Being Bad

That's what we're up against huh?" Spike commented as Buffy and Riley finished their report on the latest threat.

"You know what it sounds like to me, Pet? It sounds like we need back up," Spike paused to look at Riley, "Why don't ya call up Angel. I'm sure Peaches would love coming to your rescue Slayer."

Riley twitched uncomfortably as everyone in the room turned to stare at him.

"Spike," Willow hissed.

"Who's Angel?" Riley asked.

"Um Angel. He's um a friend, in um Los Angeles. He um helps, sometimes, with things like this," Buffy stammered.

Spike grinned, he'd guessed right the Slayer was being tight lipped about the former love of her life. "Pet, you haven't told Solider Boy have you? You really into secrets aren't you. You don't tell your mum about being the slayer for, what, a couple years, and now you haven't even mentioned Peaches to the Solider Boy, don't you think he needs to know about that?"

"You're doing this on purpose aren't you?" Buffy asked, glaring at Spike. "Angel and I dated in High School," she said to Riley. "It didn't work out."

"Oh I'll say it didn't work out," Spike contributed gleefully, "You and my sire get physical and the next thing anyone knows he's trying to suck the world into Hell."

"Spike, open your mouth again and I'll forget you're allied with us and treat you to a front row view of the next sunrise," Buffy threatened.

"Hold on a second," Riley said, "Buffy dated Spike's sire, as in a vampire?"

"Oh yeah mate," Spike said, "Compared to Buffy's former love, your Initiative thing is down right norm… Hey Slayer, watch where you're throwing things!"

"Yes, Buffy," Giles said. "Please refrain from throwing my books at Spike. I'm sure you can find a nice rock or a stake."

"Buffy you dated a…" Riley began again.

"Riley, there were circumstances," Buffy said.

"I've accepted you're letting Spike help you," Riley said. "But dating a vampire?"

"I said the exact same thing," Xander said.

"Don't help," Buffy ordered.

"You really dated a vampire?" Riley asked, "You 'got physical'? WITH A VAMPIRE?"

"In a very serious way," Spike volunteered, "It was enough to make a person heave. Then she sent him to Hell."

"Spike, stop causing trouble," Willow instructed.

"Sorry love, can't, it's my nature. I'm bad, remember? I may not be able to bite, but this has been right entertaining. In fact I'm sure I can think of all sorts of little details Riley might be interested in knowing."

"Spike leave," Buffy ordered.

"Sure Pet, it's been fun."
