Harry knew he shouldn't be in London right now.
He knew that if anyone found out that he snuck out of his house, away from his relatives, that everyone would lecture him on being irresponsible and not caring for his own life or being able to defeat Voldemort. He can already hear Mrs. Weasley and Hermione nagging him.
But on the other hand, Harry was positive that ignoring a summons from Gringotts was also not a good idea. He had his invisibility cloak so he should be fine, probably. Harry was able to slip into Diagon behind an older couple before carefully making his way through the summer crowd in the alleyway.
Harry was unsure why Gringotts was asking him to come in as soon as possible or else they would freeze his accounts, which was a threat he didn't know the goblins could make but he wasn't going to risk not being able to access his vault. When he received the letter it was the only time Harry possibly regretted giving money to the Weasley twins for their shop. How was he going to get by if he had no money? So now he was slinking through Diagon Alley, trying not to run into anyone as he made his way into Gringotts.
He probably should've left a note or something behind, but it is only a couple of hours, what could go wrong?
Once inside of the bank, Harry quickly made his way over to the only goblin he did recognize.
"Psst, Griphook," Harry whispered.
"Mr. Potter, why are you hiding?" Griphook sneered, looking at Harry as if the cloak wasn't even on him.
"Well, I received a letter saying I needed to come here urgently, but I am technically am not allowed to leave the blood wards during the summer, so I had to sneak out," Harry muttered with a shrug, "But I am here now."
Griphook stared at Harry as if trying to determine if he was truthful or not, it made Harry's insides squirm a bit at the scrutiny.
"Follow me, Mr. Potter," Griphook said before quickly leading the way to a hallway of offices. For being so short, the goblin really moved quickly, Harry had to jog to keep up with Griphook's pace. They reached an office near the end of the hallway with a nondescript door, and Griphook swung the door open and Harry made it into the room just barely before the door slammed shut again.
"Nagras! Here is Mr. Potter, I will summon the others." Griphook said to the goblin at the desk before leaving out of another door at the back of the office. Harry pulled off his cloak, looking around curiously before looking to the goblin called Nagras.
"Um, nice to meet you, sir?" Harry decided to start with.
"Well I am no sir, but you may sit down Mr. Potter," Nagras said with a raspy voice, milky-looking eyes staring at Harry in a way that Harry would almost describe as amused. "The others will be along shortly, do you know why you have been summoned?"
"Um no? But since the letter I was sent threatened to freeze my account if I didn't show up, I assumed it was something important."
"Accounts, you have more than one, but yes this is very important."
"I have more accounts? What does that mean?" Harry asked confused, he only had one vault, right?
"It means that you have several vaults with Gringotts boy." Another deep voice answered making Harry turn to see two other goblins had returned with Griphook.
"Why didn't I know about these vaults?"
"Your magical guardian should have told you, boy, it is not the goblin's job to coddle you and tell you what you own." The new goblin said in a scolding tone.
"What's a magical guardian? I only have my Aunt and Uncle and they are muggles, and if they knew I had any money at all they would have taken it all from me already."
The goblins looked at each other with what Harry would call alarm but reading a goblin's expression was not easy.
"This is going to be a long meeting." Nagras declared with a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry?" Harry tried only for Nagras to wave him off.
"Never you mind boy, before we address anything else, first we need for you to take an inheritance test."
"How do I do that?"
"Sign your name here with this blood quill, it will take your blood and the parchment will do the rest of the work." Nagras directed.
Harry felt unsure but it wasn't like he had anyone else to ask so he might as well follow their instructions. Harry picked up the quill laying on the desk and Nagras passed him a piece of parchment that made his fingers tingle with the magic imbued in it. Signing his name carefully, he hissed at the feeling of his blood being pulled but finished his name before dropping the quill to rub at the back of his hand.
The parchment on the desk lit up and black ink began to fill itself out starkly below the bright red of his name. Harry read the parchment as it grew longer and longer.

"Are you sure that this test is accurate?" Harry asked in an unsure voice.
"No one has ever fooled blood magic, don't be stupid boy." The goblin next to Griphook snarled.
"Well then can someone explain what is on this parchment because it doesn't make much sense." Harry snarked back.
Nagras grabbed the parchment and read over it before passing it to the rude goblin and Griphook. Harry looked at the final goblin, who looked older than any goblin Harry had ever seen before, that hadn't said anything up till now, he didn't even look at the parchment, or at Harry for that matter, he looked at Nagras before speaking.
"This information will not be leaving this room until the young Lord announces it himself. It is going to cause a lot of upset with the old families."
"Could someone please explain?" Harry asked a little hysterical at this point.
"Young Lord, what would you like explained?" The old goblin asked.
"What is a magical name? How is Sirius one of my parents? What is a magical guardian? How did I not know that Professor Dumbledore was one? How do I have any lordships? When was I emancipated?" Harry asked quickly causing the old goblin to chuckle.
"Slow down young one. You were raised with muggles, correct?" The goblin asked, Harry nodded causing the rude goblin to click his tongue in disgust. "Would you rather explain what is happening Mirnok?" The old goblin asked the rude one, apparently called Mirnok.
"No, it is probably best you tell the boy the weight of his inheritance Elder Rom," Mirnok muttered.
"Young Lord, please sit and get comfortable, this is going to take a while." Elder Rom commanded, sitting in a chair across from Harry himself. Harry finally sat down, but he felt himself vibrating with irritation at the lack of answers.
"So what can you tell me?" Harry decided to start with.
"Your Magical name is just another name for a full name, it is the name you are expected to sign on official documents or use in official capacities. Everyone usually has a common name that they use in school or for day-to-day use. When Sirius Black blood adopted you, he made you his son through magic, thus adding his name to your magical name. By adopting you he also marked you as the next heir of the Black family. As Sirius cannot take up his Lordship it passes on to you. Just as your father's Lordship passed to you when he passed. What is curious is the names Caliban, Peverell, and Slytherin being on your inheritance. Well, Peverell could be expected as the Potters are a relative of the Peverells, but the fact it is under your heirships means that someone else holds the lordship already. Same with Slytherin. As I have no knowledge of Lord Peverell or Slytherin, it will take some investigation. Now the House of Caliban is very curious."
"You mean impossible." Mirnok interrupted Elder Rom to sneer. "It should be impossible to have the lordship of both Black and Caliban."
"Mirnok, I believe you should return to your duties, if we need you I will send Griphook along," Nagras ordered, making Mirnok sneer more before leaving them alone.
"Now, as I was saying, The House of Caliban is curious as it is the ancestral origin of the House of Black. Before the English branch of the House of Black came into being, Europe held a large and powerful family called the House of Caliban. They were royalty in their own right, but also supremely secretive. Supposedly a family of many ancient talents and gifts, but not a family that interacted freely with others. Stories say that the House of Black was a line of wizards and witches that were disinherited from the House of Caliban, cut off from the family magic and family money, they settled in England to make their own way. The House of Caliban has not been heard from since the rise of Grindlewald, rumor said that the dark wizard had wiped the last of the family out so he had no competition in ruling Europe."
The story made shivers go up Harry's spine, he wasn't sure if he wanted to be related to the House of Black, never the less their original line of Caliban.
"Now, as for your other questions, it looks like your name coming out of the Goblet of Fire this last year emancipated you, which was the original reason you were summoned here to Gringotts, but being emancipated makes your magical guardian no longer in control of you or your assets. Not that it seems that Albus Dumbledore was doing his duty as magical guardian to you in the first place." Elder Rom continued in a disappointed tone.
"What is a magical guardian supposed to be doing?"
"Teach you of the magical world, tell you about your name and your lordships, help you with your investments, and check on you to make sure you are safe with your muggle relatives. It is rare that anyone has a magical guardian anymore since it is usually only put in place for those wizard and witch children that were born in the magical world but then for whatever reason end up in the muggle world."
"So muggle-borns don't have magical guardians?"
"No, a failing of our political system, but there it is. Albus Dumbledore was supposed to tell you about all of this but since he hasn't and you are already emancipated, it will be up to you to get the information you need. I would suggest trying to appeal to one of the old families and see if they will take you under their wing so to speak to teach you what you need to know."
"Can't Sirius tell me what I need to know?" Harry asked without thinking, causing Elder Rom to smirk at him.
"Ignoring the fact that Sirius Black is a fugitive and you shouldn't know him. Sirius ran away from his home when he was about your age, he was disowned and passed over as the rightful Heir of the House of Black. He may be able to start you down the path of what you need to know, but he will not be able to help you finish." Elder Rom gravely said.
"Oh…I understand I guess. What happens now?" Harry asked still feeling overwhelmed from all he had learned today.
"Now you figure out if you return to the muggles tonight and meet us back here tomorrow to figure out why your inheritance and medical history has been blocked. Then you will claim your Lordships and we will help you find someone to teach you everything you need to know."
Harry had never felt so overwhelmed and underprepared for the future as he did right now and considering his past, that was quite the accomplishment.
"I think I need to pull out some money and think about what to do next," Harry said, looking at Elder Rom for approval of the plan.
"That is a very good idea Young Lord. Griphook will take you down to your vault and we will speak again tomorrow."
"Thank you, Elder Rom, Nagras, Griphook." Harry bowed since it felt like the most appropriate thing to do at this point. The goblins all gave a scary-looking grin before Griphook lead Harry out of Nagras' office and down to his vault so he could try to make plans for his ever-changing future.
Why does this stuff always happen to him?
