A girl stood in the doorway, a small, timid smile on her lips. "Hi, I'm Daphne. Do you mind if I sit here? I got kicked out of my compartment."

He glanced at her neatly pressed, yet faded and patched-up robes and the scuffed trunk at her feet.

Something in her demeanour reminded him of himself, and he pointed towards the empty seat opposite of him.
