It was two years later in Forks in southwest Clallam County, Washington, United States. High school had just let out for the summer and Apolônia Dwyer was unlocking her front door of the old Swan home.
Unbeknownst to her, a 5'3" brunette was waiting for her sitting in her living room, and she was not happy because for the last two years Apolônia has been looking for her sister Bella.
Apolônia was reaching to turn on the house lights, when a voice called out from the darkness leave the lights off.
"You won't need the gun in your purse!" The disembodied woman's voice stated adamantly, "If I'd wanted to hurt you, I could have done it before you entered the house." Close Microsoft Word
Apolônia froze on the spot, as the disembodied woman's voice told her, "Stop looking for Bella you're going to get both her and yourself killed!"
"But she's, my sister!" Apolônia said, "And she is alive."
"Yes, she was your sister, and no she is not alive she died 27 years ago in a house fire." The disembodied voice stated, "This is the only warning you're going to get!"
"You were not supposed to find those pictures when you did, they were left there for your descendants! The disembodied woman's soul voice explained, "I noticed you like reading Annie Rice, more specifically The Vampire Chronicles."
"What of it." Apolônia stated in an irritated tone of voice.
"She got more right, then she got wrong!" The disembodied voice stated in a nonchalant tenor.
"So, what are you telling me, vampires are real?" Apolônia asks, trying to keep her rising anger in control.
"I'm not telling you anything, however if vampires were real, they wouldn't appreciate people digging into their affairs." The woman's disembodied voice explained.
That got Apolônia's attention as the disembodied voice continued, telling her, "But if they were real, my position in the hierarchy would be compared to Akasha, in queen of the damned."
Apolônia quickly flicked on the light switch getting a glimpse of her intruder for the first time, under her breath and in a soft whisper she said, "She looks like mom… but it can't be mom I just hung up on her!"
The look on the strangers face told Apolônia, (You really shouldn't have done that!)
From across the room the stranger said, "Actually your mother looks like me, you really should have opened that Drafting Tube!"
It's got to be fifty feet between me and her… how the hell did she hear me word for word?
"No, I'm not reading your mind, but I could be reading your lips!" The stranger replied looking at her.
