"Mrs. Holstrum says Jeremy's in a better place. He's an angel now." Lindsey said with the wisdom of an adult but the tears in her eyes betrayed her.

"I'm sorry, baby. I know Jeremy was a really good friend but your teacher's right, he is in a better place now and he wouldn't want you to be so sad about it." Catherine kissed her daughter tenderly on the forehead.

"Your mom's right, Lindsey. Jeremy would never want to see a great friend like you be sad." Grissom offered with a sympathetic smile.

"Do you believe in angels, Uncle Grissom?" The little girl tilted her head to look at Grissom, tears still glistening in her eyes.

"Yes, I do."

Lindsey nodded as if his simple belief in angels made her believe in them too. "Mrs. Holstrum says we should all draw some pictures of stuff we used to do with Jeremy. I'm gonna go do that now."

"That's a good idea." Catherine gave her daughter a kiss before letting her head upstairs.

"Don't worry." When she turned to him with a surprised look, Grissom explained, "Your daughter's got your strength. She'll be alright."

"How long have I known you?"

"17 years, 9 months, and 2 days." He answered with a proud smile, "Why?"

"I've known you for almost 18 years and still you never told me?"

"Since when have you begun believing in angels?"

"Since 17 years, 9 months, and 2 days ago. Everyone has their reason for believing in angels. Just like Jeremy is Lindsey's reason...you were, and still are mine."
