Summary: At seventeen years of age, Atreus and his father found themselves in another realm, one that was unfortunately filled with the less crazy, but irritating versions of the gods they had slain. Can they live their life in peace? Or the supernatural world of DxD will be forced to know the full might of THE God of War? Atreus will try to make sure that won't happen… anytime soon at least.

Son of War

Chapter 30

ZEUS! Your son has returned!

I BRING THE DESTRUCTION OF OLYMPUS!

"Father?"

Kratos slowly opened his eyes when he heard his son calling him, gazing back at Atreus as they sat facing each other in the cabin of the pegasus drawn carriage that was flying them to Olympus. His son must have sensed the slight shift in his demeanor as they drew closer and closer to the home world of the Greek gods, which Kratos did not need to look out of the window to know that they were close.

Or he simply just read his body language, with the way Kratos had been slowly twisting the Draupnir ring around his finger as he sat there in his seat. It had been a while that Kratos had made himself so transparent to Atreus.

"Are you alright, father?"

"Something you want to get off your chest, brother?" Mimir, who was on the table between them, asked, making Kratos look at him for a moment before casting his gaze over to the goddess who had broken the news to him and his son as she sat in the seat on the other side of the cabin.

Apparently, Aphrodite had convinced Zeus to let her be the one who delivered his invitation to them, because if she had not done it, then naturally Hermes would have been selected to be the messenger. More or less, they owed her for stopping more surprises coming their way, giving them time to better prepare and do more than just putting on a proper suit for the meeting with the king of the Greek gods and possibly most of the Olympian council.

"Last time I traveled to an Olympus, it was not by a carriage drawn by Pegasus."

Kratos broke the silence and answered to his son, making Atreus nod his head in understanding, knowing that his father still did not trust Aphrodite enough to reveal anything to her outside of things that she had already known. His past was no longer a secret to him and Mimir, but Atreus knew that there were minor details that his father had left out and would not tell unless he asked the right questions.

At the very least, however, that was still something.

"Well, here we are, gentlemen."

Aphrodite informed them while leaning close to the window next to her, making Atreus peer out of the window with his hand holding up Mimir so he could do the same as the carriage descended towards Olympus. Despite having visited the place numerous times before, this was his first time actually seeing the home world of the Greek gods from a bird's eye view, and the city looked even more magnificent and grandiose than he could imagine.

"Sweet honey mead, what a sight!" exclaimed Mimir in wonder as his glowing eyes shone with astonishment. Kratos, meanwhile, continued to remain impassive in his seat, but Atreus could see a glimmer of interest in his eyes as he glanced out at the city below. Aphrodite had told him that Olympia, the grand city of mount Olympus, had been rebuilt numerous times over the years as civilization processed, so it was hard to tell if it still had any similarities to the Olympus that his father knew.

"Oh, that building right there is the shop that belongs to Brok and Sindri!" Atreus pointed out of the window as he informed his father and Mimir, directing their attention to the building that had a large chimney that was shaped like a fork, similar to the signature brand of the Dwarven brothers when they flew over it. It appeared they were not having any customers at the moment, but the cloud of dark smoke coming out of the chimney was evidence that they were at work.

"Hmm, nice place that they got. Happy to see they are doing well here." Mimir smiled, with Kratos grunting in agreement. "Still strange to hear and see that they are so far off North though."

"We will be landing soon in a minute." Aphrodite informed them before getting up from her seat to make her way over to their table and speak to them "Keep in mind…"

"The three of us have never met before today. Relax, Dite. We remember." Atreus said with an assuring smile, finishing the reminder that Aphrodite was about to tell them while his father simply nodded his head to her in confirmation while letting out a small grunt under his breath. Even after that, Aphrodite still did not look any less worried, however.

Having gotten used to seeing her being so carefree all the time to the point she appeared like an airhead, it was rather surprising for him to see Aphrodite being so nervous.

Not that he could blame her. Atreus was feeling nervous too… for the first time since Ragnarok. The closer they got to the throne room, the more anxiety he felt. Time and time it had been proven that the Greek gods of this world was not like the ones that his father had slain in his rage, at least from what he had seen, but Atreus was still having difficulty not imagining a scenario where their meeting with Zeus went sought, and their hands were forced to do what was necessary to protect themselves.

"Atreus."

As the carriage touched down just outside the glorious Hall of the Greek gods, it was his father who called out to him as he reached forward and placed a hand on his shoulder in a comforting, but assuring manner, making Atreus look up, not realizing that he had been staring at his hands the whole time as they rested on the table between them. Atreus found himself looking into the golden eyes of his father, finding strength in the stern, but warm gaze of the old God of war, allowing him to take a deep breath as he felt all of his uncertainties disappear. No matter what awaited ahead of them, he knew they would face it together.

"Come." He said, and Atreus nodded his head back to him in response, resting a hand on his father wrist before standing up, looking at Aphrodite as she walked toward the door, which was opened for them from the outside by the driver.

"Good luck, brothers." Mimir called after them, making Kratos look around and nod his head in acknowledgement to him while Atreus smiled. They had decided that the sight of Mimir would not leave a good first impression, so he would be staying behind.

As Atreus and his father stepped out of the carriage after Aphrodite, the two were greeted by the grandeur of the famous Hall of the Greek gods, a fusion of ancient Greek architecture and modern design.. Atreus had seen the building from afar multiple times before, but this was his first time being so close to it.

Walking his way towards the entrance with his father, the doors slowly creaked open, revealing the Throne Room of the Greek gods, which was without a doubt a sight to behold. The walls were made of marble, adorned with gold accents and intricately carved reliefs depicting the tales of the Greek gods over the thousands years of their life, from the moment that they defeated the Titan, to the day that they became the heart of the Western civilization. The floor was made of polished stone, reflecting the golden light that poured in from the high windows.

Standing in an inverted U shape around the a blazing hearth pit were the thrones of the Greek gods themselves, each of which being made of solid gold and bearing the design corresponding with the domains of their respective owners. High above, the blue ceiling could be seen glistening with constellations, which were so vivid Atreus had difficulty telling if he was actually looking at the night sky itself.

"Your guests have arrived, your majesty."

Turning his gaze down when he heard Aphrodite saying that, Atreus found himself staring into the deep, electric blue eyes of none other than the mighty king of the Greek gods, the god of thunder, Zeus himself as he turned to look at them. He was an imposing, but elderly looking man who wore a dark suit, similar to the one that Kratos was wearing but dark blue in color. His hair and beard were exceptionally long and stark white, as if emulating the clouds of his heavenly domain, but his face bore… a strange warmness that gave Atreus the positive feeling of a grandfather who overdressed himself to work.

More than half of the thrones in the room were emptied, including the one that belonged to Aphrodite, who told him that nowadays the Greek gods rarely ever gathered together anymore except for the meeting at the end of the year. However, for the ones that were occupied, Atreus did not have any problem telling which gods they were.

The first was a god, despite looking significantly different to the one that he knew, was someone that his father could instantly recognize. He had a flat-top haircut, similar to that of a military man and he had the outfit, with a tactical vest and gears, to suit the look. His face was covered with knife scars and also wore a pair of sunglasses that seemed to cover his flame filled eye sockets, giving him the look of a typical delinquent.

At the same time, however, Atreus could not help but feel that there was more to the god than he appeared, as he radiated a calm and collected demeanor similar to his father… which was rare, for a supposedly typical god of war. His father seemed to have noticed it too, and Atreus could see more relaxation coming from the man.

The second was a goddess, who was beautiful and regal but also looked somewhat scary with her sharp, stormy grey eyes and dark hair, the way a warrior goddess should look. She was dressed in a business suit, with pinstriped jacket over button up shirt and pencil skirt, all of which showed off her toned and attractive figure.

In a way, Athena reminded him of Sigrun, the powerful Valkyrie queen turned shield maiden.

Last but not least, a goddess that Atreus instantly recognized, because he had met her before. Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, who sat reclining sideways on her silver throne with a faintly glowing full moon above.

Their eyes met, and Atreus instantly felt the urge to slap himself when he saw her snickering in realization, casting her gaze momentarily over to Aphrodite. How could he forget about her? Atreus berated himself. She had seen him and Aphrodite together at the Huldra weapon shop, and just then realized that the goddess of love had known about him and his father for a while.

"Ah yes, the people of the hours. I was just wondering with my children here when you would arrive." Zeus spoke up in a booming voice that was filled with excitement, casting his gaze between Atreus and his father before looking at Aphrodite, giving her a nod of his head as he said "You have my gratitude for bringing them here, lady Aphrodite."

"You are welcome, your majesty." The goddess of love lowered her head to the king before going over to her throne to take her seat there. Atreus had heard from her that the Greek gods were all connected to their seats of powers, so he was not surprised to feel her power suddenly going off the chart the moment that she had made herself comfortable on her throne.

"Greetings, Kratos and young Atreus. Welcome to Olympus. I hope that you both have had a wonderful trip here with lady Aphrodite." Zeus then said as he approached Kratos and Atreus, stopping before them with his hand extending toward the father for a handshake. The man took it, giving the king of the Greek gods a nod of his head.

"It was… eventful. Olympia was as beautiful as they say." Kratos said simply as he shook hands with Zeus. It was a strange moment for him.

"Call me old fashioned if you want, but I much prefer its look during the ancient Greece era. My children and council, however, seem to think otherwise." Zeus laughed, making Atreus and Kratos exchange a look. Behind him, Athena appeared to share their opinion. "Enough about me and my old schooled vision. We are not here today to talk about how I want more statues to be built than gods running around the streets doing Tik…"

"Ahem… father." Athena cleared her throat and stopped Zeus before he could continue. Atreus could hear his father letting out a low grunt under his breath.

He could tell that the man was slowly starting to get irritated.

"My apology." Zeus chuckled in amusement, stroking his beard with one hand as he continued while looking at Kratos and Atreus "Nonetheless, I believe you are aware of the main reason I have invited you to Olympus today…"

"You want to see what we are about." Kratos said, and it was a statement, not a question.

"You are not wrong. As much as I invite you here just to personally thank you for defeating Hyperion, one of our most ancient enemies, I also would like to know more about the two of you. You who share the name with the son of Lord Pallas and Lady Styx but do not carry within you his soul like those mortal heroes, and you, the young man who fought side by side with my nephew against the mighty foe in Hyperion." Zeus said with a smile, looking at Atreus as he spoke about him "And trust that such need only comes from my curiosity. Even to this day, mortals continue to view me as a paranoid old man, which I know could be quite concerning for men like you two."

"You are correct." Kratos answered with a nod of his head. His tone was stern and calm as ever "And you can trust that what we did, we did only out of necessity. The Titan forced our hands when he threatened the life of my son and his friends. We had no other choice but to deal with him."

"And for that, we are thankful. I believe I can also speak for my brother Hades. You did us all a great favor keeping his son safe." Zeus said, and Athena lowered her head a little to them. Ares did the same, sending a nod of acknowledgement toward Kratos and Atreus. "Where do you come from, if I may ask? How come none of us have ever heard about either of you before?"

"We came from a faraway land, sir." Atreus answered, speaking up for the first time "It was only recently that we arrived and settled down in Japan. We only want to live our life in peace, so we mostly just keep to ourselves."

"A rather dull way to live for someone with your skills." Artemis joined.

"Not to us." Atreus replied to her simply.

"My daughter enjoys being in the wild, you see." Zeus explained with an amused chuckle. "Regardless, how you want to live your life is entirely your choice, though I am afraid it would soon come to an end."

"Khaos Brigade." Kratos said, and once again, the words he said were not a question.

"Correct. There is another reason I have invited you here today. It has come to my attention that your son has formed a bond with Rias Gremory of the devil faction, correct?" Zeus asked, his tone shifting to become more serious as he continued after Kratos had nodded his head "And recently, they have signed a peace treaty to form an alliance with the angels and fallen angels, which led them, and I believe pretty much everyone else, into conflict with the terrorist organization known as Khaos Brigade."

"Regrettably, we have reasons to believe that the heroes are also working with them." It was Ares who said that, turning their attention to him "They are mortals who possess powerful Sacred Gears and carry within them the souls of legendary heroes of the past. Those like Theseus, Jason, Perseus…"

"…Hercules?" Kratos added, sounding like he was assuming but Atreus knew he had run into the one who possessed the soul of Hercules during the battle of Kyoto.

"Yes, but that boy is dead. Should not take long for the soul to be born in a new host, though." Ares nodded his head in confirmation. "And there are also heroes from other pantheons. They might be children now, but some of them are formidable, with an interesting way of viewing the supernatural world around them. Not to mention in their hands are toys that could slay even us."

"Hah… I miss the day when heroes are just… heroes." Zeus said with a faraway look in his eyes and a sigh.

"And what about the Titans?" Kratos asked, and the look that Zeus had on his face darkened significantly as he said.

"We cannot rule out the possibility that the Titans were also working with Khaos Brigade after what Hyperion tried to do. Fortunately, Kronos, at the moment, is still being contained, and we are doing everything in our powers to help Hades keep our father from breaking free and joining his brethren." Zeus explained grimly.

"But many of them have already escaped Tartaros over the past few years." Athena explained, making Kratos look at her. It was hard for Atreus to tell what his father's feelings toward the goddess of wisdom was, since her counterpart was ultimately the one who had led him down the path of revenge and destruction for her own goal. "and without a doubt they will not take kindly to the death of their brother at your hand."

"You need not worry about us." Kratos stated firmly, with Atreus nodding his head alongside him in agreement. "If they come for us, then we will do what is necessary. We can take care of ourselves."

"Knowing how you slain Hyperion, I have no doubt about your capabilities." Zeus regarded them with a mix of admiration and concern. "But the threat of Mount Othrys working with the Khaos Brigade is not to be taken lightly, and that is me speaking without taking their leader, the Ouroboros dragon god Ophis, into consideration. We cannot rule out the possibility that a second Titanomachy. A war is coming, Kratos…"

Atreus grimaced at that word. It was only after fighting in Ragnarok that he truly understood the devastation and horror that accompanied a war. He knew it well, but his stories could not prepare Atreus for the weight of lives lost on his conscience.

"I have a proposition for you both." Zeus then said, his tone was serious and devoid of the playfulness that he had before "What do you think about siding with Olympus?"

"We…"

"You do not have to make that choice now. Actions will always speak louder than words." Zeus held up his hand and stopped Kratos before he could say anything, making the old god of war look at him and straighten himself up "Time has changed. We are living in a world where our enemies are coming together to form an alliance against us, and I have a feeling that in order for us all to survive, we must do the same."

"It is the best course of action… from a tactical standpoint." Ares gave his two cents, making Atreus glance at him. That sounded wrong… coming from Ares instead of Athena, even if she nodded her head in agreement with him.

"There has been talks about forming an official alliance between mythological systems in Asgard. It seems my old friend Odin wishes to use the Kuoh peace treaty as leverage to bring us all together." Zeus explained, nodding his head "Soon, he will make contact with the alliance of the Three Factions, and I am thinking about doing the same. Mount Othrys is our responsibilities, after all."

"Whether you accept our proposition or not, we are allies if you continue to stick around with the Three Factions." Artemis spoke, her words being directed toward Atreus, who had an urge to roll his eyes.

"So we have no other choice in such matters?" Kratos asked. He had, however, anticipated such an outcome.

"There are many types of allies, Kratos. There are those that are forced to work together toward a common goal, and there are those who join force to stand together against the enemies." Zeus shook his head and said, extending his hand forward in a handshake "I merely wish for us to stay on good terms with one another, so when the time comes, I will know who to trust my back to."

Kratos gazed at the outstretched hand in front of him, as a silence befell the grand half of the Greek gods. His face was an inscrutable mask, and Atreus could sense the mix of distrust and weariness coming from his father, understanding that while Zeus probably had his own motives wanting to ally Olympus with them. It was only logical for someone at his position to do so.

Ultimately, Kratos extended his own hand out and clasped it firmly with Zeus, who smiled and gave the ashen skinned man a nod of approval as they shook hands.

"And if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask any of us. You and your son have done Olympus a great favor, one that we shall never forget. It will stay open for you both. Feel free to come and go as you please." Zeus announced, his relaxed and energetic demeanor returning as he turned his gaze to Athena, who nodded and stepped up to stand by his side "Now if you excuse me, Athena and I have other matters to attend to. We will meet again soon, and I hope it will be on a term as good as this one."

And with that, thunder shook the palace. With a blinding flash of lightning, Zeus and Athena were both gone, leaving the air where they stood smelt of ozone and crackling with electricity.

"I hope to see you in combat again soon, young Atreus. It has been a while since we have had a young hero of your caliber, except for Zagreus, of course." Ares said with a smile as he rose from his throne, turning his gaze from Atreus to Kratos "You as well, Kratos. Stay sharp, and keep your weapons sharper."

With that said, he teleported away in a cloud of dark red energy. Atreus could hear the engine noise of a motorcycle rumbling outside as it drove away, and wondered if it was Ares.

"You heard Ares." Artemis said, being the only one who left through the front door. Once she had stepped through the entrance, Atreus could not sense her presence anymore, believing that she had left.

With just him, his father and Aphrodite left in the throne room, Atreus let out a breath that he did not know he was holding, exhaling longingly while Aphrodite slumped further into her seat, smiling again finally. Kratos remained as impassive as usual, but he had a thoughtful look about him as he gazed at the blazing fire of the central hearth. Atreus wanted to ask him how he felt, but he knew he would be better off leaving the man to his thoughts and feelings for the time being.

"Well, that certainly went better than I anticipated." The goddess of love commented as she got up and approached Atreus and Kratos, who then turned on their heels and went outside with her, stopping at the carriage where Mimir was waiting for them.

"So, what now?" Aphrodite asked, with Atreus agreeing with her, having wanted to ask the same thing.

"We go back to our live. Continue training the devils, and prepare ourselves for what is coming." Kratos said seriously, making Atreus nod his head to him.

Aphrodite, meanwhile, appeared to have a different idea.

"Uh… yeah, of course, but I mean now now, not… now like that." She said, causing Kratos to grunt audibly in annoyance as she clung to Atreus, hugging herself to his arms "How about we go celebrate? I can certainly use a drink right now. You?"

"I guess… Today has been stressful enough already." With that said, he then turned his attention over to his father, and asked him with a smile "You wanna come too, father? We can show you around."

"Hrgn…" Kratos did not say anything, only grunting as he usually did when feeling annoyed. However, the man also did not move from his spot, simply turning his attention back to the carriage with a gesture of his head toward the cabin.

"Oh right, what about Mimir?" Atreus decided to ask, turning his attention back to the goddess of love

"Trust me when I say that a talking, reanimated is not the weirdest thing someone ever brings into a bar around here. You can bring him along." Aphrodite told him with a soft, amused laugh, making both Atreus and Kratos look at her doubtfully before the ashen skinned man headed inside to get Mimir, who was eager to hear how the meeting went as they traveled to the nearest bar together.

It was the day that they would leave for the Underworld for summer vacation, and Atreus and Kratos had just finished packing up their belongings. For Atreus, it was a backpack containing his clothes and some books, while his father had a large suitcase for his own belongings and their gear, many of which Atreus had never realized that he had brought along from their home world. The blades and axe were both wrapped neatly in his old Spartan cloth and secured with straps inside a third case, which was compact enough for Kratos to carry around without drawing attention.

"What about me, brother?"

"You will stay in the bag until we reach this station, Mimir."

"Oh. Good to know then."

"Come, Fenrir!"

Atreus called for his pet wolf before the three of them headed down to eat breakfast with Rias and Akeno, who had prepared a grand feast for all of them. Once they finished eating, the group grabbed their belongings and left the house, meeting up with the rest of the peerage at Kuoh academy, where they traveled together to the train station.

"It is tradition for a first timer to travel by train to the Underworld." Akeno reminded Atreus of what she had told him during their trip to Niðavellir on the Bifrost express, making him grin in response while walking next to his father.

While the station was completely empty with no one around but them, the single train that it had looked even fancier than the Bifrost express, being nearly two times longer than any normal train that Atreus had ever seen, with the steam engine exuding an air of opulence. Crimson, the signature color of the Gremory, was the dominant color among the swirling of black and gold, shimmering in the light with the metal surface giving off a polished shine, reflecting the group even though he was still standing several meters away.

"Sup, y'all!" Azazel greeted them, standing next to a middle aged devil who was finely dressed in the train conductor uniform bearing the crest of the Gremory devil household. The governor of Grigori, and currently chemistry teacher at Kuoh academy, was wearing a large trench coat, and looked relatively excited for the trip.

"How long have you been here?" Rias asked in slight displeasure.

"Well, I just arrived. I got a few works to do in the Underworld, so I thought why not tag along with you guys for the trip. It will be my first time riding the famous Gremory train too." Azazel answered, before glancing at the black case Kratos was carrying, asking in interest with a finger pointing at it "Does it contain what I think it does?"

"Yes."

"Can I take a look at them later?"

"No."

Kratos answered matter of factly and went on ahead, boarding the train with the conductor lowering his head to him and guiding him to the right direction with a gesture of his hand, leaving Azazel to stand there and chuckle like a fool while rubbing the back of his head.

"Well, I tried."

After that, everyone boarded the train, which was even more extravagant on the inside than it was on the outside, looking more like a fancy lounge with couches centered around tables rather than chairs lining the sides like a normal train. All of them were posh and elegant, the kind one could expect to see in a ritzy 5-star hotel.

They split up into their own little groups. Issei and Asia shared a seat while Koneko, Gasper, Xenovia and Kiba took theirs across from them, the first and second year sitting together around a table. Atreus, meanwhile, sat with his father and Mimir while having the two empty spots at his sides booked by Rias and Akeno, who had gone to check in with the train driver together.

"Wow, so this is what the people here mean when they say travel in style." Atreus said as he made himself comfortable in his seat, making Mimir, who was put on the table, chuckled in amusement while Kratos just snorted and leaned back into his seat.

Soon, the train started moving, leaving the station behind to travel through the barriers that separated the Underworld and the human world. The hours passed idly with everyone spending their time chatting or playing games, with Atreus eventually joining the younger group in a game of cards with Rias and Akeno after they returned, allowing Azazel to take over their seat and engage Kratos and Mimir in a conversation. Atreus decided to not eavesdrop, but occasionally he would glance at them, and saw his father talking to Azazel in a civil manner, while the governor held in his hand a notebook with the pencil sketch of something that looked like a body. Atreus had no doubt that he was coming closer to finish building Mimir a body, and wanted the man to give his own inputs of what it should look like.

After two hours of playing card games, the group decided to call it, with some falling asleep. As the others slept side by side, Atreus returned to his seat and sat watching Rias and Mimir play chess together while eating. The smartest head reanimated proved himself to be a formidable player despite having only learnt to play it recently, beating Rias in every game that they played except for the one that he decided to show her a new strategy that she could try out.

After another hour of traveling, the train eventually arrived at the Underworld, which did not look that much different from the human world, with the only exception being the sky, which was purple in color. As the train started to descend, Atreus could also see a large, floating island that was seemingly suspended in midair, with water pouring down from the edges like waterfalls. The catalog that he found under his seat showed him that it was the territory of the Agares devil household as well as a popular tourist resort that controls the flow of the air in the Underworld.

Eventually, the Gremory train pulled into a station and slowed down to a stop. A glance out the window was enough for Atreus to see hundreds of people standing outside, holding in their hands large posters and banners. While there were some for Akeno and Kiba, and even Koneko and Asia, each and every one of those banners had pictures of Rias, or at least her name written in crimson color and circled by heart symbols.

"Wow, someone is really popular." Atreus grinned while Rias held back an urge to roll as she gazed out of the windows to find where the carriages of her family were waiting. Fanboys might be tolerable in the past, but now that she was dating Atreus, it was unreal how annoying they had become, especially the ones that hated her boyfriend.

"That is an understatement, senpai." Kiba spoke to him before walking on ahead, having already packed up his thing so that he could accompany his master with Akeno.

"You are not coming with us, Azazel?" Atreus asked as he stood up, noticing Azazel who was still sitting at his table.

"Nah, you guys go on ahead." The governor answered with a simple wave of his hand "I plan to visit Lilith today. I have a meeting with Sirzechs and the others there after all."

"Say hello to my brother, Azazel."

Azazel nodded his head at Rias, allowing her to continue leading the group toward the exit with Atreus and his family following closely behind them.

The instant that she walked out of the train, a roar went up. Applause echoed across the station like thunder striking the ground. People cheered and whistled as soldiers aimed their guns at the sky and fired simultaneously. Above them, fireworks exploded, creating vivid colors to ignite the purple sky, with brilliant soaring vermilion, golden and crimson flares bursting into flowers as a soldier riding atop a griffon flew over their heads and raised a long flag behind him.

[Welcome home! Rias-ojou-sama.]

"Rias-sama! Rias-sama has returned!"

"There she is! Over here, Rias-sama!"

"You are so beautiful!"

"We love you!"

The gunshots ended, but the people continued to cry out and cheer in excitement as Rias walked past them with the grace and confidence of a noble young lady with her peerage following closely behind her. The smile never left her face the whole time, as she waved her hand to the overly excited crowds of young devils before greeting the maids and servants working for her family when they simultaneously bowed their heads to her.

"Hey, look at that guy. The one walking between the wolf and that big man."

"That guy must be Atreus, right?"

"Yeah. I heard he was dating Rias-sama!"

"Outrageous!"

"Fuck, I already want to kill him!"

"Be careful, he was the guy that beat Riser Phenex to a bloody pulp."

"And are you already forgetting what he did recently? He fought the Titan Hyperion!"

"Bullshit! Surely it was the son of Hades who did all the work."

"Father, can I shoot one of them?" Atreus leaned toward his father and asked, his tone half joking. Kratos simply snorted in response before he entered the carriage with his son and the rest of the group.

Their next trip was short, but eventful. Atreus took his time sightseeing, feeling like his child self once again as he took in everything around him, but the one thing that impressed him and all the newcomers the most were the Gremory Residence, an enormous mansion in the center of a land the size of the Honshu in Japan. The surrounding areas was also rich in nature, with mountains, plains, forests and hills that seemed to stretch out for miles.

"Wah! Rias-onee sama is really a princess! She is really a princess!" Asia gawked, while Issei and Xenovia shared with her a look of utter shock and amazement as they stepped out of the carriage and stood staring with wide eyes at the castle-like mansion before them.

"Welcome home, Ojou-sama!" Another quire of maids and butlers, led by none other than Grayfia, greeted with deep bows of their heads when the group entered the mansion, making Rias smile and nod her head to them.

"Welcome home, Rias-sama. How do you do, everyone?" Grayfia greeted Rias and her peerage herself, before turning her attention over to Kratos and his family, with Atreus still looking around as he followed his father into the mansion. "Welcome to the Gremory Residence, Kratos-sama, Atreus-san, Mike-san."

"Hello." Mimir and Atreus greeted while Kratos simply nodded his head to her in acknowledgement, allowing Grayfia to lower her head to him before leading the whole group into the living room of the mansion. Like every other room in the mansion, it held an appearance that was beyond exorbitant with soft crimson carpet on the floor. The walls were decorated with a quite range of expensive looking artworks, while a glistening crystal chandelier hung from the exquisite ceiling.

"Rias. Welcome home." Zeoticus and Venelana, who appeared to have been waiting for them with a young boy with short crimson hair and red eyes similar to the maid leading them, beamed as they rose from their seats and approached them.

"Otou-sama. Okaa-sama. I have returned." Rias smiled at her parents, allowing them to pull her into a warm hug. Atreus could not help but smile at them, before he turned his attention over to the crimson haired boy, who stood next to Venelana looking at them, or specifically, Fenrir.

"Hey, you wanna pet him?" Atreus asked him, getting down on one knee next to Fenrir with his hand slowly petting his head. The boy looked at them unsurely in response. "Fenrir is a really good boy. He won't hurt you."

Hesitantly, the boy started moving toward them with one hand slowly reaching toward Fenrir, who simply tilted his head to the side and stared at the boy in a rather curious manner in response. It was only when his hand had touched the side of his head that Fenrir got up and started wagging his tail, making the boy coo and laugh in response, making the adult Gremory smile at the sight.

"You are Millicas Gremory, aren't you?" Atreus asked, grinning as Millicas started heartily petting Fenrir as he leaned forward and gently licked at his face, swiping away all the nervousness and uncertainty that he had left.

"Yes, and you are Atreus-onii chan."

"Nice to meet you, Millicas." Atreus grinned and shook hands with Millicas, who also politely lowered his head to him.

"One day, Kratos, you will have a grandchild to spoil just like us here with Millicas."

Zeoticus spoke to the ashen skinned man after shaking hands with him. Although he had a different idea when it came to spoiling, Kratos did not hesitate to nod his head in response.

End of chapter 30

Note: And that's the end of this chapter! Hope that you guys have enjoyed reading it!

And Merry (late) Christmas!

This chapter took me a bit to finish, since I wanted to make the meeting as realistic as possible with the ways I want it to go based on the world building of DxD universe and how I want to portrays the gods of Olympus as well as their roles in this story, which will get a whole lot more important from now on now that they have been properly introduced.

Keep in mind that their portrayals are heavily inspirited by how they were in the game HADES, with Ares being the most interested case. (He's still a bloodthirsty warmonger, yes, but I feel that he's more calm and collected than how he is portrayed in most medias, including God of war series itself, and I much prefer this version of Ares more. Simply put, he's more like how Mars, his Roman self who is disciplined, honorable and strategic, is portrayed in Percy Jackson and less of the brutal, arrogant and even somewhat dumb Ares. Of course, I will be sure to keep some of his classic personalities, but he will be different from the Ares that Kratos knows.)

I hope you like how I portrayed the other gods, including Athena, Artemis (who finally shows up again), and of course, Zeus. This won't be the last time that you guys will see them, and in fact, they will join the story again soon with the way I want this story to go. Of course, Hades and Zagreus will also become story regular really soon (reminder that Hades in this story is the same as canon DxD Hades, who is evil) and we will have the mythological side of the world become a much bigger part in the plot with both Olympus and Asgard joining the alliance.

And that will be it for now. Once again, I hope that everyone has had a great time reading this chapter, and as always, leave behind a REVIEW once you have finished reading! Please give me a lot of reviews and feedbacks to inspire me to write faster and better, okay!?
