After a while, SG1 ended up sitting inside the Man's house. None of the Jaffa or villagers had attempted to stop the team of humans from entering the village or the house, yet the team was watched constantly all the same.

They had been listening to the man explain the village's circumstances for quite some time. It seemed they had indeed encountered someone who they considered to be a God, and this man known as Harry had significantly helped the village. They even had some form of scrolls that served as a basic form of a book.

"Not many of us can read, but many are learning at Lord Harry's insistence but it is quite difficult for those of us of many moons." The man was admitted to SG1.

"A Goa'uld would not do this." Teal'c states stoically.

The man nods and replies to the large Jaffa.

"They had forbidden it." He states simply.

A flash of anger appears on Daniel's face, SG1 knew all too well the issues of the Goa'uld and their edicts, Daniel and Teal'c in particular knew those edict's effect on the population.

"You mentioned that this Lord Harry insisted that you learn how to read?" Carter asked the man.

"Yes indeed! He is very wise and kind to us." The man said enthusiastically.

"So you are still in contact with him?" Daniel butted in.

The man nodded once more.

"We speak to him often. He speaks to us fewer, but every time is always a day of enlightenment and greatness." The man said.

"Could we speak to him?" Jack asked as soon as he had finished.

The man looked unsure for a moment but gave a response nonetheless.

"I do not see why not. We can go to the Holy Room soon if you wish."

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble." Daniel interjected.

After this, SG1 and the villager finished their chat and left his humble abode. They made their way to the Holy Room, which was explained as the place they would receive gifts and boons from their savior.

The room was flanked by two Jaffa who still did not stop them from entering, a nod was exchanged between Teal'c and the Guards.

"Why is everyone so nice to us?" Daniel asked the Villager just before they went in.

"Violence is forbidden, we are protected so we have no fear of outsiders." He replied simply.

Before the team could ask about any details, they had arrived at the Holy Room.

The villager led them inside. The room was remarkably simple devoid of anything resembling advanced technology. A platform was in the middle of the room that had markings in the local language, apparently representing Lord Harry in their tongue. The room also contained some chairs and benches that could be used, everything in the room faced towards the middle platform.

"It's like a praying hall, but without the statue" Daniel gushed as he looked over the room.

"This room does not need a statue." The villager said quietly, facing the platform with his head bowed.

"Why?" Jack asked him.

"What use is a statue here when Lord Harry can speak to us personally?" The man asked rhetorically.

"Lord Harry appears here? Maybe it is something like the Asgard Hologram technology." Carter said excitedly

The team spent the better part of three hours exploring the room and talking to the residents who were praying trying to get more information. Finally, Carter could no longer contain a certain question.

"How can we actually see him?" Carter asked like a kid in a candy shop.

"He will not appear on the prompting of us lessers, but the Lord should be here tomorrow to teach us his divine wisdom." One of the Villagers, an older man, responded.

After that, it was decided that SG1 would report everything that happened here to General Hammond. He would then decide on their course of action. At the very least, they had found a planet that did not contain any hostile forces.

Across the Galaxy.

The one who everyone in the village as a God and a great Lord was currently busy inside his ship.

"WHY WON'T YOU WORK." Harry yelled, his patience slowly running thin.

He had been experimenting with some of the more incomplete and experimental Ancient designs contained in the database. Probably not his smartest idea but perhaps he had grown a small overinflated sense of himself after gaining everything he had in such a short period of time.

The design he was currently working on was simply labeled Project-M-K-R-F-3-1-5, it fit in well with the majority of projects experimental or not. To put it simply, it was intended to be a method to separate two symbiotic life forms regardless of circumstances. The Ancients had encountered many races that had both parasitic and symbiotic relationships with their hosts, this research was a way of preventing the parasitic forms of life from harming their host before they were removed. Kind of like a stunning system that could target only either the host or the creature within on a large scale.

The only problem was that if complete designs existed, he certainly did not have access to them, and he had no major R&D team to work in his stead. Hence his frustration at the 68th failure of the project's simulated test.

An automated warning pinged him out of his annoyance and he shelved his previous project. He had not been lucky at all with any of his major projects so any sort of news was bound to give him a small dosage of hope.

His hope plummeted like a balloon in the hands of an overeager child. An unknown faction had emerged on one of his protected worlds. The automated threat detection system had classed them as neutrals based on a fairly robust predictive algorithm and the defenses had not been triggered. Their weapons were already disabled by a hard light field projector that prevented the primitive automatic weapons from working.

"When did I start thinking of them as primitive?" Harry whispered to himself, before the recognition for the hologram feed pulled his attention from self scrutiny.

He had seen these sorts of weapons on the telly and in some of the limited movies he was able to glimpse in his childhood. He got his hopes up for a second but they simmered out. According to the database projectile weapons were a common occurrence in many civilisations, and for some it was even commonplace when they held more advanced technology levels.

Based on their other technology it was evident that they were from a low-tech world. Most likely venturing forth into the galaxy via the Stargate network to explore and scout. Harry looked at the basic summary of events but did not analyze them personally or pay too much attention, he was far too busy with his many projects and the villagers were more than safe until he could turn up to teach them some basics once again.

Not only were their weapons disabled, the planet had plenty of other hidden surprises for hostiles. Even the attempt of firing on someone would be punished heavily. The Ancients did not have much experience with primitives compared to the great races they made alliances with, but even they disapproved of bullying people with massively different technology levels.

Harry turned his attention back to the swirling patterns of hyperspace, briefly enjoying the view as he knew they were to drop out of hyperspace soon.

Just a few moments after the thought occurred, the ship excited hyperspace and once again arrived in real space. The several automated tasks that Harry had assigned soon got to work, scanning the system and all systems on long range sensor range. Harry had settled for a minor modification to the long range sensors that increased their power but reduced their range slightly. It was necessary to look for the needle in the haystack in chunks rather than search the entire haystack imprecisely

Unlike the majority of occasions that he had done this routine search. He had run into other lifeforms, the outdated Nox information had been correct, if a bit inaccurate.

Unfortunately this was the good kind of life, it was in fact the only major race he had encountered so far.

Five Goa'uld Ha'tak class vessels orbited the planet, three of them moving towards him at their maximum speed and the other two seemingly more than content to watch over another area.

The planet below contained a few shipyards that were producing one Ha'tak class vessel which was barely more than a framework and around twenty al'kesh at once. Thousands and thousands of humans were working forced manual labor to construct these ships.

"Slaves." Harry spat out in disgust, his so-called saving people thing kicking in even after all his new knowledge and experience.

His holographic tactical screen lit up with the system's information. The enemy vessels would reach him in minutes, based on previous interactions they were very unlikely to surrender.

Nonetheless, just in case he accepted the incoming hailing attempts that were being practically yelled at The Expedient Explorer.

"I am Mak'Sho'Kel! First prime of the Goddess Shentayet! You shall surrender at once for daring to violate this sacred realm!" The veteran voice of an undoubtedly old Jaffa burst out into Harry's bridge.

Harry only had one response.

"You and all your forces shall surrender, pending judgment." Harry stated, trying to fit into the role of a ship captain.

Mocking laughter lasted for a few seconds before the connection was cut. Now with the enemy intentions clear, Harry powered his own weapons. His shields had already been up since he had entered the system.

Shortly before the Ha'tak's had entered their maximum effective weapon range, Harry lashed out with his own heavy pulse cannons.

The large volley of shots did not cause any sort of reaction as they speedily traversed the void of space, the Goa'uld Ha'tak vessels not even attempting to evade the weapons fire barreling towards them, even though they undoubtedly had time to do so.

Judging by Harry's knowledge on the Goa'uld and their Jaffa, it was either arrogance or some honorbound code of accepting enemy weapons fire for whatever reason.

They quickly had their arrogance punished as the newly upgraded energy weapons of The Expedient Explorer burst forth in a volley of firepower that was a testament to Ancient technology, the first dozen shots were absorbed by the Ha'tak class ship before the last few shots completely destroyed the ship.

"A bit too much focus fire." Harry criticized himself. He had wanted to disable the ship or destroy it, but a large amount of weapons fire simply impacted the already destroyed ship in the void of space when they could be already targeting the other ships.

Harry switched tactics, one his weapons were ready for another volley he targeted both ships with two heavy energy weapon emplacements each, aiming to disable or destroy them as quickly as possible.

By now the enemy ships had entered weapons range, the ships accelerating and firing their heavy staff cannons at The Expedient Explorer. Many of the orange bolts of energy simply went on into the void of space to slowly dissipate into the cosmos and a few impacted the shields of the The Expedient Explorer with minor damage.

The two Ha'tak ships did immensely more damage than the previous pyramid ship he had engaged. The ship was obviously a more advanced and larger type for the Goa'uld and according to the Nox, it was their mainstay ship that had many variations and tech levels as the Goa'uld hoarded their power and technology to themselves.

Even though the enemy Ha'tak staff weapons were stronger, they were not nearly enough to cause any meaningful damage before his split weapons fire managed to disable the two vessels.

The two remaining Ha'taks that he engaged were completely dead in the void. Before he could broadcast another surrender request, they both self destructed and destroyed themselves .

The two ships that remained at the shipyard had exited the system via hyperspace during this battle, obviously to report back what happened and escape with their lives. Judging by the fact that Jaffa were more likely to just drive towards him again, there was probably a Goa'uld in charge of the remaining ships.

Fortunately for Harry, it seemed the ships had left in a hurry and did not even bother to bombard the surface with all the human slaves. Harry sighed, annoyed at himself for allowing them to both escape and destroy themselves.

His next mission was clear, it was time to save another world.

"Set course for orbit."
