Hi there, Author here. Let me be clear here, there is no new chapter and this is not a normal updat, in case you are reading sometime after the story has been concluded. These are just my final thoughts and the reply to some of the comments that caught my eye.

First things first, in case you just wanna find out really fast, I will write more Overlord stories in the future. It's gonna take some time, I'll take a break for like two weeks before I even start planning properly, but it will come.

Back to the original topic then. This story began when I was walking to get a cup of water in the kitchen while watching an Overlord clip on my phone, after it ended, another clip started playing. It was a JJK amv and Gojo was beating Sukuna's ass in the second episode of the show. That single coincidence leads me to write for almost 4 months. XD

I like to think that the first half of the story was more or less planned and paced well. It was more manageable and easier to write in general and overall better. The latter half though... I decided to go beyond what I was comfortable with. So if I had to rank them, I would say that the first half was better, but the second half was where I really started improving and flexing my "creative muscles" if I had any. Do you guys agree with this take?

Everything after Ainz's domain until the final chapter was me trying to write a War arc which I didn't feel ready to write. Too many characters, too many fights in a roll, the pacing was troublesome, etc, etc. You guys probably know about it more than I XD. I couldn't focus on a scene for too long and had to constantly look up things on the wiki to keep the fights fun. Even then, I made a lot of mistakes. It's not like I had no mistakes before, but the latter part was a lot bigger and harder than I had expected.

Scope creep is a bitch and the struggle was real.

But in the end, I feel like it was actually worth it. The size of the story taught me discipline and formed a habit of writing pretty much every single day. I actually read more than normal too as I struggled to find inspiration and the result could have been way worst. I would give myself a 4/10 with a major pacing issues comment. What about you?

My grammar was another issue too. It didn't improve as much as I wanted XD. Sorry about that. I should have tried harder and read some actual grammar books before starting. I plan on getting around to it eventually, but right now, I have some original stories to write in my own native language which means I'll be away from English for a while.

I'll be taking a break from the site. Just a week or two. Enough for me to write some good four or five chapters from a small story I wrote for my friends. Well, I don't know if you care about non-overlord stuff, but If you read thus far, it's obvious that you care enough about my writing that you might be interested so here's a short description just in case.

It's about a post-singularity world where everyone is pretty much hooked to the machines and drinking the Kool-Aid, but unlike in The Matrix, the story isn't about destroying that. The MC is a special dude with a medical condition who can't be plugged into the machines and is forced into living a crappy life. While everyone is busy in lala land, monsters roam around killing people and the machines can't handle them so they hire the unplugged ones. MC takes a job as something akin to a monster hunter and goes around hunting said creatures. Sorry if the description is kinda bad, but if you are interested dm me and I'll give you a Discord link or something. You have to promise me to critique it thoroughly though. XD

As for future projects, I'll be focusing on writing some short stories. No more of the 3-4 month grind for me. At least for a while. I'll be reducing the pace as I have a lot of media to catch up to. I also just got my hands on Game Pass on the PC and both Soul Hackers 2 and Persona 3 Portable are there so... I have a long journey in front of me. Atlus got me hooked what can I say.

Well... I think that covers it. Let's go read your reviews and respond to them.

First of all, for everyone who liked the story. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the story and most importantly, had fun. There were a lot of compliments and praises throughout this whole time, but reading them all back to back this evening has really struck a chord in me. I always pictured what I would want to say once the story was done, but now, I'm at a loss for words. Thank you for your support and kindness. Stick around for more Overlord sometime in the future.

To everyone who didn't like the story, but managed to stick with it this far. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep the writing good enough for you. However, if you managed to get all the way here though, I'm assuming that you liked the story until a certain point and then something happened. Sorry that I disappointed you or made you confused. I must admit though, I feel stupid writing something for people who probably will never read it. Still, my completionist brain compels me, so I must do it.

Now, let's actually respond.

Someone asked about a head count on who was still alive and the reactions of everyone outside the domain. I got to say that I was so zoomed in that I forgot to do a recap. Thinking back now, I should have done it after Sukuna went into the 7th layer. I should have written more about Ainz too. Sorry for not putting your name here, but I can't find the comment for some reason.

What is EDITH? ShimadaSteps, you said Demiruge pulled an EDITH, but I have no idea what that means. By the way, I just read your comment about the 8th floor before the fight. Oh no... I feel like I might have disappointed you there. Just read every other comment, glad I didn't disappoint you. I was really iffy about the ending since it didn't have anything cool happening.

OnetoSeven, I thought about having an army standing there on the 8th floor or at least more creatures, but I ran into a problem. What kinda creatures would be there? I didn't want to put normal undead or creatures like scorpions and become stuck there. Either way, the plan was to only have a small glimpse of the layer before they lost so I decided to just have the four mock guardians since there wouldn't be much of a fight.

A lot of you want to see the loser's pov XD. I don't think I'll have another scenario that allows for it anytime soon, but I'll keep it in mind in case I do.

DIO came out of nowhere in the meme ending, right? XD. I actually thought about this about two weeks ago while I was stuck in traffic and I found it to be so dumb that I had to include it. Glad you guys found it amusing.

InHumanMan, I also thought that the ending was underwhelming. I thought about having another final fight, Sukuna vs Ainz. That was an old idea where Sukuna actually left the domain on his own after seeing how fucked he was on the 8th floor. He would have most of his strength since I wouldn't have disqualified pretty much every single player with Angel's ability, but I figured that just like getting the requiem to stand in Jojo, once Ainz won, any more fighting would just make his whole plan stupid since it was a winner takes all scenario. What do you guys think?

Paxloria, it was a meme ending. I do have some ideas with Overlord and JOJO, but they are not grabbing my attention yet. The one thing that I'm exploring right now is a Geralt, from the Witcher, and Overlord crossover story. I'm not sure about it though.

Carlos Andres Araya, it's sad that there are no other OverlordxJJK fanfictions. Maybe one of you guys could fix it? Wink wink.

Uwumu, don't worry about the bad mouth and the harsher criticism. They only bothered that one time and it was just because I was too dumb to understand what the guys were talking about it. The support was a lot greater than any of that. Thank you and everyone for it.

Well... this is it. The final line has been written and the story will be deleted in 24 hours. Just kidding XD. I'll just mark it as completed. On a more serious note, I wish you great success in whatever you intend to do from now on, have a great day. Bye.
