Book 1 recap:

"Brother, it seems we have a new family member," Aro said so quietly, but that statement rang out through everyone's ears like a wrecking ball through a building.

Chapter 1 – Introductions

I couldn't help but gulp. "I…. I beg your pardon. What do you mean by family member? I know for a fact I'm not related to any one of you. No offense."

"Haha, not in relation child. More of, bonds per say. Marcus?" Aro turned to Marcus.

"My child, my power is that I can see bonds and relationships. I can see the thread between people. Thin or thick, different colors, the intensity of them. Like yours and Jaspers, for example, you two have a serene blue color. It's calm, unstrained. But I see a knot."

"A knot?" I looked at Jasper as he shrugged.

"Yes, I believe it's caused by the hunter magic. It won't allow an entirely full connection. That of course is because he's a vampire. But it's strong. No doubt. The fact you've been able to accept it thus far without problems is by no means an easy feat."

I just nodded. I couldn't really say anything. It is true that I was able to accept the bond without issues. But maintaining it, was a small struggle due to my powers. It wanted to reject it. But I didn't tell Jasper that. He doesn't need to worry more.

"The bonds you share are with certain vampires here," he gestured around the room. "I will not say to whom, that will be revealed in time." Marcus said and sat down.

"Excellent," Aro stated. He clapped his hands, "now, whilst you are here, we would all like to get to know you…."

Caius scoffed, "speak for yourself brother."

Aro side glanced him, "as I was saying, we would like to get to know you. It's not every day we come across the hunter. Your stay here will be of no intrusion. You may go anywhere in the castle you would like, but you must have an escort. I trust that my staff will do you no harm, but as you very well know, we do have newborns, so they're thirst may be their last. Haha, I know you can handle yourself."

I nodded, "I understand. I do not want to cause you trouble by dismembering your staff."

I noticed Caius roll his eyes. I really wondered what his problem was.

"Also, I would really like to see your skills. Caius you will show our guest the training grounds and let her see how the guard's practice."

"What?!" Caius nearly shouted.

"Need I repeat myself brother?" Aro turned to look at him.

I couldn't help myself, "what's the matter Caius? Scared I can take you?" Jasper elbowed me in the side.

"You just try it human," Caius said as he made his way down the steps.

Aro stopped him. "Now now, brother. We must treat our guests with respect."

"She must give respect to get it brother," Caius growled.

"Took the words right out of my mouth," I growled back with my eyes glowing. Jasper and Peter were holding me back.

"Pigeon, you need to calm down," Peter whispered.

"Tell that to pointy over there," I said as I stopped and calm down.

"Jane, be a dear and show our guests their rooms." Aro smiled. He dragged Caius away. Marcus bowed towards us before he followed them.

"This way," Jane sighed as she gestured toward the doors that led out of the throne room. We followed her down the main hallway and up some flight of stairs.

"December and Major's rooms are in the wing of Master Aro. He has tighter security, so you will be safest there. Peter and Ms. Charlette, your rooms are down the hall to the right. You're near me and my brother Alex." As we came up on double doors, she said these were my rooms while Jasper is right next door. "These rooms are spacious, but they do connect to each other. My master has asked Jasper what your tastes are like, please let me know if something does not suit you, I will fix it. Now, Peter, Ms. Charlette, if you will follow me please." Jane said as she left.

I didn't know quite what to expect on the other side of the door. "What did she mean by they asked you?"

"Aro called me back by my personal number. He asked what your favorite color was and what calmed you. I figured it was for the rooms you were to have, so I told him. Open the doors." He smiled.

"Fine," I sighed. When I did, I was in shock. The room was huge, with a balcony. That wasn't what caught my eyes first. The whole room was decorated like a forest. Greens, browns, flowers. The bed was huge. Behind the bed the wallpaper had a huge willow tree, but fairy lights dangled from the ceiling like a canopy over the bed. They were dim, would make an excellent light for reading. There was a dresser, a couch and a few chairs throughout the room. The carpet was dark green with cream color swirled around throughout. There was a small walk-in closet and a ensuite bathroom which continued the theme.

"So... what do you think?" Jasper asked as he took a seat in one of the arm chairs.

"I appreciate the attention to detail. The fairy lights are a nice touch." I said as I reached up to touch them.

"You look like a little wood fairy the way the light is playing off your hair," Jasper said.

I looked at him, "all I need are wings." He laughed, looking amused.

There was a knock at the door. Jasper went to answer it.

"Room service sir, for the lady," he told Jasper handing him a tray.

"Thank you," Jasper replied and closed the door. He brought the tray over and sat it down.

"Hungry?" he asked. I nodded but looked at the balcony, I went over and opened the doors. To my delight, there was a table with chairs, "I want to eat here," I say as I turned around. Jasper was already bringing the tray over. "You know me so well," I laughed.

"It is a lovely night," he said as he set the tray down and looking up at the sky.

I looked down and saw spaghetti and meatballs. Ice cream too!

"Here they call it gelato, tastes much better." Jasper mentioned.

"Oh, and wine! They mean to get me drunk then kill me," I said pouring a glass.

"Haha, smartass, eat up, I can hear your stomach from here." Jasper said as he went to stand near the barrier.

I did eat up, because all of it was delicious.

There you have it lovelies. Short, but introductions needed to be out of the way. I know you're wondering who her bonds are with. They will be revealed as the story goes, you may have guessed them already. Time will tell😊
