Sky Kids: War Of The World.
Everyone was caught off guard when the trouble began...but no one was more un-prepared than the children of Earth.
12-Year old Bryce Cosgrove did not believe an apocalypse could happen in the age of technology, so he never expected any of this. Not in his lifetime...nor anyone else's lifetime. But he was a 21st century kid. A millennial, to be percise. And he knew if circumstances changed--as they had as a result of the disappearances of millions around the world--then the government would simply make the necessary adjustments and set about doing what needed to be done. Which is more or less what he tried to do.
It is regretful to say that 11-year old Will Xander, 10-year old Charlotte Dallas, 11-year old Kyle Lynx and old Tommy Daily would also face the coming disaster. These children were not even realizing the seriousness regarding their current situation. They were also dealing with the vanishings of their loved-ones, which now looked obsolete and petty when compared to the terrible situation they and the rest of the world were now faced with.
And it wasn't like this would be completely new for any of these kids. They all had been informed on what had happened regarding the disappearances of their loved-ones and many other people around the world. None of these children were blindfolded or ignorant. Some of them had made the choice not to believe what had happened, but even then they would realize the truth. This would hit hard, and then they would see how wise it would be to take proper actions.
These children were unaware of the hidden role they all would play. But this disaster would surely unravel some mystery that may have been confusing them.
It was unfortunate that this would happen, but this was the only way to get through to them.
They had to see the truth for themselves and realize what had happened the hard way.
Bryce Cosgrove was on board a plane from L.A. to New York City in the middle of the night after sneaking out and running away from home when the disappearances began. He had fallen asleep and the plane had left California and was over the ocean when he awoke to find that many passengers and crew members and all every child on board, except for him, had vanished without a trace. The pilot then decided to turn the plane around after learning that the airport in New York City had been closed for reasons unknown at the time. Bryce had later learned from a female flight attendant that this vanishing act was not isolated to the plane and that many people had vanished all over the state of California without explanation. It wasn't until Bryce and the remaining passengers crew members arrived back in L.A. and got back on the ground that he realized how serious the situation was. The disappearances of many people had resulted in chaos around Los Angeles and the rest of the state of California. Many of the people who had vanished were in the middle of doing something, such as driving their vehicles, flying planes, helicopters, jets, cooking on the stoves at home, had food in their ovens, or were at their jobs doing something important when they vanished and the results were chaotic because the missing people never came back to complete their tasks.
Bryce later found out that his parents were among those who had vanished after arriving back home in a taxi, as both of their vehicles were still there and so were their cellphones, his Mom's purse and his Dad's wallet. When the sun came up, he got on his bike and rode into the chaotic city, soon arriving at a high school where he met a scientist named Mr. Albert Stine and four other kids named Charlotte, Kyle, Tommy and Will. Charlotte, Kyle and Will had all lost their parents in the vanishings, but Tommy's Dad hadn't been among them. After all five kids had shared their stories with each other and Mr. Stine, he took them to the principal's office where he got out a laptop and showed the kids a 2009 YouTube video of a 9-year old nerddy boy named Dexter Neutron explaining the source behind the vanishings to be a mass alien abduction, that NASA was responsible, that it had happened all over the world, etc. He even revealed in the closing of the video that he would likely be among those who had been taken.
After the video ended, Mr. Stine asked Bryce and the other kids what they thought of the boy's warning to the world in the video and if they would help save the remnants of humanity.
Kyle received the warning and decided he wanted to help. The others, however, simply rejected the boy's warning in the video and all five of them left.
Long story short, Bryce and Charlotte went back to his mansion in Beverly Hills and Kyle and Will shacked up in Will's house in the suburbs. Tommy, meanwhile, on his way back home, had stopped by his 13-year old friend, Bryson's house to check on him and his parents, only to discover that they were among the missing people who were taken, and then he left the residence. The aliens soon returned to Earth and began invading the planet and abducting more people. During the invasion, Tommy made his way to Will's place, Will and Kyle let him in, and they locked themselves inside. Bryce and Charlotte had also locked themselves in his mansion home and spent the night in his basement. Will, Kyle and Tommy also spent the night in Will's basement, watching the News on a mini-90s TV, showing nothing but broadcasts about the alien invasion and abductions that were currently taking place around the world, with two female News anchors on the mini TV being taken.
Was there any going back to normal from this?
Highly unlikely.
But was it the end of the world as humanity knew it?
As a matter of fact...it was.
