The First Bee:

"The first word is tumescent."

Lance swallowed. Richard smiled at him from the audience, and Lance took a deep breath. "T-u-m-e-s-c-e-n-t," he spelled slowly and carefully. "Correct!" the judge said to applause. This was an unusual spelling bee - there was only one other contestant.

Gay stepped forward. "Your word is spurting," he was told. "S-p-i" - "No, I'm sorry, that is not correct," said the judge. Gay sashayed away. He never cared for such contests anyway- he'd much rather be on the dance floor.

"Okay, Lance. For entry into the college bowl, spell 'Throbbing'." "T-h-r-o-b-b-i-n-g", spelled Lance confidently, holding himself erect. "Congratulations! You win!," chirped the judge, seeming as excited himself as Lance was. Richard beamed.

The Second Bee:

"The first word is moist." Catherine, who always went by Cat, was painfully nervous, although this was an unusual spelling bee - there was only one other contestant. Cat answered slowly, licking her dry lips, saying "m-o-y-s-t." Kitty's braless breasts heaved in her too-small shirt as she tapped her foot impatiently. "Sorry, that is not correct," said Kitty. Cat stomped off, her combat boots clomping along the floor.

Honey stepped forward. "Okay, Honey. For entry into the college bowl, spell "'Flower'. "F-l-o-w-e-r", spelled Honey with a toss of her cascading hair the color of her name. "Congratuations! You win!" exulted Kitty.
