Ch: 1

"I want it done, no more delays," Father snapped.

He hung up before I could respond. I tossed my phone onto the table in front of me and signaled to the bartender to bring me a drink.

"What did Da want?" Emmett asked.

"For me to hurry up already and find a wife. Same spiel he's been giving me for a year now," I grumbled as I nodded to Alec as he placed my glass in front me.

"Two." Emmett held up his fingers and smirked.

"Don't be an eejit. Like it's easy to find a girl to fit into our lifestyle, who isn't some pampered, snotty princess. My bride isn't going to just walk through the door." I picked up my drink with one hand and waved the other to the entrance.

As I gestured, a petite brunette in a white gown and tiara entered.

"Bro, you've gotta teach me that trick," Emmett joked.

The bride was breathtakingly beautiful with two spiral tendrils framing her face while the rest of her curls were piled on top of her head. Whoever married her was a lucky man. Or maybe not—since she looked rather pissed—fuck she was probably a bridezilla. She met my eye and stormed over to the table. Something probably went wrong at the wedding the hotel was hosting, and instead of my staff taking care of it, I was now about to deal with an irate bride.

"Fuck," I muttered under my breath. I braced myself and flipped the switch to my cold, no nonsense businessman.

She came to a stop, and I saw red rims around her puffy eyelids. Whatever happened had been bad enough to make her cry on her wedding day. My resolve was already starting to flicker.

"You look like two normal guys. Mind if I ask you a question?" she asked, catching me off guard.

Emmett and I exchanged a look. He shrugged, looking rather amused by the situation.

"Shoot," he said.

"Am I ugly?" she asked.

I blinked at the absurd question. "What?"

"Am I ugly? Do guys really prefer blondes?" She touched her hair. "Or is it my boobs; are they too small?" Her hands moved to her cleavage and my eyes followed.

"Well…" I elbowed Emmett before he could say anything crass.

I leaned forward, placing my drink down. "You look beautiful. Not all men. And our mother raised us better than to answer that last question." Her lips twitched slightly but she still looked upset. "Dare I ask, what could have possibly happened to upset you on a day that was supposed to be the happiest day of your life?"

The brief smile fell from her face and the scowl returned. "I think it's safe to say it can qualify as the worst. I was headed down to the ceremony when I passed by a supply closet, only to hear noises emitting from it that sounded like a humpback whale's mating call. A sound I know only far too well, so I threw open the door to see my fiancé. Excuse me…ex-fiancé, fucking the wedding coordinator five minutes before the ceremony was supposed to begin," she ranted as she flopped into the chair across from me.

"Your fiancé sounds like a whale?" Emmett snickered.

Her eyes narrowed, which only added to his amusement. "That's what you got?"

This time I kicked him and gave the poor girl a look I hoped was more sympathetic. "Please, tell me this is a sick joke?"

"I wish. The only sick part is he had the audacity to ask me to join them." She wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Of course, I called off the wedding. Then the blonde skank handed me the bill and said I have to pay in full before the end of the night. Michael stated he refuses to pay his half since I won't marry his cheating ass. So, here I am trying to track down Mr. Cullen about the bill. I was told he was here by the girl at the front desk." She looked past us to a table where an older gentleman was sitting. "Hopefully, he'll be willing to negotiate."

"You're going to try to get out of paying? I hear the owner's a real tight ass." Emmett side-eyed me.

She rubbed her forehead. "Of course not. It isn't fair to all the staff, who have worked hard today, not to get paid. I used to wait tables; I know the pay is shitty. Nor is it Mr. Cullen's fault. I have what should've been my half. But I don't have Michael's. There's no family I can ask. Nearly all the guests here are his family and friends, not mine. I'm hoping to work out a payment plan—even if it means interest. I'm sorry for my rant, I would buy you both a drink as an apology, but I'm afraid I'm broke." She stood and headed to the table in the far corner.

I had moments to decide how to handle this before she realized who I was. Most times I didn't give a dam about the circumstances, you owe what you owe. But there was something different with this girl. I raised my glass to finally take a sip when Jasper rushed in and over to the table.

"Boss, we've got a situation with the Swan-Newton Wedding." He took a seat.

"Why is it I can never get a damn drink without one of you jokers saying we've got a problem? Why can't you solve them yourselves?" I put my glass on the table then noticed his eye. "And what happened to your face?"

"I've tried to handle it, but things escalated quickly. I caught a bridesmaid's elbow when I pulled her off of Heidi," he stated.

"Sounds to me if Heidi deserved her ass being kicked." Emmett snickered.

"How did—"

"The bride beat you here." I nodded in her direction. "And she had a very interesting story to tell."

"What is she doing here? I thought she was in her room crying her eyes out or something." Jasper stared at her.

"She was looking for me. But not before ranting about her cheating ex. It's only moments before she realizes she spilled it all to me, giving me the time to decide how to handle this," I said, watching her head to a second table of old men.

"How else is there to handle it? She owes. What kind of precedence will it set if you let her off the hook for a broken heart?" Emmett asked.

I drummed my fingers on the table. "Oh, I still plan on getting paid—just not by her. These days all types of reviews go online. I'm not about to have my hotel submerged in scandal because of a slutty wedding coordinator who doesn't know how to keep her legs shut, or a douche groom, who can't keep it in his pants. This isn't that type of establishment. I want Heidi gone effective immediately."

"Like gone…gone to the fishes gone?" Emmett asked.

"No. Terminate the bitch, I don't want to see her face at any of my establishments. Now as for this Michael…" I looked at Jasper.

"Newton," he supplied.

"Why is his name familiar," I demanded.

"He works for the family," Jasper answered.

"Made?" I questioned, and he shook his head.

"Good. Michael is going to pay every cent back and more, since I will be refunding Miss Swan her deposit. When he's done, then, Emmett, you can have your fun with him," I told them, and Emmett's smirk grew.

"You're going to punish him for getting some pussy?" Jasper questioned.

I slammed my fist on the table. "Since when do you question orders? You follow them! Take care of Heidi." I turned to Emmett. "Newton is all yours."

"Yes, Boss," they replied.

My eyes went back to Miss Swan as she approached the bar. She spoke with Alec for a moment. He pointed her in our direction. She spun and turned bright red when she caught my eye. She squared her shoulders and stormed back to the table.

"Did you find my whole display funny?" she asked.

"Well, the whale thing was funny." Emmett snickered.

Miss Swan arched an eyebrow as she turned her glare at him. "Mr. Cullen?"

"Technically. But it's this Cullen you want." Emmett stood and patted my shoulder. "Good luck. We've got jobs to do, Jasper."

Jasper slowly got to his feet. "Again, Miss Swan, my sincerest apologies for the mishap. And tell your friend, Alice, she packs quite a punch."

"Alice hit you?" Bella's ire faded to a bemused smile.

"Not on purpose, more like a wayward elbow as she clocked Heidi," he answered before walking away.

"Please, sit." I gestured. "And no, nothing that has happened tonight was amusing."

"Why didn't you tell me you were Mr. Cullen?" she demanded.

"My intent was never to embarrass you. May I get you a drink, and we can talk this through?" I waved my hand to get Alec's attention.

"Something strong, stiff, and fruity." She sank into the seat, looking defeated. Alec confirmed he had heard her and went back to the bar.

"Mr. Cullen—" she started.

"Please, call me Edward," I interrupted her.

She hesitated for a moment. "Edward, I'm sorry for my scene earlier," she lamented.

"You have nothing to apologize for. Given what has happened I think you've handled yourself remarkably, Miss Swan."

"My name is Bella. Mr…Edward, I'm not trying to get out of paying what I owe. I'm just asking for more time, seeing that I had some unforeseen circumstances," she asked.

"The answer is no." I shook my head. Before I could continue, her eyes started to brim with tears.

"Please, sir. I'm only a kindergarten teacher. I don't make—"

I held up my hand, stopping her. "You're right. Teachers barely make any more shit pay than most waitstaff. But just so you know, I do pay my staff more than minimum wage since I want my guests to have the best service."

She flushed in embarrassment. "I—"

"Bella, I have come to a decision. You owe me nothing. In fact, I will be returning your deposit and any additional money you've already had to pay," I informed her.

She blinked furiously rather than looked pleased. During the moment of silence, Alec placed her drink in front of her. She took a long sip then plucked the umbrella out and twirled it in her fingers.

"Why would you do that? I know I owe the money, you don't need to take pity on me," she questioned me.

"Rest assured, I will get paid, but not by you. After what you went through, it would be rather cruel to make you pay for the whole thing. If the press gets wind of it, it would be bad for business. I'll get what is owed to me from Michael himself. You may or may not know this, but it just so happens he works for me, in one of my other businesses. I will not tolerate my employees to conduct themselves in such a horrible manner. Heidi, you'll be happy to know, no longer works for me," I explained to her.

Her shoulders relaxed and her eyes looked relieved. "I don't know what to say. Thank you. You have been more than kind."

"It seems to me you do know what to say. You're welcome." I winked at her, causing her to blush.

"I'm sorry for intruding on your night with my blight. I'll leave you to your drink in peace." She started to stand.

"You don't have to rush away. Please, stay and enjoy your drink." I wasn't ready for her to go just yet.

"I probably shouldn't. I haven't eaten all day, and it will go straight to my head." She glanced at the glass apprehensively.

"Then by all means, you should eat. I'll have the kitchen send a meal over for you since the reception meal is just sitting there." I regretted my words instantly as I'm sure the failed wedding still stung.

She huffed and rolled her eyes. "I'm not too sure about that. I wouldn't put it past his family to head straight for the food. Michael's parents are pretty entitled elitists."

"All the more Michael will owe." I shrugged. "But still, we should eat. I haven't eaten all day myself. I would like you to join me," I offered.

"I'm not going to be the best company," she warned.

"I'm a big boy, I can handle it." I smirked. "Chicken or beef?"

A smile formed on her face. "Beef."

"Alec, have the kitchen send over two beef dishes from the wedding. Immediately," I called out to him.

"Yes, Mr. Cullen." He tossed down his rag and went to the phone on the wall.

I took a long sip of my drink as I watched her play with a tiny umbrella in her hand. "For the record, my brother would tell you I'm not the best company either."

"I disagree, you have been more than kind. Not many would humor a girl on the verge of a breakdown, who ranted the male gender sucks." She laughed sadly before she took a sip of her drink.

"It wasn't as bad as you think. But I do have to agree with my brother, Emmett, on one thing? He sounded like a whale?"

She spurted a little as she started to laugh. She grabbed her napkin and dabbed at her lips daintily. "Yes, talk about a mood killer."

"Then see, maybe you were saved today from a lifetime mistake. You should have a shark in the bedroom." I winked at her, testing the waters to see if I'd gone too far.

A light pink colored her cheeks, but she met my look with a raised eyebrow. "Maybe. I've always liked a challenge."

"So why kindergarten?" I changed the subject.

Bella's eyes lit up for the first time. "I love working with kids that age. Most are happy and carefree. I think my favorite part is story time and seeing their reactions to the books."

"So, you want kids one day?" I fished.

"It was definitely my hope. Who knows now?" She sighed in disappointment and took another long drink.

"I'm sure it will happen. You're young and beautiful," I complimented her.

She ducked her head and looked flattered yet embarrassed at the same time. She took another big gulp of her drink. "You're very kind. What about you and your wife? Any kids?"

"I'm not married, yet. However, hopefully one day soon." Very soon, I thought.

An idea was forming in my head—it would be probably one of the most diabolical things I would do. Bella was sweet and good, and she didn't deserve to be dragged into my hell. However, I reasoned, thanks to Michael, she would've been involved anyways. At least, I would be able to provide and protect her better than that pissant.

"I'm sure a guy like you will find the lucky girl soon." She grinned at me.

"That's the plan." I downed my drink and signaled for another. "Would you like another?"

She shook her head. "No way. I shouldn't even have had this one." She glanced around.

"How about a dance, while we wait?" I asked her.

Her eyes widened comically. "You don't want to dance with me. I'm a klutz. With alcohol in me it will only be worse. I'll trip and step all over you."

"Come now. I doubt it will be that bad. Besides, every bride deserves to dance on her wedding night." I winked at her.

"Every bride should get fucked on her wedding night too." Her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed. "Sorry, I tend to lose my filter when I drink. This is why I don't drink on an empty stomach."

"But you're not wrong." I snickered and winked at her. I turned toward the bar. "Where is our food?"

Alec looked nervous. "I'll go check on it myself, boss." He disappeared into the back.

"What happened to everyone?" Bella looked around the empty room.

"We're closed for the night," I explained to her.

"Oh. I should go then." She stood up and wavered a bit.

I jumped to my feet to steady her. "You don't have to rush away. So, how about that dance while we wait? You don't have to worry about tripping, it's all in the leading." I lifted her hand slowly to my lips, placing a kiss to the back of it.

Her eyes followed my movements, and she sucked in a tiny breath. Her eyes darkened and her body gravitated closer to mine.

"Prove it," she countered.

I grinned and went over to the bar. I grabbed the remote to turn up the music and changed it to something more suitable. I walked back over to the bride and pulled her into my arms. There wasn't a lot of space for dancing, making me have to hold her closer to me, but she didn't seem to mind. She was the perfect height for me, with her head coming up level to my shoulder.

After a few moments of swaying, her eyes closed, and her head rested against my chest. I started to second guess my plan. It would be dirty and underhanded, even for me. The girl in my arms was too innocent to be dragged into my world. Bella rubbed herself up against me, and whether it was intentional or not, I didn't know. What I did know was my body reacted to her, and I didn't stop my cock from twitching against her stomach.

I expected her to pull away from me, blushing like an innocent schoolgirl. Instead, she looked up at me with eyes full of desire, begging to be kissed. I tested the waters and leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Her response surprised me. She came alive and instantly kissed me back with vigor. Her arms wrapped around my neck, and she tried to deepen the kiss.

I pulled back from her. "Careful, you're playing with fire."

"Maybe I'm secretly a pyro," she countered with a lustful glint in her eye.

"Is that so?" My grin grew, as my resolve of any hesitancy faded. "You could be dancing with the devil you know."

"Just because I teach kindergarten doesn't mean I'm an angel." She huffed. "I'll have you know when I was in college I had a wild period. Sometimes I miss those days."

"Well then if there was any time that you should be wild and carefree it should be tonight." I led her to the bar and poured us both a shot of whiskey.

"To tonight being the start of a new future." I toasted her.

My eyebrows raised as I watched her tip it back and down it as if it was water. She put the glass down and licked her lips. Our eyes met only moments before our lips. I grabbed her by the hips and lifted her, setting her on the bar. I pushed her legs apart to stand between them, and she locked her ankles together behind my waist.

Her hands clutched my shirt, holding me to her. I pushed up the skirt of her dress and then my hands hovered over the button of my pants. My erection throbbed against my zipper, begging to be released.

"Last chance to back out," I told her.

She responded by pushing my hand out of the way and stroking my cock before releasing it. I entered her—sealing our fate.

A/N: Welcome to my new story. If you haven't figured it out, yes, it will be a mobward. I know there are some who aren't keen on that so I will state that up front since it's not a secret.

I will be updating every Friday.

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts with me.
