*I only own the plot of this story and my OC Camilla Sharro. I hope you all enjoy this. I've had this idea in my head ever since I became obsessed with MHA a few months ago. It's honestly amazing how quickly I got into this. And yes before you say it, I know these kinds of stories have been done to death. OC drops in and joins the main cast throughout the events of the story. But try as I might I couldn't push this story idea down and….here we are. If you enjoy it then great. If you don't then thanks for coming in and giving it a try. Anyways, here we go. I hope you all enjoy.*

Binding the Galaxy Together

Chapter 1 - Fall

Beautiful. Spectacular. Radiant. Those were the words a certain dragoon hero would always describe the night sky as she flew above the Mustafa skyline. The feeling of spreading her wings and using her quirk were something she had cherished from childhood. That feeling of joy is what inspired her to be a hero in the first place. And now here she was years later, once again soaring the skies of her home as she patrolled for any signs of trouble. Stupid as the thought may be today but still some villains always think they can get the drop on the heroes at night better than in the daylight. Like for some reason the sun goes down and no one cares anymore? Ryukyu never understood that mindset but it pained her none as she went about her days. What point was there to bemoan such things?

The dragoon hero made a slow left turn as she covered her ground. No signs of trouble so far. Not that she was complaining. She enjoyed being a hero and saving others but there were times it just got plain annoying to have to deal with so much at once. Happy to do it as she was the nag was still present. But she always gave the people she saved and her fans a warm smile. They deserved it.

"Ryukyu? Come in Ryukyu."

Speaking of warm smiles…

"I read you, Nejire-Chan"

The current Number 9 Hero responded back to her newest intern.

"I just did my sweep over the last few blocks. So far it's pretty quiet tonight."

"Yeah me too! I'm so surprised! Usually Friday nights are super busy for you!"

"Don't let your guard down, Nejire-Chan. The night isn't over yet. Report back to the agency for now. I'm gonna take a few more laps up here."

"You got it Ms. Ryukyu!"

With that the comm. Chanel fuzzed out and Ryukyu went back to looking back and forth between the ground and the sky, scanning for any sort of trouble. It was only quarter after 9 PM. So far most of the activity has been quiet or nowhere near Ryukyu. The few domestic disturbances she saw were nothing the police couldn't handle on their own. If a hero need did rise she knew there were more than enough patrolling the streets and getting in a few good pics for the cameras too.

Hawks was known to be flying around too but he wasn't anywhere to be seen at this point. Unlike Ryukyu, Hawks didn't really stick out like a sore thumb whenever he was flying around. Oh well. Not much she could do about it now. All she could do from here was view down at the people below living their lives, and the stars above her that twinkled and shone in the black sky. Alongside the moon it looked like a dream. The stars, the sky, the moon, the moving bit to the side of the moon that seemed to be getting closer and brighter. It all looked-

Wait. What?

Looking again, Ryukyu confirmed what she saw. Something was coming and from her distance she couldn't make out what it was. She stopped in her place in the air and changed direction. She was now headed towards this thing, whatever it was, to try and get a better view.

"What is that?"

The closer this thing got, the brighter it seemed to get. It was getting just a bit bigger too. Was it a plane? No. It didn't look a plane. She could make out a small shape but it certainly wasn't a plane or helicopter. All she could make it was a vague outline and a trail of smoke. And falling…oh no it was falling.

Something is falling!

The dragoon hero put her wings on maximum speed to try and get as close to this thing as she could. She was also trying to get a better angle of view to see which direction this unknown object was falling. Was it a meteor? If so it didn't look to be a very big one. But again she was too far away to tell. Finally, she hit just the right altitude where she was no longer looking up at the thing but looking down. And she could tell where it was headed. Right towards the city!

"CRAP!"

Once more, Ryukyu was booking it as fast as she could to try and intercept this falling object.

"Nejire-Chan! Come in!"

"Ryukyu?! What's wrong?! Is it a villain?!"

She was ever so thankful for her new intern's quick answering times.

"No. No villain. But there is some sort of meteor falling towards the city and falling fast. I'm currently chasing it to try and intercept."

Currently over in the northwest section of the city, Nejire-Chan was flying over a few buildings while being suspended in air by her spiraling quirk; Wave Motion. She stopped to hover in place and looked up to see in fact, her mentor was right. She could see a bright light that was very much not a star. And it was falling right for her city.

"Oh no! Where is it gonna hit?!" She cried into her communicator.

"From what I can tell of its fall trajectory, it looks to be heading towards the east edge of the city. There's a beach nearby I'm gonna try and redirect it there for minimal damage."

"Right! I'll head that way and start an evacuation!"

"No! You're too far away for that now! This thing is gonna hit ground in less than a minute. Tell the police nearby. They'll be able to send out a city warning!"

"Right, Ryukyu!"

The communication ended there again as Ryukyu pushed her wings again to catch up with this thing. As she got closer she found herself right behind the smoke trail this meteor was giving off. Her dragon scales were tough so heat from reentry shouldn't harm her too much. Still she had to get close enough to do so. The harder she flapped her wings, the closer Ryukyu got to this thing. The shape began to get clearer as the gap narrowed between the two and she could make out…a ring? Or at least the flaming remnants of one. She couldn't make out what it was the ring was attached to though. Her thoughts were torn away from that as that ring structure suddenly ripped away from the meteor and fell back in a hard spin, hurdling towards Ryukyu.

Swiftly, Ryukyu dodged the ring. She also couldn't be sure, but along with feeling the heat from that thing against her scales, she swore she could also hear some clanging metal scraps. So whatever was falling, it was made of metal. And that closed the door on a chunk of space rock being the culprit here. Maybe a satellite that fell out of orbit? Whatever it was, the front of it was billowing out so much smoke. Whatever was falling couldn't be made out beneath it. But that didn't matter at this moment. All that was important now was making sure this thing, whatever it was, didn't hit any innocent people. Finally she got up next to it and ran into its side, causing its trajectory to change. Ryukyu took some relief in seeing the falling object was now headed to the water's edge, away from the mass population. Down below, she could just barely make out some police evacuating the beach of all late night walkers and other civilians. Good. The beach was gonna be clear. Now no one would be hurt and a controlled impact could be attained.

But Ryukyu wasn't one to settle for any sort of damage at all. Her scales were tough and she was the number 9 hero for a reason. It was time to show why. Picking up speed again she maneuvered herself this time directly over the meteor. Once she was in position, she bent her legs down and opened up the claws on her feet, ready to grab it. She had no idea what exactly was in this fiery smoke ball. But she was about to find out. With a determined roar, she plunged her legs into the smoke ball and clenched her toes.

SCREEEECH!

She had made a connection. And the claws in Ryukyu's dragon toes could feel the sturdiness and shredded remains of a metal surface. So an actual meteorite was ruled out of this. As both feet got a grip on this UFO, Ryukyu spread her wings out as wide as she could and started to act like as much of a makeshift parachute as her dragon body would allow.

Down on the ground near the beach entrance, civilians were being pushed behind a line of police and pro heroes as they worked to clear the impact area as wide as possible. So far they had done a good job. All people accounted for, the beach was all clear and the few pro heroes who were there were performing crowd control perfectly.

Then one person shouted out Ryukyu's name and pointed to upwards. Suddenly all eyes were in the sky as the dragon form of the number nine hero was seen with her full wingspan spread trying to slow herself down with whatever it was she was trying to carry. It seemed like time slowed down as they both neared the ground. Ryukyu was succeeding in slowing this plummeting object down but it was still going pretty fast. There was gonna be a loud noise no matter what she did but at this point she was still gonna hold on until the last possible second. And that second came sooner than she thought. The moment she was close enough to the ground, she unclenched her claws and let the object go. Once she did, she tried to flap her wings to get away but she was falling too fast to pull back up. Ryukyu was barely able to revert back into her human form before she impacted the sand. A few rolls and tumbles were all she had to endure before she finally came to a stop.

The object that fell from space however did not have it so easy. The sound of metal crunching against a hard ground was clearly heard as it left a long burning skid mark across the sand of the beach. This continued on for quite some time leaving quite the impressive rut. Finally, the falling hunk came to a halt just before it was about to slide through the woodwork of a pier.

When no more sounds could be heard, Ryukyu back up and brushed the sand off her outfit. But she could still feel some in her shoes. That was something to be taken care of later. Right now she needed to find out just what this thing was. Immediately she began to run down the beach towards it and refused to slow down until she was close. When she got near it her steps slowed down until her feet stopped moving altogether. She was a bit weary to get closer until she got a better look. Another smaller thud nearby though stopped her.

"So what the hell are we dealing with?"

Although distracted now, a smile crept its way up to Ryukyu's face.

"Out for a late night hop, Rumi?"

She turned to show off that smirk to the new arrival and was met with an annoyed expression flashing off the face of The Rabbit Hero: Mirko.

"I told you not to call me that in these outfits, Ryukyu. You know I don't like other people hearing my actual name."

"Old habits die hard." Ryukyu replied with a chuckle.

"Yeah yeah yeah. Old classmates and all that shit." The buff rabbit just waved her off before looking back to the crater. "You gonna tell me what that is now?"

Ryukyu got her attention back to the matter at hand and turned her head.

"I have no clue. There was so much smoke I couldn't make out what it was."

"Well let's fix that."

A feral smile stretched across Mirko's face as she dashed forward towards the thing and hopped over it. With water's edge being so close, it was the perfect opportunity to make a splash.

"LUNA FALL!"

Somersaulting with her leg outstretched, Mirko's special attack was aimed precisely down to the water and hit exactly the way the rabbit was hoping it would. The impact of her foot caused a big enough splash to fly over and reach the smoldering remains of whatever it was. The smoke that filled the air mixed with steam until that was all that remained. A veil which was easily able to be seen through.

Over with the dragoon hero, she gave an impressed nod towards her fellow hero was now standing knee high in the ocean and thoroughly soaked.

"Not bad, Mirko. I suppose that's one way to save water."

"I've never met a problem before that couldn't be solved with a kick." Mirko shot back." "Now let's see what this is."

Ryukyu agreed. She wanted answers and she wanted them now. Getting closer she could make out a shape and colors. There seemed to be a lot of blue. Maybe it was a satellite after all.

No. When she cleared through the steam all the way, she realized she had not even considered the possibility that now was clearly in front of her.

"Hey what's wrong? Why'd you just stop?"

Mirko had joined her at her right side. She saw Ryukyu just stop in her tracks and she didn't understand why. One tilt of her head and she saw what her friend saw. And she couldn't believe it anymore that Ryukyu could.

In front of them was not a downed satellite. Rather it appeared to be the very damaged remnants of a small aircraft. Though the shape of it didn't look at all like any plane either of them had ever seen. The cockpit, or what they believed to be the cockpit was in the rear. It looked big enough to barely fit one person inside. And the two wings on the sides of it were swept forward in odd angles. It looked as if someone had tried to design a craft out of an arrowhead and then just cut off the tip. On the surface of the left side wing there seemed to be a dome shaped protrusion sticking out of it. None of them could guess what it was for. Then came what grasped their attention the most. Going down the center of this plane looked to be the barrels of two guns pointed right out into the ocean.

"What the crap is this? Some sort of experimental plane?"

"Looks to be."

Ryukyu was scanning her eyes all over this craft for any sign of affiliation. A flag or a symbol that could tell her who this thing belonged to. But she came across none. The only symbols, or what she hoped were symbols were that of a plane white backdrop in front of what looked to be a black gear with long sprockets. Neither of them had ever seen anything like that before.

"It's unclear so far whom this belongs to." Ryukyu stated out loud. "Let's check the cockpit."

Mirko nodded as they both began to step closer. If there was a test pilot in this plane and they were hurt, then they needed to be let out and examined for injuries. Mirko didn't hesitate to hop up onto the right side wing of this craft and try to peer into the cockpit.

"Careful, Mirko. We don't want to cause an explosion." Ryukyu warned her.

"I'm careful I'm careful." The rabbit hero just waved her off.

She was having trouble seeing. The glass to this cockpit was all fogged up. But it was still all in one piece. Tapping the glass with her knuckles, Mirko nodded in slight admiration of the cockpit's hull.

"I'll give it this. It's durable."

Comments aside, Mirko began to work her hands around the canopy glass looking for some way to get it open other than breaking it. Finally, she found a small red lever in-between where the cockpit met the wing. Once again, no hesitation was given as Mirko pulled the lever. Once she did, the front of the canopy snapped upwards just a bit and some of the fog began to spill out of the cockpit. Mirko reached over to tilt the canopy up all the way as Ryukyu stepped between the wings to get a better look.

"Sure do hope the pilot, if there is one, wasn't a damn idiot and strapped it. Why the hell didn't they just eject though? Do planes no longer have that?"

Ryukyu didn't answer her. She just fanned her arm out in front of her to clear the fog and finally, a body could be seen. Then clothes and….the face. Mirko and Ryukyu inched their heads in closer to make sure they weren't seeing things.

What was inside waiting for them was indeed a pilot. But it wasn't some mature adult like they were expecting. Instead what the two pro heroes saw before them, was a young girl barely into her teen years by first look. A head of long and flowing ruby red hair reached down to just below her shoulders. The only part that was longer than that was a single thin braid stretching down her shoulder. Instead of a G-suit this girl was dressed in a dark grey tunic with matching pants and brown boots. A long flowing brown cloak with an unworn hood was on over that. A utility belt was fastened around her waist with pouches lining it and a few other objects they couldn't really make out underneath the cloak.

Ryukyu and Mirko both stood stunned. A kid. They were staring at a young, unmoving kid. Immediately their minds began to run a mile a minute thinking about what this poor thing had just been through?

"What the hell is a kid doing strapped into this thing?! Did someone force her to do this?!"

"Where are this child's parents?! And what did she think she was even doing?!"

"…..eeerrmmm….."

The soft moan stirred the two pros from their thoughts as they saw the girl move.

"Oh thank goodness she's alive." Ryukyu was up on the ship now with Mirko. "Here help me get her out."

The rabbit hero nodded and reached down into the cockpit of the plane to undo the straps that held the girl to the seat. When she was free, she took one arm and Ryukyu took the other as they began to lift her out. They had to do so slowly. They didn't know how bad this girl was hurt. When they got her out, the two pros carried her together away from the plane and laid her back down on the beach. Ryukyu kneeled down next to her and began to look her over. She didn't seem to have any major injuries that she could see. The only thing that was notable was a large cut on the side of her head was still bleeding.

"Go and get some paramedics down here." She said to Mirko with some worry.

Mirko nodded after seeing the cut herself and hopped away. Her vulgar language was then heard from a distance calling over an ambulance. While she was gone, Ryukyu gently caressed the head of the young girl to try and soothe her. She looked barely on the edge of consciousness and slipping fast. Ryukyu could see her eyelids began to twitch as she tried to open them up.

"…aahh….uugh..w-wh….m…"

"Easy. Easy."

The red haired girl tilted her head up just the tiniest bit when she heard the voice of an unknown.

"…..where….."

"It's okay, child. Don't worry about anything right now. Just rest. Help will be here soon."

Soothing as she was trying to be, that didn't seem to help at all as this girl kept trying to speak.

"….no…..can't…master…..where…..where is…my master?"

Ryukyu's face fell into a small frown after hearing that word.

"Your master?"

The grunts and groans from the kid became just a bit louder as the dragoon hero could feel her try to sit up.

"What-no! No no no no! Don't try to move!"

"I gotta….get back….find him…"

She was just about to try lifting her back off the sand before she felt the stranger's arm wrap across her front.

"Don't. You're too hurt right now. You need a doctor."

Finally the young girl opened her eyes. Just barely but enough to make out the detail of the color. When she saw it up close, she couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing.

"Hey the ambulance is pulling up. Let's get her up there."

Mirko's re-entry was enough to distract Ryukyu for a second as she looked to the rabbit hero for a quick glance than back down to the teen.

"Rumi you have to see this."

"For the last time don't call me-"

"Just come here!"

Mirko actually jumped at that. No one ever interrupted her like that. And whenever someone did, she would always respond in kind with a swift kick to the wall. It seemed to work most of the time. But she did what her friend had asked and knelt down to see what was getting her so worked up. When she did, a small gasp escaped her lips.

This young girl's eyes. Instead of them being a ring of a solid color, they were milky and clouded over with no distinct color to even be seen except for a dull lifeless gray.

"…puh..please…"

It didn't seem like this girl could tell who or what she was looking at as she began to grow weak again. A few moments passed and her head rested back down into Ryukyu's embrace. Her chest rising and falling signaled that she had fallen unconscious.

"This kid's blind?" Mirko whispered.

"This poor thing…why is she out here?" Ryukyu was growing even more worried for this child.

"Hey up here!"

The two heroes looked back up to the nearby ambulance that was parked and had a stretcher waiting.

"We'll figure that out later. Right now we gotta get her to the hospital."

Ryukyu was in complete agreement. She and Mirko worked together to lift the young girl up and carry her over to the stretcher. When the paramedics took over, the two pros were complimented on a job well done by the medics and law enforcement. But their job wasn't done yet. Not to them. A plane or something just fell out of the sky and inside it was a young girl. A BLIND young girl. Neither of them could fathom why this happened but they felt like they needed to know. When the ambulance took off for the hospital, Ryukyu and Mirko both followed. The former got on the phone with her agency and told them of the situation. Mirko was on the phone too but she was calling someone else. She was calling for someone to go and pick up that wrecked plane and get it somewhere out of sight.

They had no idea what was going on but the two pros could just feel it inside of their gut. Something was just beginning here. Only question is; what?
