This is the first chpter of my Naruto story. This is one of my favorite what ifs and I wnated to put it on paper. Naruto has a twin sister and he was trained by Kurama. This openes so many avenues and I'm looking forward to working on it. Though this is my second story I want to get at least the first season of meterial here

Naruto & Naruko with Kurama

Chapter 1 The twins befriend a fox

Two six year old blonde children run for their lives through the streets of the leaf village from a group of around twelve people. It was their birthday, and it was the second year that this happened. For as long as they can remember people had always treated them with contempt, hatred and disgust. People would hit or throw things at them sometimes, but only on their birthday would people go this far to actually hurt, borderline kill them. The children held hands as they ran with the boy in front of his sister going as fast as their little legs could carry them. They suddenly dipped into an alley only to find it was a dead end, the mob was standing at the top of the alley when they turned around. The children trembled in fear from feeling the mob's malice as they slowly approached them. Many of them carried some form of weapon, ready to end the monster that had cost many of them so much.

"This is it. This is the day you pay for all the people you killed, demons!" A man from the mad exclaimed with venom.

The boy stood in front of his sister trying to appear brave but it didn't matter as the mob attacked. Many of them shouted for their deaths, with several stating that this was for their brother, sister, husband, best friend etc. The twins took the attack, they continued to hold hands through the pain and even when they both began to lose consciousness one things was clear between them. No matter how terrible people had been to them, they had and would always have each other. It feels like after this they may never wake up, but they were together and it would always be that way.

The twins woke up to find themselves in a dimly lit hallway with pipes on the walls and ceiling, there was a shallow layer of water on the floor. The two looked at each other confused as to where they were in a unfamiliar place.

"Naru-chan, where are we?" The blonde girl asked her brother.

"I don't know, the last thing I remember was holding hands before I passed out." The boy replied.

The kids were brought out of their thoughts when they heard the low growl of an animal coming from the end of the hall. The sound implied that the animal was big, but it also seemed kind of sad. The two gulped, cautious of what could have made that sound, before walking down the hall hand in hand as they entered a vast room that revealed a giant caged door with a paper talisman with the kanji for seal at the center. It was all black behind the cage and they couldn't tell what was behind it when they suddenly saw two bestial red eyes. The dark figure behind the cage began to come into view to reveal a giant orange-red fox with nine tails. "So...My jailers have come to pay me a visit, aren't I fortunate?" It said sarcastically with a deep and intimidating voice.

"Your-" Naruko began.

"The nine tailed fox." Naruto ended, both their eyes wide with a mix of fear and fascination at what they were seeing.

"That's right, I am the all mighty nine tails, now what do you want?"

"What do we want? Where are we?!" Naruko exclaimed.

"What are you doing here?! HOW are you here?!" Naruto exclaimed as well.

The fox looked annoyed by how loud they were but decided to answer their questions. "Fine, I'll indulge you both. To answer your first question we are in the tailed beast psychic plane, it is an area within your subconscious that connects us and allows us to interact. To answer your second and third question I was sealed here by your Fourth Hokage. He split me up in two, sealing my yin half in the girl and my yang half in you. " The fox answered honestly

This surprised the twins but this just opened up even more questions. "We were told that the Fourth Hokage killed you, why would he seal a half of you in both of us?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah and if there's supposed to be two of you, why are we only seeing one?" Naruko asked

"In reverse order, I assume because you're twins and because you were holding hands when you lost consciousness you were able to merge the two planes somewhat and made it possible for the three of us to speak in the same place. Because you're descended from the Uzumaki and from the fact you were babies each of you could only handle half my power. My previous jinchuriki was dying and so he chose to seal me inside his newborn twins."

The blonde's eyes went wide when they registered what he said. "Did you just say what I think you said?! Was our dad the fourth hokage?!" Naruto exclaimed, hoping he heard right."

"Yes, that fool was your father, and my previous jinchuriki was your mother, Kushina Uzumaki."

Naruko raised an eyebrow. "What's a jinchu- whatever you said?"

"Short answer, it's a human sacrifice. For generations humanity has vied for control of the tailed beasts, too bad it usually corrupts and kills them!" The fox chuckled, taking comfort in that fact.

The blonde twins were excited and giddy from this news, they always thought the fourth was amazing and it turns out he was their father, and they even know their mother's name now. They were really happy but it still left more questions, the old man said he didn't know who their parents were and to not be concerned with it, like it wasn't important. He was lying the whole time, The way the villagers treated them, this was why and everybody knew.

"Hey nine tails, why did you attack the village?" Naruto genuinely asked.

The fox narrowed its eyes upon hearing this. "Why does it matter to you?"

"I just wanna know." He answered without a hint of anger or blame towards the fox.

Kurama contemplated telling them the truth and the whole truth. His ability to sense negative emotions showed neither one of them were blaming him for the loss of their parents. Knowing it probably wouldn't change anything he decided to tell them. "I would be lying if I didn't say I hate this village, but I didn't attack because I wanted to. I was being controlled by a man in a mask. An Uchiha claiming to be Madara Uchiha, but it was a lie. I could sense his chakra and they weren't the same, while I was under his control he forced me to wreak havoc on the leaf village. The fourth hokage defeated him and freed me but before I could leave, everything happened with the sealing."

"So all of us were forced into something we didn't want to be." Naruto said out loud.

"Wait, this means the old man lied to us!" Naruko suddenly exclaimed. "He said he didn't know who our parents were!"

"Yeah, and whenever we asked he always treated it like it wasn't important." Naruto added

The twins allowed this realization to set in before speaking again. "You want to be friends?" Naruko asked with a cute, radiant smile.

The fox was thrown off by these words as he raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Like I said, let's be friends. I don't think dad had a choice and we've been together since we were born, so let's be friends."

Kurama was in shock at how serious this child was, it could be simple naivete but she was totally serious. Even after hearing the truth neither one of them has the slightest bit of hate for him. The way they're looking at him and speaking to him is a way none of his previous jinchuriki have, they would either talk down or at him but these kids were genuinely talking TO him. Maybe, just maybe they are different. "Fine then… We'll be...Friends."

Naruko let go of her brother's hand and started jumping for joy. "Yay! We're friends now! You hear that Naru-chan?!" She exclaimed happily.

"Hey don't call me that sis, YOU'RE the Naru-chan!"

The fox chuckled at their antics. "I almost feel bad for you, kid."

Naruko suddenly stopped jumping with her hand still raised looking at the fox. "Hey nine tails, do you have a name?"

"Yeah, it can't be nine tails, that doesn't sound like a name." Naruto added

Once again the fox was thrown off by one of their questions. Not a single jinchuriki has ever asked this question or assumed he had a name. "My name is...Kurama."

"Kurama. Ok, let's be friends for a long time, Kurama!" Naruto exclaimed

The two were suddenly enveloped in a bright light that startled both of them. "WHAT'S HAPPENING!" Both children called out in unison.

"Relax, you're just waking up. Don't worry, we'll speak again soon." Were the fox's last words before they were gone. "I, the great Kyuubi no Kitsune was befriending two six year olds." From the moment he was sealed within them he's been planning his escape, "Who knows, maybe it won't hurt to have a pair of kits." He thought before he closed his eyes for a nap.

The twins woke up in hospital beds with the third hokage standing at the edge of the room, looking out the window. Hearing them stir he saw that they were both awake. "Naruto, Naruko, how are you feeling?"

Naruto brushed past the pain to reply. "A little sore, are we in the hospital again?"

"Yes, you both were badly injured and were brought here. Do you remember what happened?"

"Yeah, some people chased us and hurt us just like our last birthday." Naruko answered, trying to sound as sad as possible.

Naruto followed his sister's lead and also spoke, sounding incredibly sad. "Old man, why are people so mean to us all the time? Why do they hate us so much, did we do something wrong?"

The hokage merely sighed, not making eye contact with either of the kids. "No, neither of you did anything wrong, and I'm sorry this happened again. But know that everyone involved has been caught and will face the utmost punishment for this."

"Ok, can we leave now? I don't like hospitals." Naruko said, still sounding sad.

"Of course you can, I'll walk you both home." After checking them both out of the hospital the hokage personally escorted the two kids back to their apartment. He had given them this place after they were kicked out of the orphanage when they were five, following a fox hunt from the villagers. Hiruzen was sickened by the treatment of the children and he regrets that something that has always been so classified was now public knowledge. As the hokage and in keeping his promise to Kushina in her final moments this was the only way he could protect them. As much as their actions sickened him, he was still saddened that everyone involved in their attack had to be executed.

Arriving at their apartment Hiruzen left the children alone after making sure they had plenty of food. They used to have a cook but they couldn't stand the twins and had to be executed when they poisoned them, fortunately the kids survived. So after spending a few weeks teaching them how to cook they are more than capable of feeding themselves, although they choose to eat a lot of ramen. After they were sure he was gone the twins spoke into their minds and Kurama answered. "What is it kits?"

It was Naruto who asked the question. "Can you train us to be ninjas?"

"I was always going to offer to do that but since you asked, yes. I can't have weak containers."

"SUUWEET! Can we start right now!"

It's night outside right now, we'll start in the morning. You're going to the academy in a year, I can make above average shinobi out of you at the very least in that time." He stated confidently.

"Awww can't we do a little right now!" Naruko complained.

"Make some food and go to sleep!"

The next day the twins went to one of the training grounds and were excited to begin their ninja training. Kurama said he had something cool to show them but it had to remain a secret between the three of them. They make it to one of the training grounds surrounded by trees and an open grass field with a pond. The twins were ready to go, with Naruto being curious to what Kurama wanted to show them. "Ok Kurama we're here, so what's this cool thing you wanted to show us before we could start training."

"Before I show this to you both, it's important for you to know I have never shown this to any of my Jinchuriki, you'll be the first ones. More importantly it's important that you both realize this must stay a secret until I say otherwise, understand?"

"YES." Both replied in unison.

"Alright then." There was suddenly a small explosion of smoke in front of the twins and when the smoke faded there was Kurama. A tiny, chibi version of Kurama.

The twins were thrown off for a moment by this new form, Naruto starred with a mix of shock and laughter while Naruko looked at him stars in her eyes from how cute he was. "Well then, what do you think?" Chibi Kurama asked with the same deep voice as big Kurama.

Before Naruto could pick on him Naruko scooped him up in her arms. "You're so cuuuuuute!"

"What!" This clearly was not what the fox wanted to hear but expected it in the back of his mind.

"You're so adorable Kurama. you're like a puppy!" The blonde girl continued to compliment him as he narrowed his eyes, clearly unamused.

"Naruko, bring me closer to you?"

"Ok why?" She asked as she brought the fox closer to her face. When he's close enough he spins and bitch slaps her left cheek with several of his tails with an audible thwack. Not hard enough for it to really hurt, but hard enough for her to feel it. The girl just looked at him shocked for a moment before the fox expressed himself.

"I am the nine tails! I am a walking, living, breathing cataclysm little girl! NEVER call me cute again!" He exclaimed, pointing his tiny claw at her.

Naruko merely smiled back at him. "But you're just so cute and squishy Kurama!" She playfully replied with an innocent smile.

Kurama was tired of her insolence and it was time to show her what he really wanted. Chibi Kurama exploded in a much bigger plume of smoke, this time forcing Naruko to drop him because he suddenly became much much heavier. When the smoke cleared they were surprised to see a tall man with sharp, handsome features, shoulder length, orange-red, slightly spiky hair wearing a red haori over a white sleeveless shirt with slim fitting black pants and black mid calf ninja sandals.

"Kurama?" Naruto asked almost hesitantly.

"In the flesh. So who's cute now?" His voice sounded less deep as he smirked with eyes trying to intimidate the girl.

She just pointed at him with a mischievous smile. "Still you."

Narrowing his eyes again. "I just can't win with you." He stated before lightly chopping her in the head. "Anyway, these forms are what I wanted to show you. Many people don't know this, but we tailed beasts have access to a chibi form and a human form. Depending on how a seal is made up we can create a clone and transfer our consciousness to that clone. Though my real body is still sealed away, this way I can interact with the world and I can also give it as much chakra as I can slip through the cracks. Understand?"

"Yep." Naruto replied.

"Yeah I get it." Naruko replied.

"So the first thing you need to do is learn how to control and wield chakra, and in order to do that you'll have to train your bodies up." He then gave the twins a sadistic grin that made a chill run down their spines. "Let's get started shall we."

For the next month the twins went through rigorous training everyday to strengthen themselves, the sadistic fox really put them through the mills. The twins were excited to learn how to use cool jutsu, but Kurama insisted they needed strong bodies first before they could handle his training. They were even more surprised when he told them how he knew the man who invented ninjutsu, and mastered every form of combat in the history of the Land Of Fire. The three had become very close in this time and after a month they awakened their chakra. Kurama ran them through several chakra control drills, teaching them basic ninjutsu and his style of taijutsu, after a while he decided to teach them a special jutsu.

"Ok kits, you've survived this month of hell so I'm going to toss you a bone."

Naruko perked up with her signature adorable smile. "So you're finally going to teach us a cool jutsu?!"

Human Kurama smirked back at her. "That's right."

"Sweet! I've been waiting for this for ages!" Naruto exclaimed.

Kurama gestured to the kids to calm down. "Alright calm down you two. Before I teach you this jutsu there are a few things you need to know." This got the attention of the blonde twins. "The jutsu I'm going to teach you is called the Shadow Clone Jutsu. It's a high rank jutsu and it's very versatile. This jutsu is going to be pivotal to your training and will speed things up considerably.

"How?" Naruto asked.

The human fox didn't respond and only made the hand signs creating a perfect doppelganger.

Naruko had stars in her eyes. "SO COOL!"

"This jutsu is very versatile. Unlike the standard clone jutsu, shadow clones are solid. They are just as powerful as the original though not as durable, and the best part of this technique. Any experience the clone receives is sent back to the user." He said smiling while giving them a knowing look.

"So that means the more clones we make the faster we can learn stuff!" Naruto exclaimed.

"That's right kit." Kurama smirked at the boy's quick understanding, he then looked at Naruko who seemed to be deep in thought, "Something wrong, Ruko?"

"No it's just that, why didn't you teach us the other clone jutsu? You taught us transformation, substitution and other basics except that one, why?"

"There's a reason for that. As jinchuriki, our chakras are essentially blended. Because of that your chakra control is never going to be as refined to perfectly perform a basic jutsu, which is why you need to learn something more advanced. "You two are basically able to run before you can walk! HAHAHA!

This made the blonde girl chuckle a bit at the man. "You're funny Kurama, but I get it."

After showing them the hand signs and after a minute both are able to easily make several clones. "So what do we do now, Kurama?" Naruto asked.

"I want you both to make sixty clones a piece." The twins do as they were told and make sixty clones between the two of them. "Now we're just starting out but we'll increase this number over time but for the time being I want you to break off your clones into five groups of ten. Each group will train and study in a different shinobi skill, those being Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Kenjutsu, Taijutsu, Fuinjutsu, and academics. That last group, while not the most exciting it is the most important. You need to learn HOW to be Shinobi so let's start.

It's been over a year of training and the twins have grown by leaps and bounds. By this point their skills were at least mid chunin, they were far beyond anyone of their age in the village right now. They had discovered their chakra nature with Naruto being wind and Naruko being lightning, the two pretty much mastered every jutsu of these two elements in every ninja guide book or scroll they could find. Naruko was in the process of inventing her own jutsu after Karama told them their father did the same. Their genjutsu was their worst skill but they do know how to spot and get out of one. Their Kenjutsu skills were coming along nicely with Naruko showing natural talent for the sword, and their Taijutsu skills were getting sharper with Naruto being the stronger and more skilled of the two.

When Kurama wanted them to study sealing they were really interested to learn what their clan was famous for. They tore through many books on the subject, learning many sealing jutsu and having the idea of creating some of their own. They learned many things from the dozens of clones disguised at the library. Whenever they were out in public, people gave them their typical nasty look, but they didn't have a problem with sending it back. There was a way they were with each other, and a way they were with everyone else. Naruko, who is by nature, is a kind, caring, adorable girl, with the same temper as her mother. But Naruto and Kurama are the only ones who know this because outside of them she doesn't mind yelling at, insulting or beating up anyone who comes after them. Naruto is different in the sense that he'll give people a chance, one first chance to show you're not a piece of shit like the rest of the village and if you can't it's fuck you forever.

Kurama has spoken to them many times about how their treatment is just human nature and they should drastically lower their standards and expectations, which they have. They have had many talks and whenever they would ask him about their parents he always answered honestly. He even told them the whole story of how he ended up in the village, helping them understand why he hates it and especially the Uchiha clan. In there shared psychic plane he would show them history, teaching them about the Sage Of Six Paths and the history of the Shinobi world. The two would come to understand what chakra was and it's true meaning, what Kurama and the other tailed beasts; purpose was, and how the Sage's dream had been bastardized by human nature.

It was time for them to start the ninja academy but they weren't expecting too much. After getting up and eating breakfast they arrived at the academy, nasty looks from the parents of the other kids followed them the whole way along with talks of, "Don't speak to them." They make it to their assigned class and find two seats in the center of the class. They talk to Kurama and amongst each other until a man with tan skin and a brown pony tail walks in and stands before the class. "Hello everyone. My name is Iruka Umino and I'll be your homeroom teacher." He gave a quick introduction about himself before doing a roll call. Naruko looked around the room and saw a girl sitting at the top seat to the right of them, from her eyes she appeared to be from the Hyuuga clan. She looked vaguely familiar to her, she then remembered when they helped a weird wyed girl from bullies before they met Kurama, "So she's in this class." She thought to herself.

As Iruka was doing roll call his eyes narrowed when he got to the twins. "Naruto Uzumaki?"

"Here."

"Naruko Uzumaki?"

"Present."

After they announced themselves the muttering began, Naruto got mad with every word he heard people say while Naruko tuned it out, knowing no one would have the balls to come at them. And even if they did she'd hurt their feelings or beat them up.

The school day came and went, all of their teachers gave them the look everyone else does, clearly not wanting to teach them. The two decided to head to Ichiraku before going to do some training. "That was so boring! Please tell me you're not going to make us suffer six more years at that dump, Kurama?" Naruko pleaded to the fox.

"Of course not. You both have already mastered what you'll need to graduate and the in between stuff you can learn with ease in time. Just send blood clones to keep up appearances."

"We're already more skilled than most of our teachers, I think when our clones stand in for us they should act like dead lasts so people don't suspect how awesome we really are." Naruto suggested.

Kurama thought about it for a moment. "That's a good idea, Naruto."

"Smart thinking Naru-chan!"

The boy accepted Kurama's praise and just sighed in defeat at his sister. "I told you not to call me that."

"Well too bad, you're stuck with it now."

"But I'm not a girl, Sis."

"Your point is?" Naruto just deadpanned more at her response, he had accepted long ago that he was Naru-chan, but that didn't mean he had to be happy about it.
