Harry's home was quiet at the moment, well as quiet as it could be considering the situation. Jones was at Saint Mungo's getting her treatment. On top of that, Harry could only imagine the chaos that place was at the moment with the number of civilian injuries and Aurors they had to take in. Harry wasn't sure of the casualty list just yet but he hoped it wasn't long but he realistically knew that not everyone made it out of that fight with their lives.
He was thankful however to see his friends had. Neville and Blaise both came back a bit scrapped up but nothing life-threatening. Blaise however looked quite shaken Harry wasn't sure why but after he got patched up he found Luna and left to talk to her.
Neville was resting with Tracey and the rest of Dumbledore's old order members were recouping here as well. Amelia had stayed behind with Sirius to help the goblins clean up along with a few of the Aurors. As fate would have it most of his friends and girlfriends' families also arrived. Not the best time to receive his new house guests but he had Dobby and the other elves help them get settled in.
"Harry, I just got word from Saint Mungo's that Jones has been discharged," Remus said walking up to him Harry sighed and nodded a small smile finding its way to his face.
"Thanks, Remus, she'll be here soon then?" Harry asked and the old werewolf nodded.
"Yes, Amelia and Sirius should be finishing up soon as well."
"Good I need to talk for them... have you slept yet?" Harry asked, it might've been mid-day but a lot of them had forgone sleep that night. Remus sighed and shook his head.
"You should go sleep," Harry said and Remus just nodded.
"Yeah I think I will, you did good Harry. Your parents would be very proud." Remus said lightly patting Harry on the shoulder as Harry nodded. Harry then went up to his room where he found Hermione and Daphne sleeping. He was a bit confused last night as to why they were so overly tired but he got his answer when Daphne gave them all a once-over.
As it turns out learning how to cast magic like he could put a strain on their bodies. It did for him as well but his core took the strain better than theirs did. In the heat of the moment with all the adrenaline running through their system they didn't even notice. But after they got back they felt it hit them like a train.
Susan hadn't suffered the same exhaustion seeing as she was focused on her Necromancy. But even still Harry was worried as even he didn't feel this tired while training with his Grimoire. Sure he felt tired but he was often able to bounce back relatively normally.
The only time he could recall where he overdid it was when he performed the Protego Diabolica spell for the first time. Remembering that moment he flexed his hand his spell burn still scared on his flesh. Harry took a deep breath as he focused his eye and saw the girl's auras. To his eye, they didn't look damaged but he also noticed they hadn't changed much.
It might be because they were asleep but overall he would see that their auras looked mostly the same. He expected them to grow at least a little but they hadn't. But then again it was too soon to tell, the Grimoire chose him for a reason. He assumed largely it was his willingness to learn the magics within its pages but perhaps it was also about his innate ability to use the kind of magics the book held.
That begged the question what would his girls be able to learn? Harry sighed he wished they had more time but with this battle, Tom would not be waiting any longer. They have another Horcrux and if Harry was counting it up correctly then that means that there were only two left. He'd need to check with McGonagall and see if she had made any headway with Dumbledore's notes.
"Harry," He heard Susan and stepped back and closed the door before turning to her. "Are they still asleep?" Susan asked and Harry nodded.
"Yeah out like a light," Harry said and Susan sighed.
"I didn't think that using magic like you do would take so much out of them," Susan said and Harry nodded.
"Yeah, I mean I felt tired when I first started but I never felt so exhausted that I slept for over twelve hours," Harry said as they walked together.
"We'll check on them when they wake up. But I wanted to tell you that Jones is on her way and Amelia and Sirius are going to be coming with her."
"Good, we need to talk about our next steps Riddle knows we have a Horcrux which means he'll be trying to protect the last two."
"I can contact McGonagall and see if she's discovered anything new from Dumbledore's notes." Susan offered and Harry smiled at her.
"Thank you," Harry said and she gave him a gentle kiss. As she walked off he looked back into the room he couldn't shake the worry. Maybe he could call Poppy to take a look at them and see if there is something Daphne may have missed. For now, he closed the door and took to walking about the halls to think.
Riddle had attacked the Bank to retrieve one of his Horcruxes. The new alliance with the Goblins forced Riddle's hand in that. But now that his DeathEaters failed he knew that Riddle would assume that they had discovered his Horcuxes after the battle.
That means that he would check on the others and when he did he would find the Ring gone, along with the locket wherever he hid it to begin with. Which meant he'd be going for his other Horcruxes so that meant Harry and his allies had to pick up their pace and find them.
The minutes passed and after a while Harry found his way back to the main hall. And just in time too as he found Amelia and Sirius standing waiting at the activated Floo flames. Upon seeing them Harry rushed forward and hearing his approach Sirius turned.
"Are you two doing alright?" Harry asked.
"I should be asking you that pup, how are the girls," Sirius said patting Harry on the shoulder.
"Daphne and Hermione are still sleeping, Susan's contacting McGonagall right now."
"McGonagall? Why?" Sirius asked but was interrupted by Amelia.
"Gentlemen, she's coming through," Amelia said and both of them turned back to the flames just in time to see Jones stepping through. Harry's breath hitched slightly seeing her a bandage wrapped around her head diagonally to form a medical eye patch. But still, he saw a jagged scar that reached her jaw. She wore a new set of clothes, her old ones were most likely in the bag she carried.
"Jones," Harry called and the girl's good eye found him and she sighed.
"Don't look at me like that, I lost my eye not my life," Jones said going to tuck some hair behind her ear but her bandages didn't allow it so it just fell back into place. Harry felt his urge to comfort her but this was Jones. She hated to be coddled and she was stubborn what she needed wasn't a gentle hand telling her everything would be alright. She needed some normalcy.
"You know if you wanted to copy my scarred face look we could've just asked you didn't have to make it so dramatic." Harry scoffed and Amelia and Sirius looked at him surprised. Jones did to her one eye widening for a moment before a grin split her face and she lunged forward. It was a bit awkward given her depth perception was a bit off. But she still got a grip on him and held him fast in a headlock.
"Just don't be jealous when I pull it off better than you did!" She said as Harry wriggled to get out of her grip.
"As if!" Harry said back finally getting out of her grip and the two shared a small laugh. Amelia shook her head and Sirius laughed heartily at the two.
"Is everyone else alright?" Jones asked and Harry nodded.
"Yes, a little banged up in some parts and exhausted in others. Their families have arrived and are settling in everyone is mainly just resting." Harry explained and Jones nodded taking a deep breath.
"Yes take this time to find some rest of your own Jones," Amelia said but Harry should have known she would disagree. And Jones did just that shaking her head.
"No, I'll get something to eat but I slept enough in that Hospital bed. What we need to do is figure out what we are going to do next. Riddle isn't going to take this lying down." Jones said.
"Yeah, he knows for sure now that we are after his Horcruxes. We need to figure out what the last two are and destroy them, then it's his turn. Susan is already contacting McGonagall." Harry said and the two adults looked at each other and Amelia just nodded.
"Very well, you're right Riddle won't wait for us to recoperate. He was desperate to attack the Goblin bank and now that he's failed in that endeavor he'll be even more desperate to protect the rest of his Horcruxes." Amelia said and that's when the Floo flames flared to life again.
The group turned and saw McGonagall step out but not alone, Severus Snape was just a step behind her. Snape looked around saw Sirius and scoffed.
"Well well, Snivilius." Sirius said a grin in place.
"We have news, mutt." The Professor said and McGonagall just sighed at the two.
"Susan sent Dobby to inform us of the situation. We decided to come right away. It's good to see you, Harry, Jones... oh dear." McGonagall said taking notice of Jones's injury Jones just waved her off.
"I'm still the prettiest Witch in Britain, But what's the news?" Jones asked.
"Well, when Dobby gave us the letter from Susan I found it interesting that this Horcrux was a Hogwarts Relic. You see through the notes from Dumbledore there was a theory he had that Riddle was selecting Items that held significance to him. His Diary and family ring for example. But also Hogwarts as it was, at least in Dumbledore's eyes, Riddle's first true home."
"Well, we have three of the Relics already, what's the last one?" Harry asked.
"Ravenclaw's Diadem, but it has been lost." Amelia supplied most Hogwarts Alumni knew of the Hogwarts relics.
"Yes, but as she said no one alive has seen it not since it was lost."
"Well if Riddle found it then is there any clue as to where he may have hidden it?" Sirius asked.
"No, the Dark Lord is less than forthcoming with that secret. But I do know what the last Horcrux is." Snape said as all eyes turned to him.
"Do share," Sirius said and Snape sniffed.
"His Familiar, Nagini. When the assault on the Bank failed I observed him placing numerous protections on his serpent. That leads me to believe he has made her his last Horcrux." Snape explained his eyes glancing at the clock on the wall.
"I must go the Dark Lord has called a meeting, with this latest defeat he has become unhinged," Snape said turning on his heel.
"He was already unhinged, is it safe for you to be there? That Demon of his could crack open your skull and see your memories." Sirius said.
"The Dark Lord trusts me mutt, he has no reason to turn his creature on me," Snape replied.
"Go Severus, we need to know his next move, and with Narcissa seeking sanctuary you are the last spy we have left," Amelia said and Snape said nothing in return and simply left through the Floo flames.
"So we confirmed one and can only hope that we are right for the other." Sirius surmised.
"I've looked through these notes several times Sirius, this is the most likely option. But even still it doesn't matter if we can't find it."
"If I am being honest I believe Riddle is the least of our concerns at the moment. That Demon would've killed us all down in the vaults had Jones not saved us. It needs to be dealt with before Riddle."
"I already got a plan, I just need to lure the Demon out and find a way to bind it for a moment," Jones said.
"You can leave that to us." The group turned and saw Susan standing there Daphne and Hermione at her sides.
"You two finally woke up!" Harry said approaching them.
"Yes though I still feel rather tired, was it like this for you?" Hermione asked.
"Actually no, I felt tired but nearly as bad as you two seem to be," Harry said and used his eye again to look at their Aura. Now that they were awake he saw they were more active but remained largely unchanged since the last time he saw them.
"What did you mean leave it to you?" Amelia said getting them back on topic.
"Susan has a ritual that should be able to bind the Demon for a few moments at least. With Hermione and I helping we can extend that time and give Jones her chance to do what she needs to." Daphne said and Harry narrowed his eyes.
"You four are not doing this alone, I want you to have proper support, I'll come as well."
"Of course, but first we need to get the Basilisk skeleton," Susan said and Harry nodded and called Dobby. After a quick word, the Elf popped away to speak to Saurfang.
"Good now how are we going to get the two away from each other?" Sirius asked.
"We'll have to wait and hear what Severus reports with, and plan around it," McGonagall stated.
"If we must wait then let's not waste time. I can supply some force to help you find the Diadem you just need to point them in the proper direction." Amelia offered.
"Oh? Are you looking for something?" Again the group turned and saw Blaise, Luna, Tracey, and Neville approaching them. It was Luna who asked the question and after a quick look, Harry saw that she was holding Blaise's hand. He glanced back up and smirked at his friend who rolled his eyes in response.
"Yes Ravenclaws Diadem." Harry said and Luna nodded.
"Oh, why not ask the Grey Lady?" Luna suggested and Harry looked to the others. He knew of the Grey Lady, she was the Ravenclaw house ghost like nearly headless Nick was to Gryffindor. But why would she know?
"Helena? She has always been very secretive about it she hasn't told a soul."
"Are we sure? Because if the notes and your theory are right then Riddle found it and he'd have to have learned it from somewhere." Harry said and McGonagall's expression turned sour.
"Surely not, why would she-"
"Riddle was different when he was younger, or at least not as obviously vile," Harry said remembering the young version of Riddle he met with the Diary incident.
"We shouldn't waste any time then. Harry and I will go with you to Hogwarts while Susan, Daphne, Hermione, and the rest of you wait here for the Skeleton to get here and give Susan all the help she needs. Agreed?" Jones said and they looked at each other and nodded.
"Jones maybe you should stay and get something to eat at least. You were just released after all." Sirius said but Jones shook her head.
"If we're right about this then we can destroy another Horcrux then I'll eat when we get back. I'd rather not waste any time, Headmistress?" Jones gestured to the Floo and after tossing the powder in the Flames came to life and she stepped through.
"Don't strain yourself and don't try anything I've taught you. I'll bring Poppy back with me to give you a once over."
"Doubting my skills already?" Daphne said in mock hurt Harry just shook his head.
"Not even a little but I just want to be sure. I don't know how this magic will affect you." Harry said and Daphne just sighed giving him a light kiss. Hermione and Susan followed soon after and Harry joined Jones through the Floo.
Stepping out they were in the Headmistress's office and Harry noticed that the decor had changed greatly. The Headmaster and Headmistress portraits were still hung with the exclusion of Dumbledore. But the flowing curtains and fanciful furniture had all been changed out. Now it was filled with bits and bobs and chalkboards. If anything it looked more like McGonagall's transfiguration classroom but as an office.
The biggest change was as orb in the upper level above where McGonagall sat. It shifted from every so often its surface depicting different imagery as it spun lazily. The imagery could be anything from natural vistas and animals to depictions of historical events or locations. Harry couldn't even begin to guess what else it could do but that is not what they were here for.
"The Grey Lady should be haunting near the Ravenclaw tower. Come along." McGonagall said leading the two out of the office. As they walked Harry felt a great sense of comfort seeing the familiar halls of the castle. But it was rather eerie since it was practically deserted besides the odd Hogwarts elf they saw here and there keeping things tidy.
"It's so quiet," Harry said his voice carrying along with their echoing footsteps.
"Yes, when the students are here for term it is a lovely place but even I feel odd when the castle is so empty. It almost feels like Hogwarts is sad during the Summer at times." McGonagal said and Harry could believe that with all that could occur in these walls, it felt like the castle was alive.
"You haven't had any issues, have you?" Jones asked and Harry noticed how she would walk oddly veering off to the side before righting herself. The loss of her eye was going to take some getting used to.
"None, Hogwarts is one of the safest places in all of Britain's wards are ancient much like your Keeps are. The same can be said for the Ministry, there is a reason they use enchanted flying papers and owls instead of elves. Our elves are keyed to our wards so they can come and go as necessary." McGonagall said and Harry knew as much.
The walk through the quiet castle was no less odd as Harry half expected to see chattering students any moment but none were there. McGonagall was right there was a somber atmosphere when the castle was empty and he could feel it.
"Are many students returning for this semester?" Harry asked and McGonagall nodded.
"Yes and many of them have expressed a desire to have their families join them here. The Castle is large and we can find suitable accommodations for them but it will make class life rather interesting." McGonagall said and Harry remembered that conversation many people were seeking asylum during this war either here or at the Ministry.
"Here we are," McGonagall said as they approached the Ravenclaw tower.
"Helena!" McGonagall called but nothing but her voice answered her in echo. She tried again but still, no reply, and Jones growled and brandished the elder wand which caught McGonagall's eye.
"Spritum Revelio!" She cast and a ghostly blue light erupted in waves crashing over the area. And to her eyes, a silvery female figure was illuminated just above them past the ceiling.
"We can see you Grey Lady come down we need to talk!" Jones called and the figure didn't respond instead floating away. Now Harry was getting annoyed they didn't have time to waste.
"Demona... seek," Harry commanded, and his Hellhound lept from his shadow into a dark corner in the hall. They heard a muffled snarl above them as the figure stopped its movement and began to drift backward.
"Helena come down now!" McGonagall said with authority, dealing with ghosts was always a bother because they are dead they don't have much care for the living anymore. Except for headaches like Peeves.
The silvery figure halted before melting through the floor phasing through it. Harry only saw her a few times but she was a beautiful woman though just like he remembered she had that high-strung atmosphere about her.
"Headmistress," Helena said with a small bow of her head.
"Helena we must ask you something of great importance, about your mother's diadem," McGonagall said and the corridor got suddenly cold as Helena's face twisted into a scowl.
But the cold didn't last as a sudden warmth and growl chased the cold away. The heavy steps of Demona approached and Harry didn't need to look behind him he could see the red glow and the flecks of Hellflame that flickered past him like sparks from a campfire.
"I have nothing to say about that." Helena denied turning away.
"Helena we just need to know if you told anyone about it. Another student years ago." Harry called out making the ghost pause he noticed the slight shutter and the regret that passed in her eyes.
"Helena please," McGonagall pleaded and Helena got visibly uncomfortable drawing her arms up and her expression became somber.
"He... he was so different... so charming and he seemed like he truly understood."
"Helena, was it Riddle?" Harry asked but he was pretty sure it was.
"Yes... but he lied to me."
"He's lied to a lot of people my dear." McGonagall offered and Helena suddenly surged forward in a whisp of movement.
"I know what he's done! I know he lied!" The ghost wailed and Demona took a quick step forward and growled in warning as Helena floated away.
"Helena when you told him he found it, he twisted it. We need to know if you have any idea where it could be?" Harry asked placating Demona as he did. Helena's somber expression returned as she began to float away.
"He was a student still... he hid it here in the Castle," Helena said as her form flickered.
"Where?" Jones yelled.
"The place where all lost things arrive at Hogwarts." With those final words, Helena vanished but she said enough and Harry immediately knew where it was.
"The Room of Requirement! Where else would he hide it! Come on." Harry said taking both Jones and McGonagall by the hand and they melted into shadow. They reappeared in the hall where the room would appear.
"That was, quite strange," McGonagall stated shaking her head and Jones just shrugged. Harry went up to the unassuming wall and with one thought in mind, he paced in front of it three times. Where the Diadam is hidden, he repeated that phrase in his head over and over as he walked.
Eventually, after the third time, the wall began to shift and warp forming a large set of old dark oak doors. With a shove Harry forced the doors open, and with a creaky groan, they swung heavily. The small group stepped through and were greeted by what could only be described as towers and mountains of odd items from chairs and desks, to globes and dressers. Any bauble you could imagine was most likely in this room.
Without wasting a moment Harry reached out with his hand his magic stretching forward and he could feel all the magic permeating through the room. Odd relics here and there some felt old others and others small and fanciful. But he didn't feel any spike of sickly cold like with the others.
"I don't sense it," Harry said and Jones quickly cast a lumos spell and used the power of the elder wand to brighten it before flinging the glowing orb up illuminating the room more. It was there that the group realized just how massive this place was.
"We might have to look around a bit," Jones said and Harry nodded before hopping on Demona's back as she began to pad through the room. Jones and McGonagall made to follow but Jones suddenly got lightheaded and McGonagall had to support her.
"Easy there, here sit," McGongall said summoning one of the many chairs in the room.
"Just got a little lightheaded nothing to worry about," Jones said as Harry looked back with concern. "I'm fine Scarhead, go on," Jones said and Harry gave her a smile.
"Whatever you say Scarface." Harry shot back and with a meaningful look to McGonagall Demona and he bounded away in search of their goal.
"My dear you should've stayed and gotten some proper rest," McGonagall said and despite wanting to deny it she was right. The healers did the best they could but with the supernatural venom that the demon excreted, they had cut away a lot of her face. She hadn't seen it and she was assured that while the scar was unsightly they had masterfully saved the rest of her face and used special grafts to heal the removed bits.
But still, she felt it throb under her bandages a pulsing dull pain. But it wasn't just her face that was wounded it was her mind. She could still feel it, that monster in her head. When it broke down her defenses when it invaded her mind she heard something.
Like every fear she's ever had laid bare and a thousand, no millions of tortured souls screaming at her. Pleading for mercy or begging for death she could still hear them. And something spilled into her head it was a small trickle of Vahlkiels mind and it was just empty.
Jones had felt others' minds before she had felt every emotion when she trained her Legillimency skills. But Vahlkiels mind... she couldn't comprehend it it was like staring into a void and all that she got was screams. There wasn't even fear but why would Vahlkiel feel fear, he was fear.
The Demon had left a mark on Jones and it was more than just physical. She would push through though if Harry could come back from the dead then she could deal with this experience. She'd just have a hard time sleeping from now on.
"I found it!" the two women heard Harry shout and Jones took a deep breath and stood. It was a bit of a walk where the two women had to traverse around piles of items. McGonagall even found an old bag she lost while she was still a student. But they reached Harry and found him looking at a precarious spire of furniture that looked like it might topple at the slightest touch.
"It's in here I can sense it."
"Well let's get it then," Jones said but Harry stopped her.
"Wait, I doubt Riddle would just bury it under some garbage and do nothing else," Harry said as he reached out his magic again but only felt the sickly sting of the Horcrux. No enchantments or protections around it, but maybe the Horcrux was distracting him.
"Professor?" Harry asked and McGonagall stepped forward brandishing her wand and with a couple of swishes and mumbling incantations.
"All I feel is a dark magic," McGonagall said and Harry nodded as he approached. The Horcrux from what he could feel was in a cabinet he could just barely make out from the stacked chairs, surrounding it like a wooden cage. Taking out their wands the trio made quick work of removing the chairs. Once the cabinet was exposed he reached forward and opened the door finding a featureless bust with the Diadam atop its head.
It was a brilliant silver color almost chrome with its fine polish. Decorated intricately with ornate engravings several sapphire inlays and three large sapphires in the front. The three larger sapphires were mounted on a protrusion that formed the eagle symbol of Ravenclaw house.
"It's beautiful." Harry heard McGonagall say and he turned to see her eyes had dilated.
"Professor don't touch it," Harry said stepping in front of her and she looked down at him.
"It's a lost relic of Hogwarts Harry, I am allowed to marvel at it."
"You can marvel later professor, come on now it has a compulsion on it." Harry protested keeping his Professor back. Thankfully Jones came over and gripped McGonagall by the arms.
"Just destroy it and let's go!" Jones said but that was the wrong thing to say as Suddenly McGonagall looked wild and wide-eyed.
"No, You can't destroy it!" She cried whatever compulsion was on the thing working overtime to protect itself. In a surprising show of strength from the elderly woman McGonagall freed her wand arm and with a flick sent Jones flying back.
"Professor stop!" Harry yelled brandishing his wand but McGonagall was quick as with a twirl of her wand the charis they had removed morphed into a swarm of swallows. Harry covered his face as the birds flapped around him screeching and pecking at him.
Jones quickly got on her feet and sent a stunner at McGonagall who blocked it with a shield. McGonagall then transfigured an entire pile of debris into a single entity. At first, it was an amalgamation but it seemed to melt into itself forming a coherent body. The form of a large wooden panther with glowing yellow eyes.
It bared its fangs in a snarl as the large cat lunged at Jones who dove out of the way. All around McGonagall was showing just how incredible and terrifying Transfiguration could be. Every stack of rubbish with a flick of her wand became different forms of large felines. Lions, Jaguars, Leopards. She brought them to life and in a show of exemplary skill puppeteered them masterfully.
"Demona!" Harry called as his hound read his intent and went to support Jones. Her aim was off and with her lost eye she was fighting with a blind spot she wasn't used to covering.
Harry spotted McGonagall turn and go for the Diadem picking it up so he had to think fast.
"Accio!" He called but he knew it wouldn't work on a Horcrux but it could work on McGonagall's sleeve. Her arm flung to the side the Diadam being wrenched loosed from her hand at the sudden motion.
It went sailing on the floor and McGonagall scowled at him as she directed a few of her wooden felines at him. With a quick snap a burst of Hellfire incinerated the swallows around him. He fired a bolt of lightning at a Lion that lept at him blowing its head apart. But regardless its body still moved causing him to dive out of the way.
"Protego Diabolica!" He cast drawing a circle of azure flames around him which lashed out at the approaching felines. Then with a swish of his wand, he directed the flames towards the Diadem directing them to destroy the Horcrux inside it.
He heard McGonagall cry out in protest as the skeletal head of the Purgatory beast engulfed the tiara. He heard a scream and black smoke poured out from his beast's mouth as the diadem fell from it. His beast continued to thrash like a predator that had caught a prey item. The scream continued but with a final snap of its jaws, the soul piece was destroyed.
When that happened McGonagall shook her head a fog lifting from her mind as she quickly froze her creations.
"Harry, Jones! I am so sorry... I didn't-" McGonagall began but Harry just shook his head.
"It's alright Professor the magic of the Horcrux is strong, nothing to apologize for. But I must say that you are quite amazing. How come we never learned any of this in your class!?" Harry said gesturing to the now frozen wooden statues of giant cats. McGonagall just laughed as Jones joined the two with Demona.
"This is quite advanced Mister Potter, perhaps in your sixth year," McGonagall said as she looked towards the Diadem with a shiver.
"And then there was one," Jones said picking up the tiara and examining it. She then walked over and gave it to McGonagall.
"Not really my style put it in a nice case." She said and McGonagall sighed and nodded.
"I'll send the other two back to you, all four Hogwarts treasures reunited," Harry said and the trio left the room of requirement. All that was left was Nagini once she was gone then Voldemort would be as Killable as the rest of them. Of course that was only after Jones called upon death to take care of the Demon.
Speaking of, at the moment Voldemort paced in his meeting hall. His most loyal followers sitting there but to his annoyance, many of the seats were left empty. Bellatrix and the Lestrange brothers were in captivity and several others. Lucius was gone his wife and son in hiding several of his most important financiers were arrested alongside him.
And what's worse is that with Bellatrix's failure at Gringotts, those fools surely discovered his Horcruxes. He had already sent Vahlkiel out to ensure the security of the others. But his Demon brought ill news. So now he walked none of his gathered followers, what few were there, had the courage to speak up, save one.
"My Lord, what is our next step?" Snape asked sitting there full Occlumency shields up and as stoic as a stone. Voldemort turned and regarded the man with a sneer.
"Those fools have grown arrogant, the assault on Gringotts was made in haste. And unforeseen factors led to our failure there." Voldemort spoke he learned as much from Vahlkiel, the Demon had those pathetic fools at his mercy until that girl, the owl, pulled out her secret weapon.
The Elder wand, what other weapon could it be to subdue Vahlkiel? He had been considering tracking down the wand for its incredible power but with how these unforeseen string of events had been it had slipped his mind. If it wasn't for that he was sure that his Horcrux would be safe with him and Harry Potter would be at his feet.
"We must remind them that their precious world is not safe, I will personally lead this next assault." Voldemort declared if you wanted something done right do it yourself after all. With what Vahlkiel had told him most of his Horcruxes were missing which meant that they had been secretly gathering them.
He had thought with Dumbledore out of the way that his secrets were that much safer. But it was an oversight one that he needed to rectify. Nagini was already sufficiently protected and there was one Horcrux that Vahlkiel failed to check on.
And what a perfect reason too. With a vile smile that looked ill-placed on his serpentine face, Voldemort turned to Snape.
"Hogwarts will burn!"
_SCENE_
Hello one and all! Thank you for your patience and I hope the chapter was enjoyable to you, it's one of the shorter ones I know but still. In any case hope everyone is doing well and I know that many express concern with the OC, Jones, taking care of the real threat but trust me there is a method to my madness! As for concerns that Harry will feel less special by sharing his magic that was never a hidden fact. Harry at least in this story is not one to horde his knowledge and keep it secret. And in any case it's all going to be a hopefully epic conclusion for you all. Just a few chapters to go I hope you stick with me to the end and I can't believe this project has gotten so much support and attention thank you all. Also just a little announcement is that my P_A_T_R_E_O_N is finished I took it down as my upload schedule and busy IRL stuff just didn't leave much time to properly manage it so don't go looking for it. Until next time this has been your Average, Ordinary, Everyday Fallen Angel!
