Good to see you again, now I want to make something clear, first Koku will be powerful, but not right away, so please wait for that, also his descent will hopefully be noticeable.

"Damn!" The sound of metal could be heard throughout the clearing, "Why can't I get a good hit?!" Koku said as he looked at the wolf in front of him in an intimidating posture.

It was one week since he got away from the town of beginnings, and I have had no luck so far, 'I got to level two so easily but these wolves are crazy.' Koku thought as he blocked another charge just to be thrown to the side, his health entering the yellow.

Koku barely held himself up as the wolf growled at him with barely any damage to its health. "I thought this was supposed to be an easy quest." Koku said as he glared at the wolf.

After Koku left the Town of Beginnings, he ran to the next town to try and skip a step in getting exp, but that proved to be harder than he thought as he was way out of his league in any quest he took.

He was still level two and the only exp he got was from chores he did around that were only good for col, he was close to leveling up though this would be the last quest until that feat would be accomplished.

He still has his starter gear as he is trying to get a weapon he saw, it is called a tanto, when he saw it he thought it was a sword, but it was classified as a dagger, apparently it specializes in sharpness, it is one of the better weapons when it comes to beating armored enemies.

"Shit!" he got thrown again, his health on the border between yellow and red, he got up and looked at the wolf only getting angrier knowing the wolf is stronger than him, he also only has one sword skill, which is Canine, which is just an upward slash, but he can barely do anything with that.

He had another skill slot open but he used it for a skill called Acrobatics he got it pretty easily, all he had to do was find a guy who made him do weird poses and acrobatics for an hour straight. He could never do it right, it took him five days to finish.

The only good thing to come out of this is all the dodging Koku has to do has leveled his skill up, but since his Agl is low there is a limit to how many times and what type of skills he can use.

"I should have gotten another support skill." Koku said as he ducked under the wolf and slashed at its stomach, "Yes!" He said just to see that the wolf's health is still in the green, "What level is this thing twenty?!" He looked above the wolf and saw it was only level five.

The wolf charged at him again but then Koku had an idea, just as the wolf was about to hit him, he fell to the floor and kicked the wolf with both his feet into the air, he then used a canine to slice the creature, getting it;s health in the red.

"Tsk" as the wolf landed it bit into Koku's leg lowering Kokus health into the red, and draining fast, he switched his blade into a reverse grip and slashed at the wolf's head two times killing it, just as it bursted into particles, Koku looked at his health to see he had only about two precent of his health left.

On the bright side he leveled up, he was now level two, he would upgrade his stats later for now he just wanted to go home and rest.

I was walking back to the town tired, I have been at this for a week straight and I am only level three. When some people were already level four, I walked back to the inn I stayed in and went to my room.

I sat down on the bed, sighing, I opened my menu, seeing that I didn't even get anything from that fight. I did not care to check when I was leaving because I did not want to die, but now that I was here I decided to check my supplies, I saw that my dagger was pretty much broken, and the only items I have, I can't even use because the quests that need them have already been cleared somehow.

I knew what I had to do, I had to get a new weapon if I wanted to survive, I decided to upgrade my strength as much as I could, because right now that is what I need, then I went to sleep, if I wanted that weapon I could not buy anything.

The next morning I left the Inn and went to the npc ran weapon shot, I know that player made weapons are way better but right now there is no one who can make anything, not that I really know of anyway, if I had to guess most people did not even leave that town yet, now normally I would say I understand because the threat of death in a world like this is scary.

But, in all honesty, I don't. This is like real life, except we are responsible for our lives here, no parents here to hold our hands, we need to beat this game true, but how are you going to do that when crying.

However I would put money on the fact that some people do not believe the whole "Die in here then you die in real life" thing, and some people may be committing suicide as an attempted to escape.

I finally got to the store, I went inside and looked around, there were a few weapons on the walls, mostly katanas and two-handed swords, I guess because they look the best, anyway, I walked up to the guy running the store, and bought the weapon I wanted, I walked out and looked at it.

It was better than my dagger, a lot better, and with my new strength I think I can beat some wolves easily, I went to the bar on the other side of the street and went in, I sat at the table, knowing from some guy who passed by this town that you can get some good quests from this bar in the mornings, I waited then a waitress came up to me asking what I wanted.

I responded with "Water" she left and came back five minutes later looking like she was just crying, I asked. "Is everything okay?" she looked a bit surprised, I guess she did not notice she was crying but this is just how to activate the quest, if it was a real girl I would not know how to act.

She looked at me and smiled a bit and said, "Yes sorry, it's just there is a pack of wolves to the north that destroyed our last supply cart and we have barely been getting any money to this place so our family is starving." I later found out this was a family run establishment.

I said, "Well if you want I can deal with the wolves and get your cart back for you." She looked happy and nodded, this time looking like she would explode into a rainbow of happiness, guess she has a child or two if she is this happy.

I left the bar and went to the field where a path that leads from another town leads, I walked down the road for ten minutes, then I found it, the wolves and the cart, I smiled knowing that I stand a chance now with my new weapon, I saw how much exp this quest gives and it was a lot.

I ran up and used canine on one of the wolves heads, and it wiped out not even half its health, I looked shocked wondering if my level did not even make a difference to this game, then, I got hit back by the wolf, I got up noticing my health was barley in the green, I wondered how I would live through this.

The wolf charged at me, it tried to bite my face off, but I blocked it with my tanto and kicked it away, barely doing any damage, I got pissed seeing how it did barley anything, I took my tanto in a reverse grip for some reason feeling like this will make it easier.

The wolf jumped at me and I side-stepped it and sliced down its side, it landed and turned charging at me, I leaned left and stabbed my blade into its side, and when it landed I switched into normal grip turned in a half circle, slicing its eyes, the round-house kicking it in the face with my left leg, bursting it into particles.

After that I felt exhausted, and I still had four more. "I should really upgrade my agility, maybe vitality a bit too." I knew I would have to upgrade both, not a whole ton because I did not want to be a tank, that was never my style, I knew I would be screwed if I did not get strong, but I was trying, but for some reason trying was not enough.

I got angry again and without waiting for my health to refill I charged at a wolf and used canine to slice up it's face, I then drop-kicked it before it could react, it got hit back a few feet but then it launched itself at me, I tried to side step to the left, but it changed direction and tackled me.

I held out my tanto trying to stop if from biting off my face, and with my strength I was only just able to, I head-butted it and while it was disoriented, I used my tanto to slice its neck hitting a critical, I then stabbed it in the head right as it was about to bite me, it bursts into particles, my health was now in the red, I got up and stubbled to a tree, put my back to it and slid down in a sitting position, I was not looking at the other three, knowing that what I was going to do would be way harder than it needed to be.

After twenty minutes I finished the last wolf and am currently dragging the carriage back. The reason it took so long is because it takes a long time to recover your health normally, I just hoped I would get something good out of this because now my tanto's durability was 126/250.

Because fighting five wolves is that hard, okay I take that back, it took me half an hour to beat five of them, I did get some wolf hide from them, no idea what that will be useful for but oh well.

When I made it back the the bar, I showed the women the carriage, she thanked me and gave me a sword, apparently it was an heirloom in her family, but since I pretty much the reason they get to live, so I walked away with it, looking at it I saw it gave plus nine to my strength, plus three to my agility, and it's durability is at 350, compared to my plus three to my strength and plus three to my agility, and lowered durability. It was way better than my current… Tanto, "Shit".

I am mad, the thing I got was a good weapon but the problem is, that it's a one-handed sword not a dagger, and little thing few people know in this game, you can use different weapons but the problem is you can't use their skills, since I chose the dagger at the start, I can only use dagger type weapon skills, I don't even know what to do with this sword anymore.

I was currently in my room in the Inn, questioning why I even try, I was not giving up by any means, I was just wondering why my luck is so bad, then I checked how long it will take to level up, seeing that the I would need to do at least seven more quests of that level to level up again so, it should not be that hard, well who ever agreed is wrong, I was reckless the whole fight, the fact that I am not dead is a miracle.

One month later

I am in a town called Tolbana, I made it here after someone I met told me someone managed to find the boss room, the fact that a whole month has gone by and we only just found the boss room kind of makes me upset, I thought by now we may be on floor three but I guess not, anyway I got stronger since the month I had trouble with the wolves.

I am now level six, which I hear is the minimum level recommended for fighting the first floor boss, I upgraded my agility most, followed my strength and durability, I read that durability should be top three no matter what, oh yeah I should probably mention who told me all this, well it was someone in a brown cloak, it sounded like a girl, but anyway, I was looking at the useless word one day she came up to me and asked where I got it, I told her from a quest and she asked to buy it.

I agreed and asked why she needed it, by the looks of her she used daggers like me, then she told me that would cost me col, I was curious of her because I kind of liked her style, charging people for the most basic things, not that I would ever do that but it did draw my interest, I gave her 500 col and she told me she was getting it for someone else who asked her to keep an eye out, and she asked if I wanted to know a few more things so she could keep the rest of her money.

I agreed because I have no idea what has been happening, she told me about a meeting that would be taking place discussing the floor, boss, she then gave me a book that was written by the beta testers on how best to survive and finally she told me about the suicides that took place in the town on beginnings, and how two-thousand players have died, after that she said that was all but told me if I tried I still could have kept one-thousand col out of this because she was going to give me 7,500 col for the sword.

I did not know what to say to that, and she left, after a bit I thought, about all the food I could of bought with one-thousand col, because I was kind of broke, but I did not care at that moment, so I started walking to the town she told to me and read the book on the way, I found out a lot of useful things, like how all the quests I could have done that were hidden. I could have been level eight by now if I knew these.

I knew I could only blame myself for not even looking for info, I knew people may give it, but this cost me so, I don't think I could have gotten it anyway. But right now I am walking to the place that she- wait she never told me her name, well that may have cost me anyway, but like I was saying, I was walking to the place she told me about, seeing that there were indeed people there sitting in what looked like stands.

I walked down a bit and sat down waiting for it to start, thinking about how to level up faster, because if I were to be honest I am weak, I knew right now I may be stronger than most the players in this game but give them enough time and they will catch up quickly, just then I noticed a guy with blue hair, and an outfit that is definitely better than mine walk up the what looked like a stage.

He clapped twice and said, "Okay people now that everyones here lets get this meeting started." That seemed to get everyone's attention. In the corner of my eye I saw someone just sitting down, they looked familiar.

"So anyway I wanna thank everyone for coming, good to see you my name is Diabel and in this game the job I rolled is knight." That made a lot of people laugh, but I just wanted him to get to the point, the longer we wait the more people can die from lack of resolve.

Some guy said, "Dude there's no job system in this game." To which thanks for pointing out the obvious but anyway, the blue haired man then said.

"You guys wanna hear this or not?" That made everyone quiet down, but I am starting to find his voice annoying. Wait, where did that come from? Anyway he then seemed to get serious and said.

"Right, anyway, here's the deal: our party found the boss room on the top of the tower today." That seemed to get a reaction out of everyone if the gasps were anything to go by, but the only thing I am thinking about how dumb he sounds, maybe it's because the only voice I heard from the past months was that girls, the rest were my own voice and quest givers, but they don't talk back.

"First we need to defeat the boss and make it to floor two, the next step is we need to tell everybody waiting in the town of beginnings that it is possible to beat this game!" Holy shit I hate his voice, can you shut up and tell us the plan already?

"Fact is it's our duty as the most capable players here, do you agree or not?" Is everyone buying this, really? It is the most basic speech I have ever heard, but I am not saying anything because, it's not like I can come up with anything, guess someone needed to do it. But next time can it be someone whose voice doesn't make me want to rip my ear off?

But everyone else bought it and started clapping, some guy even whistled, I am starting to hate the sound other people make, I prefer the sound of my blade cutting through a wolf, or maybe someone who's voice isn't annoying.

"Okay glad to hear you're all with me on this now let's figure out how we are gonna beat the boss first off we will team up into parties of six, a typical party does not stand a chance against a boss, we need a raid group made of multiple parties." 'Shit' You know I do not think I have ever swore this much.

I looked around and saw a guy move over to someone in a cloak and since I had no one else to join I decided why not join them? So I went down an aisle and asked. "Hey mind if I join up with you guys, I don't have any other people to join with."

The guy with black hair looked at me and said, "Sure I don't mind, do you?" He asked the girl, when she shook her head he sent me a party invitation, and I accepted and sat behind them.

"Alright looks like everyone has teamed up now then-" Before he could finish someone interrupted him from the top of the stadium.

"Hold up a sec!" He jumped down the stairs and made some grunts which was not necessary and landed a few feet from Diabel, he had spiky orange hair and hair under his lip and above his chin? What.

He pointed to himself and said. "My name's Kibaou, got that!" 'The got that part was not needed, now get to the point, your appearance is appalling, wait when did I lose a filter?'

"Before we take on the boss I wanna get something off my chest, we all know about the two-thousand people who have died this far yeah?" Oh god the way he speaks is terrible, but yeah I know about them thanks to the lady in the cloak, wait she scammed me why should I thank her? It was good though, I could learn a thing or two from her, if I ever wanted to start scamming people, which I doubt I will but I will not put it past myself.

"Well some of you need to apologize to them right now!" People started muttering, I had an idea what he was talking about but to be honest I couldn't care less so I just started thinking about all the good things that happened to me this past month, I got a new blade, I leveled up to level six, and surprisingly the meeting with the girl was there but to be fair it was my first human interaction for so long so maybe that's it. Wait when did he get up there?

"Hey my name's Agil, Kibaou right? I wanna make sure i'm on the same page, you say the ex-beta testers should be blamed for the rookies deaths because they didn't help them and you want them to apologize and give up their winnings, I leave anything out?" His voice sounds way better than these guys, I can actually stand it, and anyway I guess I did miss something, but thanks for catching me up buddy!

"No you didn't" Kibaou got an angry look on his face, he is being way too animated for my liking and Agil, I would say he is not getting to the point fast enough but he is making a point so I give it a pass.

"The item store hands these out for free, it's a guide book, you got one didn't you." For free did he say?

"Sure I got one, so what about it?" And back to ignoring this, I know what he is going to say, I know who wrote these and he is going to make a point, about it, I am glad someone stood up for the beta testers though, someone needed to, but it was not going to be me, unless his voice started to make my ears bleed then maybe I would do something akin to force feeding him his own sword.

I looked back to see the two sat down, from what it looks like the spiky haired guy is pouting on the steps, and Daibel is about to start speaking again.

"Okay can we get back to the meeting now?" 'No I would rather be away from your giant nose, so continue so we can get shit done. Okay really when did I start swearing this much?'

"For info on the boss, it's all in here, the latest info on the guide book you just heard about." The orange hair looked surprised, and I was laughing inside, giving props to Agil.

"According to the book, the bosses name is Ilfang the Kobold lord, also he will be surrounded by his minions the ruin Kobold sentinels, the boss is armed with an axe and buckler, he has four health bars and when the last one turns red he switched to a curve sword-type weapon called a Talwar, his attack pattern changes too." That got people muttering a bit, which annoyed me, why don't they think like I do, oh wait I think because I have no one to talk to.

"This concludes the briefing: lastly item distribution, money will be spread evenly, exp goes to the party that beats the boss, and whoever gets an item keeps it, any objections?" No one said anything as Koku was brooding over the fact that he could not buy food.

"Good we leave tomorrow at ten in the morning, meeting adjourned people." As he swung his arm, Koku was debating whether stealing aligned with his morals, but his morals won.

The girl in the cloak got up and left, and I followed her. I did not want to stay any longer than I already have.

Later that night, I was in my room, looking at my items, I knew there was a party but I did not want to go, those people annoyed me just by talking so dealing with them at a party would only be worse, I made sure all my stuff was up for the task tomorrow and, closed my menu.

I knew there would be a long day ahead of me, so I decided to go to sleep early. So I closed my eyes and drifted off.

Now I know what someone will say "You are contradicting yourself on here, here" and so on, I just want you to know, nothing I said was done on accident, anyway please review, and sorry it took me so long to update the story, but I need inspiration and it can come to me every night or once a month, anyway have a good day.
