Summary: The School year starts, why the hell is there a limousine infront of the University? A rumor that the 2nd Pirate King is back? Count Ace in.
AKA, Luffy gets an embarrassing (to the spectators who are embarrassed for him) car ride to school. The Portgas-Gol D. family is introduced. FT. My cousin who wrote the first paragraph
BTW, if you're confused as to why Luffy dresses femininely (ex. His light blue apron skirt). He wore kimonos and yukatas in Japan. He finds pants and even some short constricting now.
Ace rolled over the bed and dropped to the floor, as his father shouted "IDIOT COME DOWN! IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR GODDAMN SCHOOL YEAR AND YOU'RE STILL SLEEPING!" Roger yelled from downstairs before he sighed and looked over to his lovely wife, Rouge, "Why is your son like that?" he asked, his wife giggles with his reaction and replied with "Like father, like son" she smiled. Roger adored her giggles and smile so he leans over for a ki—.
"Yo, dad wtf?"
"Language, Ace. Sabo, help your brother out." It boggles Roger to no end how his wife knows these new ways of communication. Sabo, their son who was more alike with Rouge than Ace ever did, stood up from his seat from the dining table and pulled out a chair for the freckled teen.
"I don't need you doing that... Ohmp." Ace complained but still sat on the sturdy wooden chair and face planted on to the table's flat surface.
"Yeah, whatever you say. Narcoleptic Idiot."
Today is his and Sabo's 3rd school year in Grandline University, another year without him. The entire family seated around the dining table, Sabo eyed Ace; he was making a face again.
"Ace..." He started, the clanging of forks and spoons stopped. The parents took a glance at the young men, Sabo's eyes were saying 'Don't, I can handle it.' and they trusted their blond son.
For a long time, Ace and him, in this current life. Were incomplete, sure they were related now, their biological parents alive and healthy (he was sure Ace wasn't exactly thrilled to have Roger as his father again at first). Sabo was happy he had parents that genuinely cared and loved him for who he is, parents that supported his life choices and guided him through-out this life. However, the empty piece in their heart bothered both Portgas brothers to no end.
The 2nd Pirate King, the one to receive the old worn-out straw hat from the 1st Pirate King, the one dubbed as the 'Pirate Prince', 'Crownless King' or 'Uncrowned King', the one to give them a meaning to their last life, the one who was kind and brave enough to fight the entire world and give it to them and think that it wasn't sufficient enough. The one they called little brother, had given them ALL a second chance at life.
They all had unfair circumstances from shining as bright as he did, they were all chained by something that deterred their ability reach out and grab his hand and be pulled to freedom. That had angered the Pirate King. His crew, Nakama, family, friends, enemies, rivals... They were all victims of this cruel world, the cruel world that had bestowed horrible lives on them.
He changed that. He changed all of that, how he did it was something beyond their comprehension. How he managed all this wasn't something that was mean to understand, it was meant to accept. Former enemies grew up in safe and good home conditions (no longer were they thought 'survival of the fittest' or 'might makes right'), rivals that had lost; gained, Nakama that were hurt were healed, family that was separated reunited.
All because of a pure soul.
And that pure soul had sacrificed so much, he had not reincarnated with them.
Ace thinks he could never repay such a debt. Ace doesn't know if he COULD repay it at all.
"I know, Sabo. I know." Ace began eating his breakfast, filled with gratitude that his mother and, ironically, his father was here though. Sabo being his twin in this life had been an absolute blessing. He was grateful to have met Luffy in his previous life, and seeing him be spoken so highly and positively of made him feel happy. At least in this life, he was getting all the recognition he deserved.
"Hey, if you boys get comfortable enough. Why don't you tell us about him?" Rouge offered, her suggestion lifting up the young men's spirits. They most definitely will. Ace was going to start with his own tale on how he raised Luffy with Sabo when—
"I'm home."
Everyone froze, the civilians froze, the former marines and pirates froze. The world froze.
A hush enveloped them. Comfortable and eerily silence washes over the world, a Conqueror's Haki so filled with affection and faith that seemed to return to protect them once again from the clutches of the ghost of their past.
"I..."
"You heard that, right Dad? Mom?" Sabo was still shaking, joy bubbling in his chest. He's felt this Haki before and he was immensely familiar with it, it wasn't demanding and cold, it was the complete opposite. It was so sudden, if he didn't have his Observation Haki active all the damn time, he would've probably missed the faint wave of Haki.
"Ace!" The freckled man was already on his feet, his eyes as wide as his brother's.
"Of course, I felt it! Your father did that before way back, but..." The peach blonde woman trailed off when suddenly, booming laughter came from the giant man known as Gol D. Roger.
"I'm only guessing here, you dorks." Roger commented on their wide hopeful grins and teary eyes, "That might be your brother's doing."
"Oh, we just know it." "Definitely!"
People witnessed the same hush again. Some were filled with the same hope, some retracted and disconnected from the world outside; not wanting to get their hopes up only for it to be a complete falsehood, some amusedly stared at the direction of the Grandline University, some had chills going down their spine in fear as they recognized this silence upon the world.
Only two men were capable of doing this. The only one alive in this new life was no longer the notorious pirate and was a father to 2 sons and a husband. The second one was... Was...
"Welcome back, your majesty." Silvers 'Dark King' Rayleigh smirked as he stared out window; the wonderous view of the ocean just outside the campus built on fit stilts. He was in the faculty room as the teachers discussed and chatted on the new rookies or should they say first years.
"So, our King has returned?" Charlotte 'Big Mom' Linlin raised her eye brow, the busty pink-haired woman had kept her beauty and had let her 'children' reincarnate as other strangers' children but they had not forgotten the scars Big Mom had given them. She hopes to reconcile with them as their professor.
"Better late than never." Portgas D. 'Akagami no' Shanks chuckled as he held the student profile in his hands, 'Monkey D. Luffy, Age: 17, Born in Japan, raised in Japan, Immigrated to Portugal a week ago.' His stormy eyes softened at the wide grin Anchor had in the picture.
On the outside, he appeared so much different, his skin was lighter (dare he say paler) than when he last saw him, his hair was pure white with golden streaks at the end, the scars appeared to have turned into birthmarks which were common nowadays.
The other professors of the University whispered happily and amusingly amongst themselves, "GURARARARARA! Well, it seems the King deserves to have a formal 'Welcoming' now, doesn't he?" The director or Headmaster, Edward 'Whitebeard' Newgate hollered. He was much younger than he once was before he died. Which made things better.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Newgate?" Shanks had a shit eating grin when he faced the giant on the equally large office chair. "Turning the special event for the first years into a feast? Of course!"
"OYAJI, NO YOI!"
"YEAH, NO MARCO HE ISN'T GOING TO LISTEN! THIS IS OUR HONORARY BROTHER WERE TALKING ABOUT!"
"HE'S BACK! HE'S REALLY BACK!"
"Ace and Sabo are going to be so happy!"
"MAKE WAY FOR THE KING!"
The King had awoken from his slumber and was rushing his morning shower, he wasn't late or anything for that matter. He was just excited. Very excited.
He exits the luxurious bathroom and straps on the clothes he was given, he was going to wear a white short-sleeve shirt under his red vest, a pale orange apron-like skirt and under those were black biker shorts. Then another pair of Jika-tabi. A silver bracelet on his left wrist this time, and since he his ears were newly pierced; he should try on one of the earrings he bought.
Barto had bought him a singular earring that had the Straw Hats symbol on it. A straw hat. It was so simple yet meaningful, Luffy loved it even more because it was given to him by a Nakama. It is getting hooked into his right ear, right now.
Walking out the large connected bathroom/dressing room to where everyone was waiting, whether the maids liked it or not, they grew attached to this young teen. When he had walked out the bathroom, all fresh and stunning with his simple choice of clothing. Some more emotional ones had tears running down their face while the tougher ones (the guards) were holding back their tears but were shaking in happiness for the short teen they had been caring for in a span of a week.
He was a King yet at the same time he wasn't, he didn't rule but he conquered, he wasn't smart yet he was wise, the young man's name was Monkey D. Luffy.
The Pirate King that conquered the harsh seas and created their peaceful but chaotic world.
"You look magnificent, Young master." Rafael smiled fondly at the young teen who put his hands on his hips while he puffed his chest proudly, the butler noticed that Luffy was holding something. "Young master, if I may ask, is that the gift your friend gave you?"
"Yep! It is."
"Well then, let's put that on the way to your University, Young master." Luffy didn't argue with that idea. They stepped out into the large bright halls filled with pricey vases and paintings, Luffy recognized some of these as offerings he had heard about. It was time for him to return to his family but he couldn't just forget about the family that had prepared him to this day.
"Thank you." He managed to blurt out, they were at the front yard now and the long black limousine was parked just a few feet away from the stairs of the front door.
That surprised all of them, the chefs, the maids, the guards and Rafael. And they all understood what that was for, such a simple phrase could turn them this soft and shed a few tears. Most of the maids had kids and had seen them off to their first day of school, this all felt nostalgic. The most of the men were giving the young master a smile, some grinned; as if to tell him 'Call forth a storm.'
Or cause chaos that'll change the school forever.
"It was and always has been a pleasure to be of service to you, Young master." Rafael spoke for all of them, Luffy gave them one last grin before bending down to slide into the vehicle. The engine started after the young teen closed the door, it drove off. The gate with an animal-like design automatically opening.
They stood there as it drove off to the distance, the window rolled down and Luffy peaked out of it. His hair pulled up into a messy bun yet his bangs remained untouched and went wild s the air breezed through it, his straw hat earring twinkling in the morning light.
He waved them goodbye.
The atmosphere felt...empty now, they had sobered up from that ray of sunshine. However, Rafael coughed to catch their attention.
"Young master will only be gone for a week since it is mandatory for the former pirate crews to gather once more and live in the campus' apartments for seven days. We mustn't be saddened by this occurrence, for all we know, Young master would invite his Nakama to his safe haven! We mustn't leave any dirt or dust unkept, hurry up now. More action!" The aging man clapped his hands at the end of the speech.
Most of the so-called reunions of crews were surveyed meaning they didn't have to worry too much. The Straw Hats would be in for a surprise, their captain has returned. To cause another storm.
Luffy sat back on his comfy seat and grabbed for the fruit drink that was served, all he needed to do was hold the cup and a sensor of sorts notices his hand and pours in a drink. Ready to drink.
Even if he never really cared for fancy things doesn't mean he couldn't use them to the fullest. Taking a huge gulp of the drink, he sighed in content, it was strawberry!
Maybe he could let some sake in this too, Nami and Zoro appreciate those stuff. 'Dynasty decapitated; you just might see a ghost tonight~' Luffy smirked, he knew it wouldn't take long. Taking his phone out of his small back pack, he slides the green circle up to answer the call.
"Morning, hatchling."
"Morning Dad."
"You heading to school?"
"Yep!"
"Did you get everything you need?"
"Yep! Raf made a checklist."
"Raf? Oh, Rafael. Yes, that is very likely of him."
"This is only supposed to be a short call to know if you're doing well, I must be off to work. Good luck, and remember what I taught you."
"Hai, tou-chan. Ja ne." He hung up, with a face-splitting grin.
He finishes his drink and licks his lips, his once-black now-white bangs covering his eyes as his wide grin sobered into a smile.
HEHEHEEHHEE, OUR KING IS HERE! WOOOHHOOOO
