Chapter ?:

[Journey to a Joyless Life]

The sound of waves crashing into the hull of the ship was the only thing the Captain heard as they journeyed the seas to a destination that will be the site of a little game.

16 students all in cages were in the ship that they were sailing. 16 students that will participate in this silly little game. All of them sound asleep, all of them unaware of what was going to happen to them.

They pitied the fools, not enough to let them go but enough to feel sympathy for them.

The journey continued with only the sound of crashing waves being audible.

As the voyage continued, the helmsman started to see an island.

The site for the game. The ship was docked and the students were carried to the island by the crew.

After counting all the students, checking to see if they were alive, and getting paid; the crew began to leave. As they stepped foot on the ship, the captain felt like something was wrong but shrugged it off. There was no way that his ship would be a danger to him. This ship was his friend and his partner. Darling's been with him since he first set sail.

And thus they sailed once again.

It didn't take long before the ship started exploding.

The crew started to panic as these were shark infested waters. All of them were taken by surprise, thus all of them were injured.

All of them were bleeding.

Just one drop of blood in the water and they were as good as dead.

The captain turned back to the island and saw their employer.

They were happily waving their hand goodbye with a cheeky grin on their face.

Ah.

Nobody was allowed to know where this island was.

Not even the crew that delivered them.

The captain sighed. They should've known. Even though the fortune they offered them to hunt down, capture, and deliver these people to the island was enough to make them filthy rich for five years, their employer was an unreasonable person.

They would have no qualms letting all this money sink to the bottom of the ocean.

They only cared about one thing.

The captain could only sigh in defeat as they sank down to the depths with sharks circling around them.

Well at the very least this will be quick.

Unlike what those students will be facing.

"Heh. Sucks to be them"

Author's note:

Welp here we are.

Chateau reboot but this ain't a chateau anymore I guess. I feel really bad letting this one sit to rot and fade away despite all the ideas I had for it. So here I am, gonna be reboothing this series. I'll also try to rectify some mistakes I made in the original story.

Gonna cross-post this in Ao3.

As always for SYOCs. PM me, DM me to send your OCs to suffer, die, and other horrible words.

Deadline will be on September 30.
