"Thank you child." An old woman said kindly looking on as the child placed down the heavy boxes with a oof.

The British neighborhood had identical houses, rows of uniform structures creating quite the orderly picture.

Each house mirrored its neighbors, featuring matching neatly aligned front gardens.

Identical front doors enforced uniformity, while street lamps illuminated the sidewalks in a symmetrical fashion.

The child who placed down the box smiled as he slapped his hands. A typical action of someone who thought they did a good job.

Though it was an understatement in this case. Massive amounts of boxes lined the walkway of the house in varying sizes and shapes. Big and small. There were even some stacked on each other.

Clearly it was the scene of a professional shipping company who just got a job however the following scene ran contrary with such a thought.

The child smacked his lips with an amused pop. "No problem Mrs. Smith. Just a regular old job for Uzumaki Naruto." He accepted the cash that was handed to him quickly, his smile widening.

An easy job that didn't even take a hour netted him 150£! He was going to eat good tonight, yes sir!

It was his main job finding these physical labor jobs and leveraging his strength to undercut people who charged far more. People didn't seem to mind not being able to place where he came from and as a result defaulted him as British.

Meaning he didn't need to deal with those other problems.

"I have another job for you next week if you want it? I need some more packages brought here." Mrs. Smith asked to him as she nodded at the neatly arranged boxes. She didn't need to worry about anyone suspecting her of using child labor.

No one cared about the other neighbors unless there was actual gossip material afoot.

"Yes? I probably can? Let me think for a second." The blonde 12 year old put his hand on his chin thinking. He could probably squeeze her in even though he was booked. He also needed to think about setting boundaries.

He didn't want to work 24/7 no matter how quick the money came.

Deciding it would be his last time conceding he nodded. "Sure lady. I'll come visit you next week." Looking at the police car passing he simply waved like a normal kid smiling.

He was more experienced and didn't panic at their sight anymore. Instead defaulting to a more normal state.

"Then I'll see you later then?" The boy immediately ran off picking up his bag on the way smiling as he dipped into it pulling out a cd player.

Turning it on he laughed hearing the loud track from Elvis Presley play.

Bopping his head to the beat he jogged down the street making his way back home quickly.

"Mr. Ferguson? Good morning!" He said to the middle age man who grunted.

"Ms. Bakewell, you're looking prettier every day!" The kid said passing by the woman trimming her bushes who giggled waving at the silly child.

"Mr. Greeves still wearing the toupée I see!" He joked with the man who was gifted with a very long set of hair.

"Damn kids. When will summer end?" The man grumbled pushing his lawn mower.

Coming close to alley Naruto ignored the litter as he looked around. After making sure no one was looking he quickly took off.

Kicking off a wall he quickly touched the next kicking of it as well. Repeating the process until he reached the top he back flipped landing down easily with a grunt and smile.

"Mmm mmm mmm" humming to the tune he turned it down a bit as he rested it down as well.

Looking forward he smiled, sighing in relief. Damn was it good to be home! After a nice long days of work it was just what he needed.

Walking forward he took it in. It was an orange tent he was able to get on sale! Inside the tent, there was a cozy sleeping bag laid out on a thick camping mat.

A small portable stove sat in one corner, surrounded by a few cans of food, some ramen and a kettle for boiling water. A laptop too.

It wasn't much but it was his!

"Ramen Ramen Ramen." He giggled putting the kettle on for water as opened his cup.

Done with that he emptied his pockets looking down at his 'loot'. Picking up the bills he counted then.

"543 Pounds" He smiled happily at the daily wage he got. He had gotten a bit llower than usual but it wasn't like this was his only income.

Speaking of that…

"Sup boss." A clone came dumping his pockets as he dispelled. Another came right behind him doing the same. It was a normal occurrence at this point and he wasn't surprised.

It was a stroke of genius he had to let his clones help him work he thought counting the money.

2293 Pounds. Wow someone got lucky huh?

He would try to do more but for some reason he couldn't make more than 3. He also wanted to keep one in incase of emergencies.

Hearing the kettle whistling he looked at it reaching over and turning it off.

"Ah ah." He said feeling a tiny splash of water get on him. Pouring it in the cup Naruto placed it down waiting for it to cool a bit.

Rubbing his hands after 2 minutes he picked it up slurping happily his eyes in crescent moon shapes. So happy he was to indulge he didn't pay attention to the tiny pop that echoed out, passing it off as a bird or something.

However he most certainly did hear the…

" You've been giving me quite some trouble Mr Uzumaki."

From a clear feminine voice as it was tinged with frustration. It was soft and a tad maternal. Softly chastising him without going overboard.

He didn't care about it.

Feeling his body twitch, Naruto dropped the Ramen cup, feeling it splashing on him. Not caring about the sting, Naruto immediately rolled to the side before touching the pockets that were strapped to his leg.

Ripping his Kunai out he immediately flung them backwards towards the sound as he got onto his feet immediately swinging around to attack.

Running straight forward his eyes widened seeing the…shield appear in place blocking the kunai.

Pivoting away from the glowing…stick he immediately recognized trouble when he saw it. He was right when a speeding red light nearly flicked his ears. Impacting his tent, crumbling it.

'A stick can do that?! Is it some new kind of gun?!' He thought deeply confused remembering hearing about the other weapon.

Leaping off the building with great speed he landed on to the next in a half of a second. He was about to jump off again before his eyes widened in panic feeling his shirt pull him backwards.

'What the hell is this?!' Was this some kind of jutsu?! How would he know? He wasn't even a genin yet!

Struggling, he immediately shucked it off. Not minding the sudden breeze that assailed him.

Of course that wasn't the end as he also started feeling his pants do the same and along with his shoes.

"What the f-" was as far as he was able to say, as he threw his shoes off before a red light took him out of the world. Hitting him with the speed of a moving train.

Into a peaceful forced slumber.

"Troublesome child." the voice grumbled though there was satisfaction lining it. Clearly they had been waiting to do that for a long time.

Of course she tripled tapped him seeing him somehow wake up already. Quite the firecracker she had on her hands.

What else could you describe someone who fought through a full powered stunner?

- 10 minutes later.

"Ugh what a crappy dream." The boy immediately came to as he rubbed his head. He must be going looney now. First he jumped dimensions now clothes and shoes could jump off your body.

He probably had some really bad Ramen. Maybe he would lay off for a bit.. Maybe…

'I won't' How could he ever give up on his beautiful Ramen? He shook his head from the crazy thought. Though maybe he should check the expiration dates first…

That would be smart. Yeah.

"I assure you Mr. Uzumaki. That was no dream." He heard the familiar voice as he immediately jumped up taking a low stance.

"What do you want, lady?!" He looked around for any traps figuring out how to get away. He subconsciously released tension however seeing the familiar terrain that was his home.

If this was an enemy clearly she would not have left him here right? It made sense to him as he looked at her reluctantly.

He hated when people made sense. It gave him less reason to punch them.

"...you're more perceptive than you look. Have you figured out I have no wish to harm you as of yet?" The lady's voice took on an impressed and amused tone.

The kid's nose crinkled as he heard her. Did she just?

"Hey I feel like you insulted me?" He questioned a bit confused as he sat down like she did looking into her eyes.

Well she was in some kind chair she randomly got. He wondered where she got it from.

Looking at him deeply amused she didn't answer the question instead she asked one.

"Did you perhaps see an owl or two earlier in May? About four owls to be exact." She looked at him and her tone was a bit ambiguous. Clearly she had no clue what to make of this situation.

Naruto looked at her and sounded out the word owls. He was able to cram English like crazy with his clones. Not that they were some cheat as they were just as stupid as he.

Still learning a language was easier with a partner. And he had 3 at the same level as him. It was easy to see why he was able to get it down in record time.

"Owls… you mean those birds?" He muttered before his voice elevated as he remembered.

She nodded quickly, her eyes looking at him.

"Oh I ate them." He scratched his head a bit sheepish. Clearly they were this woman's pets.

Still they tasted pretty good. She could be proud of that! He didn't say that of course.

"..y-you ate the Hogwarts post owls?? That's why they never came back." She posed the question faintly before ending on a statement muttering.

It was completely unbelievable, never in her entire life had she heard such a crazy thing and it happened under her tenure as deputy headmistress.

If it got out she would die in shame. All that fame that built up would crumble in seconds. Forever posted in history books.

Naruto looked around embarrassed. He felt it would be prudent not to tell her his stomach was rumbling like a volcano. He was sure she'd try to kill him. She looked pretty upset.

The woman ran a hand down her face before sighing. "Well if you hadn't done such a ….thing. You would have realized that it was an invitation to a very prestigious school for Wizardry, Witchery and magic! Perhaps you would have also been up to par with your classmates but alas!"

She finally got the frustration out as she looked at his blank face.

"Magic. Really lady?" He deadpanned not at all believing it. It was just stupid that she wanted him to…

"Ohhhh~" He placed a closed fist into his palm with a bop, his cheeks red as he remembered the past events. Man, his memory was bad. He needed to get that checked.

"Yes..oh" She said right after him with a bit of a smirk. This kid was quite absent-minded huh?

"Wait did you say school? No thanks lady." He immediately shook his head, shivering. Heck no.

What did she think he was? Some law abiding citizen? No, he was an illegal immigrant from another planet! Though magic did sound sweet he knew he had chakra not magic.

"No thanks? Young man-" She sternly started before being interrupted.

"How did you find me anyway? Those owls too kept following me." He asked suddenly. It was really weird. Were they stalking him or something?

He shivered. Creepy.

'Is his attention span low?' She questioned with a sigh. It would be nice to stay on a single topic but she was always a sucker for idiots.

Smiling at the thought of her husband she explained. "With magic we can locate anyone under a certain age who is a user of magic. It's how we find our students, otherwise it would be impossible."

Seeing him pay deep attention she smiled. He'd be a good student.

"Owls are imbued with a certain type of magic and can easily find traces of recipients." She completely bullshited him seeing his wide eyes. Clearly he was awed.

Not a single person had a clue how they worked and that was a truth from the beginning of magical society. However it was a bad look if she said she didn't know. She had to draw him in after all.

Rather than seeing him chased down and his memory wiped completely, every time he performed accidental magic until he was past that phase.

Naruto bit his lips a bit undecided. He knew what he said before but magic was sounding pretty good. Still he was unsure of one thing.

"Are you sure I have magic?" He looked at her confused. He was pretty sure he had chakra not magic.

Looking at him incredulously, she calmed down quickly. Did he not think jumping from roof to roof was enough evidence? Still it was her job to explain so she would.

No matter how crazy the question.

"Has anything strange happened to you in the past? Perhaps you've found yourself in a completely different place than you were before. Or maybe a particular item you wanted came directly to your hand?" She questioned giving him more examples.

Naruto nodded with a "ahhh." That did happen actually. When he really wanted his Ramen it somehow appeared in his hand.

He had just thought he was going loopy but…

"I guess I do have magic. Huh." He shrugged accepting it. Wasn't the strangest thing anyway.

Patting her lap in relief she smiled. "Will you be attending then?" She needed to know before she left.

It was quite an unprecedented situation that he was discovered a year late so she'd have to make sure it was dealt with swiftly. Especially since she had been chasing him for quite a bit of summer.

Naruto hummed as if thinking about it. "Will I be bothered if I say no?" He asked the obvious question.

"Yes. Truthfully you will." She nodded sadly. As many changes that were happening sadly that was not one of them.

Naruto sighed. The thought of being chased didn't sound good. And if he could do some magic it would be nice.

Chakra was cool and all but…

"Yes lady. I'll come with you. Though what's your name? You never told me." He looked at her blinking. He wasn't one to think too much about things. Not only that, sleeping on a roof wasn't very appealing.

"Ah, how rude of me." She said aloud. It would seem she was losing her manners with age.

Composing herself she said.

"You may call me Minerva McGonagall. Or rather Professor McGonagall to you." She nodded, stepping away.

Before she left she said. "I'll be back for you tomorrow at 8 am sharp. Please be ready by then? Have a good day Mr. Uzumaki."

Done with what she came for she twisted slightly before leaving with a pop.

Looking at where she left with wide eyes, Naruto didn't even begin to try to unravel what he saw.

Looking over to his tent his eyes sparkled seeing it fixed.

"Magic is pretty cool…"

(Break)

-One day later.

"Ahh what to wear?" Naruto scratched his head looking around a bit overwhelmed. What did one wear when going to magical school exactly?

It was quite the dilemma for the little blonde. Of course had anyone saw what he was choosing from, they would have shaken their heads in exasperation.

The child was truly foolish.

He was choosing from plain black pants, and 2 shirts, one orange and the other black. Neither shirt were different from each other either, having the exact same design.

Still it was a hard choice as the child picked up the black shirt shaking a bit.

"I should be a bit more formal right?" He nodded deeply with a sigh. Glancing forlorn at the other shirt he shook his head before putting it on.

Done with that momentous task he walked over to his bed and to the chest near it. Sitting down on his legs he pulled a key from his shirt taking it off.

Putting it in he opened it before giggling crazily seeing the wads of cash.

"Eheheh" He brought his bag from the side giggling all the while. Stuffing the dough inside he couldn't help but feel happy that he never spent it. His cheap nature helped him quite a bit.

He wondered how much it would add up. He would carry all and see what he could buy.

Maybe they even make self making noodles?! The possibilities were endless!

With that thought he sped up even quicker. Finally he got up before sniffing his breath as he placed his bag on.

Ugh.

Taking out a mint he smacked on it as he looked around waiting. 'She said she would be here at 8 am right?'

It was awfully-

"Mr Uzumaki? Your punctuality is very welcomed." Minerva popped into the scene, arriving 5 minutes early. She didn't expect it out of the boy.

It was a pleasant surprise. She wouldn't mind having him as one of her lions. Still it wasn't time for that now.

"Are you ready to leave Mr. Uzumaki?" She asked, looking at the boy who nodded rapidly.

"Yes mam!" He saluted her. He didn't know why but she seemed to be the type.

Rolling her eyes she stuck out a arm indicating for him to take it.

Looking at it for a second Naruto hesitated before taking it.

In a second later they were gone in a pop. Leaving nothing but a gentle breeze and a tent bereft of money.
