Chapter 18: Park
– Enji Todoroki (Endeavor) –
"I… sir?" Burnin said, clearly confused as he looked at the picture she'd shown him. He didn't respond, too busy laughing, which was only confusing her more. Of course, she was confused; someone was trying to sabotage his chances of getting a monster, and he was laughing.
But then, of course, he was laughing. He recognised that handwriting. Shouko thought she was clever, but his rebellious daughter had failed to understand a simple fact that had derailed her entire plan. Kaito had asked Moe for his number, because he found the described training methods to be a good start.
Kaito looked at what Shouko claimed was abuse and thought Enji had been going too soft on her. Kaito had mentioned multiple times that he'd been raised by his tribe in the wilds. His own training had either been comparable or far harsher than the training he'd put his daughter through.
People didn't like to admit it, but they were living in a death world. More dungeons and Kaiju appeared all the time; a dungeon break could happen at any time and anywhere. As heroes, it was their duty to be as strong as possible to be able to handle whatever the monsters and deranged villains threw at them. Yes, he was harsh on his children, but he was just as harsh on his sidekicks. Shouko hated him, but was she not strong? He didn't give a damn if she hated him if that hate fuelled the fire she used to burn the monsters away. He could die at any moment; any hero could, so it was his duty to make sure she was as ready as possible for what was to come.
Of course, she decided not to use her fire out of petty spite, but that wouldn't last. When she was faced with a dungeon break, and people were dying in front of her, her reluctance to use her fire would fade. Shouko wasn't so proud that she'd let people die for her petty ego. Assuming U.A. didn't break that bad habit of hers before then.
"I know you have a lot of haters, but this is going too far," Moe complained, making him chuckle as he stifled his laughter. "How did they even get this letter into U.A. to begin with?"
"Because they're attending the school. Ah, Shouko, her social skills were always her weak point," Enji said, making Moe blink in surprise before her eyes narrowed. He could tell his hot-headed sidekick (in more ways than one) was about to start a rant, but he held up a hand and silenced her. "It's fine, Moe. I think Shouko has unknowingly done us a favour. Kaito is not the kind of man who would see demanding training as abuse."
"True. He's asked me to join him the next time he gets to go to a dungeon," Moe agreed, calming down as her hair settled somewhat. It responded to her mood, flaring up when she was angry or excited and settling down when she relaxed. "I agreed, obviously."
Pausing for a moment, he snorted as he realised something. He hoped Kaito had a fireproof bed ready. Burnin was a passionate girl, and she knew what she wanted. Not that Enji planned to touch that with a ten-foot pole. People may call him arrogant, but there were some things he wouldn't dare to involve himself in.
Of course, it would benefit him if Moe got into a relationship with Kaito, but the best thing he could do was not get involved. Meddling would only make things worse. He'd like Kaito to impregnate Shouko, but neither would appreciate the suggestion and Kaito working with him was bound to antagonise his daughter. Now, Fuyumi? Fuyumi was more responsible and might just listen to him if he pushed her toward Kaito.
"He's asked me to put Primeape through our sidekick training program. Primeape is getting worked up in U.A. as the classes give him little chance to burn off his energy," Enji explained, making Moe pause before she too let out a laugh, realising why he was so amused.
Shouko had tried to sabotage his chances, only for Kaito to think their methods would help his own monsters. It wasn't likely to happen immediately, but Kaito was sure that Nezu could arrange for Primeape to be dropped off at their agency while Kaito was at school.
He was annoyed at Shouko's little scheme, but when the outcome had only made things better for him, he could only laugh.
– Eri –
She wasn't really a student at U.A, despite her uniform, but Principal Nezu let her attend classes with Kaito and Momo. It was all a little complicated for her, but she had her own coursework, which was more appropriate for her age, and Momo was always happy to help her if she got stuck. Her new horn sister was as well. Mina was really nice and a lot of fun.
As they arrived at their destination, Kaito grabbed her and placed her on his shoulders with his usual grin. She grabbed his hair to make sure she didn't fall off, watching as he walked the rest of the way.
Kaito and Momo were joking around, and the new girl was hanging off Kaito's side. She wasn't sure about Himiko yet, she was a little scary, but Kaito seemed to like her and she trusted him.
"Here we are," Kaito said, taking her off his shoulders and placing her down as she bit her lip and looked toward the cause of her nerves.
"Do I have to?" Eri asked, trying not to show her fear as Kaito chuckled and lowered himself down onto one knee to ruffle her hair.
"You do, Eri. You need friends your own age," Momo scolded lightly, giving her a gentle smile.
"But I don't need them if I have you and the other monsters, right?" Eri asked, glancing back at the park where several other children were playing. Somehow, it was scarier than any of Kaito's monsters.
"And you'll always have us, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't make some other friends," Kaito assured her, giving her a grin. "You don't have to go alone though, right, Shaymin?"
As he spoke, Shaymin squeaked, making Eri look down at the cutest monster as Shaymin stared back up at her. Reaching down, she picked up Shaymin and held her in a hug.
"Go on. Go play. We aren't going anywhere," Kaito promised her, ruffling her hair again before he poked her on the nose, making her scrunch it up as she pouted. Taking a deep breath, she looked back at the park.
Kaito was a hero, fighting monsters and villains… and she wanted to be brave like him. She couldn't be a hero if she was too scared of a bunch of little kids, right?
Approaching the park, she immediately got attention thanks to her horn and the adorable hedgehog she was carrying. Her heart pounded as a girl with short pink hair ran up to her and started asking a million questions about Shaymin. A grumpy looking boy with spiky black hair was trying to pretend he wasn't interested as several kids petted and played with Shaymin, and Eri took a deep breath before she ran up and grabbed his hand, dragging him toward the group.
– Kaito –
It's not fair to have Eri stuck in school all day, being the only kid around a bunch of teens. Fortunately, finding a nearby park wasn't hard (for Momo).
"Aww, she's already making friends," Momo whispers, seeing Eri rapidly getting surrounded by the other kids. Of course, Shaymin is the best icebreaker, and my lil hedgehog will take care of any problems.
"Course she is," I say confidently. "Eri can handle something this small easily."
The other parents look a little worried at first, but as Shaymin starts a flower show, they relax, and it's not long before I'm signing autographs (ignoring Momo and Himiko giggling about my bad handwriting).
"Kaito, right?" a guy with spiky black hair and some stubble asks. I go to nod before I pause, scratching my chin as I look between him and the woman with short brown hair beside him.
"Oh, I know you two. Water Hose, right?" I ask, watching their eyes widen in surprise. "Saw you during the Teostra attack. Nice work putting out the flames. Made taking the fucker down easier."
"Yeah, that's us. I didn't realise you knew us," the guy admits, making me shrug. "Thank you for the warning about his flames. Normally, we wouldn't have tried to put them out while the fighting was going on. Guess we picked the right kaiju attack to attend. Never thought those years of firefighting would pay off in a Kaiju fight."
"I wasn't at the main fight, but I watched the records back," I admit. "You were in the right place at the right time, and Teostra died for it. Sucks to be him."
Offering my hand, he takes it and shivers as I upgrade his Quirk with a grin.
"You helped out, so this makes us even," I say, turning to his partner with a raised eyebrow as I offer her my hand as well. She hesitates, glancing at her husband before she takes it with a small smile.
I told Nezu I'd be more open with upgrades, and these two made a name for themselves in the same fight where I got my title. It shows they're smart enough to use their talents where they're needed instead of trying to stay in the fight out of ego, and that they've got the balls to attend Kaiju attacks.
It isn't long until Shaymin is joined by the Rattata horde, but Shaymin has done a good job at getting people to relax about their kids being around monsters, and the collection of purple rats doesn't cause much stress as the park becomes a petting zoo.
In an act of spite, I summon the male Eevee and toss it to the crowd of grubby kids, smirking as it's used as a toy. Sentret and Bunneary are just as popular with the kids, and it's nice to see Eri having fun with other brats.
It also gives me plenty of time to talk with Himiko since we kinda skipped that step yesterday. I was planning to talk with Momo as well, but she's busy taking a million pictures at the moment, so I leave her to it. She plays the part of the doting aunt a little too well sometimes.
…when did Carol join the group of children? Well, she should fit right in. As Himiko cuddles against me, I watch Eri ride around on Ratticate's back for a moment and grin. Taking it easy isn't so bad every once in a while.
– Izumi Midoriya –
Sitting in Recovery Girl's office, she felt her cheeks grow red at the lecture. It wasn't helped by the clinic's newest member standing behind Recovery Girl, mimicking her movements. Chansey looked just as scolding as Recovery Girl lectured her on overusing her power. Chansey had apparently been partnered up with Lunch Rush but helped out in the nurse's office as well with her own healing powers. She'd heard that Lunch Rush and Recovery Girl frequently argued over who got Chansey, like a pair of divorced parents, but Chansey just went wherever she wanted.
The simple truth was that her body could barely handle One for All, even at its weaker levels. What should have been some simple training had ended up with a broken fist. She knew All Might had recovered, and she was increasingly sure she should give him his Quirk back, as much as she secretly didn't want to.
He claimed that Shaymin had given the embers he had left more power, but it was still fading over time. Shaymin had just given him years when he'd probably had months before. If she gave him his power back now that he was healed, he could find someone more suited for One for All than her.
With her arm healed, she was let go with a strict warning that Recovery Girl didn't want to see her back again anytime soon. Certainly not because she hurt herself, anyway. U.A. was everything she'd dreamed of. Could she really be blamed for wanting to give it her all in training?
She didn't want All Might to regret choosing her. She didn't want to let everyone down and prove Katsuki right. She did belong here, no matter what he said.
It was that mindset that had her head to the gym instead of going back to her room and calling it for the day. U.A. had a state-of-the-art gymnasium to help its students remain in the best shape possible, and already, several of her classmates were working on their bodies.
The guy with spiky red hair was lifting weights. She'd never admit it, but he seemed like a more relaxed version of Katsuki in a lot of ways. Kaito was here as well, after having caused a scene at a local park by turning it into a monster petting zoo. She admired his confidence to just do whatever he wanted, but facing him was difficult without picturing the… thing she saw on the day they'd met.
He really had no shame, and even now, her eyes were drawn southward to his trousers, her face burning as she remembered him stripping down for a swim without a care in the world. It was almost funny that she'd blundered into meeting both Symbols, not that Kaito had been the Symbol of Victory when they'd first met.
He was lifting weights with… Kirishima? She thought that was his name, but their first day had been hectic, with Kaito and Katsuki getting into a fight almost immediately, and she hadn't had a chance to learn all the names. Asui was on the treadmill, and just the sight of her classmates working out told her that she had a long way to go. Asui's legs were unbelievably powerful, and Kaito and Kirishima were lifting weights that she knew she couldn't even attempt without One for All.
Maybe it was the difference between her and her class that made her push herself again, not even an hour after her lecture. She had to catch up with them to become a worthy owner of One for All. Or maybe she was just stupidly stubborn, as she felt her muscles cry out in pain as she pushed herself a little too hard.
The dumbbell she was lifting suddenly felt so much heavier as it came right back down, her eyes widening as her arms failed to lift the weight. For a moment, she truly panicked as it came down on her, but a muscled pair of arms struck out and grabbed it, lifting it off of her with a grunt.
"Woah, careful. At least get a spotter if you're gonna try this kind of weight," Kirishima said, watching Kaito place the dumbbell down. That was why they were together; they were looking for each other. All her training had been in more… unique environments than an actual gym. It hadn't occurred to her to get someone to watch her. "You okay, Midoriya?"
"I- I'm fine, thank you," Izumi replied, rising with a wince.
"No, you aren't. You've pulled a muscle, dumbass," Kaito sighed, rubbing his head. "You aren't ready for these weights, the fuck were you trying to prove?"
Izumi felt her face burn at his tired words, even as Kirishima told him to go easy on her with a slap on Kaito's shoulder. The pair seemed to have made quick friends.
"Come on, I'll get you to the nurse's office," Kaito sighed, and immediately she blanched, watching as the pair looked at her in confusion. Trying to explain why she really didn't want to go to the nurse's office only made their slightly judgemental looks grow as they listened to her explain that this was the second time she'd hurt herself training in the last two hours. "You're a fucking dumbass, you know that?"
"I mean, it's pretty manly that she's working so hard?" Kirishima tried, but it was clear his heart wasn't in it as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"...what's manly about hurting yourself?" Asui added, making Kirishima jump in surprise, having not noticed the quiet girl approaching. "Shortsighted."
"Come on. I know how to deal with pulled muscles," Kaito sighed. "Later, Eijiro. And… Tsuyu Asui, I think?"
"Tsu is fine," Tsuyu replied, making him nod with a grin.
"Yeah, we'll talk later, bro," Eijiro agreed, fist-bumping Kaito before Kaito simply grabbed her in a princess carry.
It really wasn't helping her cheeks go back to their natural colour, especially when she realised that he'd carried her to his bedroom, opening the door with a kick. Who knew what other people thought they were coming here for…
The videos she'd found online flashed into her mind as he placed her on his bed, her face burning bright red and her eyes wide as he stared down at her with that stern, wild look in his eyes.
"Take off your clothes," Kaito ordered before pausing. "Weird that this is the second time in two days I've told a Midoriya to do that, but whatever."
"W-what?!" Izumi gasped, making him roll his eyes. Wait, what did he mean by the second Midoriya?!
"It's this or Recovery Girl. Now lose the top," Kaito demanded, making her face burn even hotter at his blunt words. But he saw nothing wrong with taking his pants off in front of a stranger, so maybe the tribe he was from wasn't as prudish?
Considering her options, her blush travelled down to her chest as she pulled her tank top off and sat in front of him in her bra. His eyes moved to her breasts for a moment before they returned to her face.
"Lay down on your front," Kaito said, watching as she obeyed. He was an intense figure, and she didn't have what it took to defy him. To her shock, he unclipped her sports bra and, before she could complain, removed it. Her breasts were hidden by the bed she was lying on, but she didn't expect-
Her thoughts were cut off by his hands moving to her back, and her complaints died instantly as they began to work.
"You're lucky you only fucked up a little this time, could have seriously ruined your body trying that shit," Kaito scolded.
"Where did you learn to do this?" Izumi asked, trying to avoid the lecture.
"My mom used to make me do it for her, then the other women in the tribe," Kaito admitted, his hands working wonders on her sore body. Recovery Girl could heal the injuries, but the tension wasn't so easily gotten rid of. "I used to have to fight them off with a stick."
She giggled at that before pausing. Wait, he meant literally, didn't he? The image of Kaito warding off a horde of muscular Amazonian girls made her snort into his pillow as he kept working.
"...I know I pushed myself too hard," Izumi admitted after a quiet moment, making him hum.
"You think I got a body like this by listening to stupid things like 'my limits'? I worked until I bled, then worked some more," Kaito admitted, leaning forward to flex in front of her face as she giggled, admiring the muscles on display thanks to his sleeveless gym top. She was pretty sure Momo did his shopping for him. Momo had good taste. "But you can't get strong if you break yourself in the process. The rate you're going, you're gonna be a cripple, not a hero."
She flushed at his words but didn't refute them. How many times had she hurt herself with One for All already?
"Can't say I'm surprised, given how strong your Quirks are. You can barely handle one of them, let alone all seven," Kaito continued, making her eyes widen. Panic shot through her, and she turned to face him, sitting up.
"W-what do you mean seven?!" Izumi asked, making him blink before he slowly looked down at her breasts, now fully on display. She let out an eep, covering them with her hands as Kaito simply hummed and manhandled her back into the bed so he could continue working. "I- how could I have seven quirks?"
"How the fuck should I know? You've got One for All, Gearshift, Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Blackwhip, Smokescreen and Float. Most of them feel… distant, I guess? But they're definitely there," Kaito explained, making her eyes widen at his casual explanation. Her mind raced a million miles a minute, so enraptured by the implication that she barely noticed Kaito removing her leggings so he could work on her legs.
Right up until she felt his hands on her thighs, face burning so hot she was surprised the bed hadn't caught fire from the heat. At least she still had her panties on… oh god, she was wearing the limited edition All Might Golden Age sports panties, wasn't she?
"Seriously, how hard have you been pushing yourself?" Kaito asked as she yelped from his hands, working on a tense part of her right leg. "Maybe I underestimated you, greenie."
"I… I have a lot to live up to," Izumi admitted, face buried in the pillows as she tried to ignore the insanity she'd found herself in. "Are you sure I have seven quirks?"
Maybe she was annoying him with her constant questions because he responded by giving her a slap on the ass, making her squeak.
"That's what I said, ain't it?" Kaito grumbled. "My power lets me modify quirks, so I get an understanding of the quirk of whoever I touch. You have seven, and I can modify all seven of them. Don't make me repeat myself, brat."
Seven quirks… and more importantly, she recognised one of them. Float. That was the quirk of Nana Shimura, All Might's mentor and the former owner of One for All. She'd been told that One for All had been passed down multiple times, and that must mean that One for All had saved their quirks, but All Might had never mentioned being able to use the other owner's quirks.
Kaito said they felt 'distant', but what did that even mean? She needed to talk to All Might as soon as possible… well, maybe not immediately because this wasn't a conversation she wanted to have in only a pair of bright yellow sports panties.
Oh god, how did she end up in this mess?
And yet… Kaito's hands felt amazing as he worked out every bit of tension she had in her body with ease. How many times had he done this before to be so good at it? Well, at least he wasn't likely to see it sexually if he used to do it for his mother.
"Turn onto your front," Kaito ordered, and without thinking, she did exactly that before freezing as her boobs jiggled from the movement. Kaito didn't hesitate to continue his work, even as his hands brushed against her large breasts
H-he definitely wasn't looking at this sexually, r-right?!
– Kaito –
Man…
Izumi has massive tits for a girl so small.
I didn't know people could go that red.
– Toshinori Yagi (All Might) –
"You are sure of this, Kaito?" Nezu asked, making Kaito turn to him.
"The next person to ask me that gets thrown out of the window. Yes, I'm sure. I was sure the last three times you asked, and I'll be sure the next three as well. Izumi's packed seven quirks in that shortstack body," Kaito grumbled.
The quirks he listed were all too familiar to them. Gearshift belonged to Kudo, the second user. Fa Jin belonged to Bruce. Danger Sense belonged to Hikage. Blackwhip belonged to Daigoro. Smokescreen belonged to En… and Float? How could he ever mistake Nana's quirk? He'd been the first One for All user not to have a quirk before being given OfA; each of the others already had their own quirk, and now Kaito was saying all six were within Izumi.
And yet, how could he be lying? Kaito didn't know how One for All was passed down. That part seemed to evade even Kaito's quirk-sensing powers. How could he have listed all the former owner's quirks if it wasn't his power giving him that knowledge?
Kaito was many things, but he didn't seem like a liar. And if he was, why would he decide to risk exposing himself at this stage, and for what purpose? Maybe he wanted access to One for All, but he already had it. He got it the moment he got his hands on Young Midoriya. If he wanted to modify One for All in some way, he could have done it already. Instead, he seemed mildly annoyed that they were taking him from his busy night with endless questions when he could be with one of his girls instead.
"And you say you could upgrade all seven?" Nezu asked, making Kaito nod.
"Well, yeah? She has seven different quirks. Why would they share a cooldown?" Kaito asked as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Weird that they feel alive, though. Doesn't it get annoying hearing six voices in your head?"
Izumi froze at that question, and Nezu simply sighed deeply and took a sip from his drink. Toshinori felt himself freeze.
"What voices?!" Izumi asked with a mixture of intrigue and shock on her face.
"You can hear the owners of those quirks?" Nezu asked, making Kaito shrug.
"I felt them when I poked her quirks," Kaito explained, placing his hand on Izumi's cheek for a moment. "Nana says you've both gotten old."
That set off another series of questions, but Kaito had his limits as he finally sighed and silenced them.
"Himiko is staying with Momo tonight, and it's late, so I'm probably not getting laid thanks to this interruption. So, fuck it," Kaito said, making them blink as he started to glow with golden light, which engulfed Izumi before anyone could stop him.
Instantly, he collapsed as Toshinori rushed to catch him, failing as someone else beat him to it.
Standing next to Izumi, a tall, muscular woman with black hair and dark purple eyes caught the falling Kaito, utterly naked, as she looked around for a moment. The room went dead silent as Nana looked around in a mixture of confusion and amusement, and Kaito seemed to be clinging to consciousness.
"Heh, now she's got six quirks," Kaito mumbled, his head slumping (directly into Nana's breasts) as he collapsed.
"I don't suppose I could borrow some clothes?" Nana asked, her signature smile on her face despite the clear shock and confusion behind her eyes.
Toshinori, the legendary All Might, stared at his mentor for a moment.
Then he passed out, Izumi rushing to catch him before he hit the ground while Nezu sighed tiredly.
"Hello, Nana. It's a pleasure to see you again," Nezu said simply, sipping his drink.
— Bonus Scene — Tomura Shigaraki
It wasn't fair.
All Might was supposed to be weak; he was supposed to be killable. All those debuffs should have weakened him enough that even mobs could finally take down the raid boss. He was a rotting carcass, clinging to his power, but that was before the worst day of his life.
Shaymin had cleared the debuffs and healed the raid boss. All Might was strong again. Maybe not at his peak, but he'd still been cured of the crippling wounds that had made him spend so much time as a pathetic husk. All his plans had died in that golden wave of light. It was the worst outcome possible.
His plans for U.A. were ruined. He couldn't risk an attack on the students like he wanted to. All that would happen would be that broken cheat character beating all the mobs he could throw at them. The Nomu was designed to fight a weakened, limited All Might, not the real deal.
His master didn't even seem to care, seeming excited by the idea of a healed All Might, but what was he supposed to do? Biting his fingernails, he glared at the screen. The picture of Kaito and Shaymin sent him into a rage. What kind of broken cheat code was Kaito using? Monsters weren't supposed to switch sides. They were supposed to kill. To plunge this worthless world into despair.
It wasn't fair. Now, there were two broken characters, and the Symbol of Victory was even worse than the Symbol of Peace. He was making everyone around him broken with his stupid buffs. Now, the heroes would all get familiars, becoming stronger and stronger. It wasn't fair.
Kaito had to die.
But how? He was at U.A, where the other Symbol was. His master thought All Might had found a new successor for One for All, but who? Not Kaito himself, surely. Why else would All Might remain at U.A other than to train his successor?
Going over everything he could find about Kaito, he paused as he found a news article. It was nothing more than a worthless fluff piece. An entire article just because the Symbol of Victory had taken some little girl to the park? The disgusting hero worship was only getting worse.
His eyes set upon the picture of Kaito giving 'Eri' a ride on his shoulders, a grin on the bastard's face as he looked up at her. Everyone had a weak point, and all he needed was to hit it just right to get his critical hit.
