kickback to break his fall, or since All For One had this idea, he had a flight or gravity quirk he was planning to use, if he caught him with Blackwhip once more he could keep himself in the air …
He found himself sliding into that strange space he had before, when Shinso had brainwashed him and when he'd learned to use Blackwhip …
And the torchbearer that appeared to him most clearly was Nana Shimura, strong and beautiful.
Her grandson looked so much like her, he thought with a clenched heart as he looked into her face. "I think it's time you learned Float, Young Midoriya," she said brightly.
"Hawks! Get to the kid, out the window," Sosaki's voice rang in his head.
"On it," he said out loud, though he knew it was no use, turning on his heel. Chisaki could handle the ice guy … or at least, Keigo hoped he could.
He threw a window open, glad it wasn't locked, and stumbled out onto the ledge, and caught sight of the kid just … floating in mid air, drifting slowly downwards. That was the good news – the bad news was he seemed unconscious. Meanwhile, the shadow lord was most of the way to the ground, having glided on creepy flesh wings extending from his arms. Without hesitation, Keigo dropped from the ledge, letting his wings catch the air, heading for the boy.
Panic was breaking out on the streets, and that explosion had definitely alerted more followers – that was the other bad news, but the objective had to be to get to All For One.
Himiko threw Katsuki into the passenger side and scrambled over him into the driver's seat, heedless to kicking him several times on the way. "Watch it!" he snapped as he slammed the door behind them, she was already shoving the keys into the ignition. The key didn't want to turn for a sickening second. And then the engine roared to life and she backed out, barely looking behind her as she did.
She tore through the parking like a bat out of hell, extremely grateful there was no fence. They'd been so sure no one would ever get out of the building, and had probably relied on the remoteness of the location if they did. In the truck's headlights she could just make out a narrow dirt road, she drove for it, assuming it was the only way out.
Iwayama, bless him, had an almost full gas tank. She floored it as soon as they were on the road, driving the truck as hard as she could, hoping they came to a fork or something – she didn't care if she got them lost driving further into the middle of nowhere, she just needed to lose the guards.
Katsuki was fumbling with Iwayama's phone, which was blaring some kind of message, trying to get it open.
She was losing her grip on his form, so let it go everywhere but her right hand. "Hold it up," she said, pressed her finger to the fingerprint pad. Katsuki pulled it back, and she let it go all together. She wished she'd had time to adjust the mirrors and the seat for her height, but she'd just have to deal.
"Crap! He's calling everyone to him, damn it … whatever that guy on the phone did, I think he screwed it up," Katsuki said, half to himself, as it was only a little shouted.
"Or did it exactly right, if he was enough of a threat to call everyone," Himiko said hopefully.
Katsuki was typing something frantically on the phone.
"What are you doing?" she demanded.
"I'm responding, it's an automatic message but I'm sending a message to everyone in his contacts … saying it's a false alarm, a trap, and no one should go."
He was smart too! That probably wouldn't fool anyone, at least not for long, but it might cause just enough confusion to buy someone a few minutes.
"After you do that, throw the phone out the window, they'll track us."
"I'm calling 110 first."
He wasn't that smart. "No! Don't you dare! You should know you can't trust the police."
"Then who do we call, genius?"
"I don't know! Your parents?!"
He didn't say anything – he'd finished whatever message he had sent to Iwayama's contacts, but he hadn't started dialing. "You don't know their number, do you?"
"It was always in my phone why the hell would I know it?!"
She groaned. "Search for SDMR helpline. If location's on, it'll show us the nearest branch. Call them and let them know, then throw the phone."
"How will the people you want us to call find us if …"
"They won't, but if we know where we are, we'll find them eventually, and they'll be able to send people to let your parents know you're alive."
"What about you?"
"Just do it."
Deku came back to his all too terrifying reality as his feet touched the ground. Hawks' hand was on his shoulder. "How many quirks you got, kid?" he asked, incredulous.
"Uh … It'll be seven, once I can use them all, that was the first time using that one," Deku explained in a shaky whisper. It would be a while before he could use it properly, but it had saved his life, and given Hawks the chance to bring him down safely, a good distance away from All For One, who was already standing, ready for more, and away from the stream of fleeing bystanders.
Deku gathered himself – this was it. He didn't know if Mr. Aizawa was going to be able to keep an eye on him from where he was, what the situation was like inside, he had to be prepared to fight All For One, with every stolen quirk.
Or, not every one. The white-haired man extended a hand towards him menacingly, and nothing happened. He stared at his hand in confusion for a moment, then confusion turned to fury. "What did you do?" he demanded.
Thank you, Eri, for however much you were able to do. Deku didn't answer, only called on Blackwhip once more.
Most people were running downstairs and away from the building, only people supporting one side or the other had gone up.
Including the massive man whose muscles seemed to be on the outside who ran reached the tenth floor not long after Hitoshi and Mina did. "Hey, whose side are you on?" Hitoshi called.
"Who do you think, kid?" the man taunted, and then his jaw went slack and his eyes blank.
You go back the way you came and wreck as much shit for All For One's people trying to get to their master as you can, Hitoshi ordered. On the off chance he was on their side, hopefully he wouldn't mind the little extra encouragement.
Blindly, he walked past them, heading back down, and Hitoshi and Mina scrambled into the tearoom.
It had been badly damaged, with multiple massive holes in the floor, and several bad guys were already incapacitated. A woman with spiked black hair was helping the teacher who'd warned Hitoshi what quirk exhaustion looked like to his feet and letting him lean on her – one foot was badly, bloodily mangled. "I have to be closer," he said, barely loudly enough for Hitoshi to hear.
A brown haired woman turned her eyes on them, but looked away for a second like she was talking to someone else, but she didn't look at anyone in the room and her lips never moved. "I told you to go," she snapped at them, after she said what she needed to whoever she was talking to in her mind.
"I already turned one guy back down to stop others from coming," Hitoshi said defensively, which might be a bit of a misnomer if he'd accidentally sent away an ally.
"Well you need to go too, either get out of here or get onto the street, that's where the back-ups going to be going now that the fight's down there."
"Yes, go," the teacher said, echoing, and well … they did want to be near the fight.
Tensei had put his badge around his neck again and was using the opportunity to direct the foot traffic away from the hotel, even as he listened on the walkie talkie and kept his eyes peeled for anyone heading the opposite direction. "Iida, we need a speedster, tenth floor, now, to get Aizawa down to the street. Watch your step when you get here, a huge chunk of the floor's gone," he heard a woman's voice say, as clear as day, but no one around him had spoken. It had to be Sosaki.
He looked ahead for the clearest path, kneeling into a running position.
Fighting the stream of people had been difficult … until Mirio started to use his quirk. It was terrifying letting people pass through him, and even more to leave his friends behind, and he'd managed to lose his shirt in the process so far, he was close to the area where the fight was unfolding, maybe he could even help directly …
There was someone else heading the same direction, and he didn't recognize them. "Hey!" he called. The man whirled on him, and lifted his arms to reveal that he had drills made of bone and flesh for hands, which were currently whirring menacingly, sending people who had been walking briskly in neat lines running in messy lines.
If it weren't for the people so close by, Mirio would have been relieved – he was meant for this. The drill man couldn't hurt him, not the way he could everyone else. "Come on tough guy," he said, trying to think how he could push him back from the crowd.
Deku wasn't quick enough with Blackwhip – he missed, and immediately, a whole slew of quills were shot at Deku and Hawks. Deku sprinted, using One For All to grant him the strength to push Hawks to the ground at superhuman speeds so they both dodged, but only just. "Very versatile power you have there, young man – I would so love to add it to my collection," All For One taunted.
"Then come get it!" Deku called, leaving Hawks behind, hoping the vigilante would retreat while he kept All For One's focus on him, trying to get around him for another pass with Blackwhip.
Only for All For One to move inhumanly fast and sucker punch him with a massive hand – Eri hadn't reversed enough time to take that one away from him. Deku crumpled – he didn't feel anything break yet, but he was winded, and that was dangerous. He forced himself to stand, to run anyway, even while his diaphragm spasmed. "Tell me – did it come from me? Or, well, my counterpart in your world. So many quirks in one body – it shouldn't be possible."
Deku didn't tell him anything, only turned on his heel and sent Blackwhip out again. This time he didn't miss. "I have to admit I missed out on your little manga at first, but once the possibility of alternate worlds was brought to my attention, I did take a quick look at it. I'm sure in time I'll figure out where all those wonderful quirks are and who currently has them. Well, the ones I don't already have," he said, in his horrible, almost playful tone. Deku tasted bile, but he didn't let his focus break, he kept his grip, willing the tendrils to cover every inch of him he could see. "Tell me, does Tenko Shimura know who he is in your world? If I'd realized he had such wonderful villainous potential, I would have kept him." Deku wanted to know how he knew, but he didn't rise to the bait …
A painful jolt went through his body, and Deku lost control of his muscles, and he let go. … Was that Kaminari's? No, surely Eri had managed to take them back at least fifteen years, it couldn't be …
Little red feathers cushioned his fall and pulled him back. "I'll thank you to stop interfering, Hawks, I'll be there to steal your wonderful talent in just a moment," All For One said evenly, and even as he spoke, he sent dangerous tendrils from his fingers – or were they his fingers, stretching endlessly – to pierce Hawks' abdomen before either of them could move.
"No!" Deku shouted, and was immediately thrown back by a heavy shockwave, tumbling back head over heels.
With the press of the crowd, Tenko hadn't gotten far from the building. No one seemed to question him carrying a little girl, but of course everyone's attention was otherwise occupied.
Eri's shivering and sweating wasn't as violent as it had been when he first took her from Shinso, but she hadn't woken up and she was still burning up.
He felt like he'd swallowed a cup full of hot lava. He was the one that had agreed to Chisaki's plan to use her, he'd pushed Midoriya to accept it. He was supposed to protect meta kids – what a joke. She was vulnerable, and he'd hung her out to dry.
The foot traffic ground to a halt and everyone was pressed together, pushing Eri further into him, and she groaned a little in her sleep. "Hold on, hold on, we're going to get you help, you'll be okay," he whispered, even though he was sure she couldn't hear or understand.
The heavy whir of a helicopter's blades reverberated overhead – Tenko turned to look overhead.
Press helicopter. They'd gotten here quick.
Several screams rang through the crowd, and the press of people began to move. Tenko went with them, just glad to be heading to the hospital no matter the speed.
As they came around the building, he could make out a horrifying scene between the hotel building he'd just left and the adjacent buildings. Midoriya was out of the building, surrounded by rubble, fighting to get to his feet in front of All For One, who was standing tall, seeming uninjured. A few feet away from them, Hawks was kneeling, in what condition Tenko couldn't say from this distance.
Tenko's knees were water, but he ran on, pressed by the crowd, sure his heart would just stop any minute.
Oh God, oh God, what had he done?
Up next: The Fight, Part II
Things are looking grim, but Team Deku is still fighting. What will happen next?
Author's Note
I am not sure if the manga has explored the origin of Jonny's quirk so I may be way off of canon there, but I was just amused by the idea of All for One giving a quirk like that to a beautiful woman.
ALSO: On very brief hiatus. I was trying to do my final proof and realized I needed some pretty major rewrites, and I want to make sure I give myself the time to give the story it's due and unfortunately work is a nightmare at the moment. When I resume posting, there will be one chapter a day until it's completed.
