Deep in space, within his cell, the Boss of the Galactic Mafia was once more staring out the window. "Where is it?", he thought to himself. "If only I could get the Solar Element, I could use its energies to become the greatest crime boss in the universe. Instead of being locked in this prison."
He was snapped out of his reverie by the door to his cell opening, as the robot guards shoved a turquoise exoskeletal figure wearing a stark brown helmet into his cell. "You have a new cellmate, inmate 20394. Like you, he was a tricky one to capture."
"The boys called this guy 'Ninchuu'.", the other guard added. "Threw several of our top squads at him and he teleported them halfway across the universe. Never seen anything like him. That helmet suppresses his powers, but he won't shut up as a result."
As the guards left, the Boss listened in and sure enough, the being known as "Ninchuu" was reciting what sounded like gibberish. "At the dawn of time, human and insect alike shared a planet, lured there by the rulers of the universe to fight for survival. For eons, battle was waged until the rulers of the universe deemed that humanity should claim the land. So the Absolute Monarch gifted them 24 titans that could unite to form a Goliath."
The Boss merely sighed. "I suppose you and I are in here for the long haul." He proceeded to sit down. "I might as well hear your whole story."
Down on Earth, Anna was cleaning up the Drive-In in preparation for the working day, absent-mindedly singing a song that had been sticking her head. "Mirror, mirror, what's behind you? Save me from the things I see. I can't keep it from the world. Why won't you let it hide from me?"
"Hoping to get on a talent show?", George asked, as Anna turned around to see him sat there. "Because not to raise your hopes, but you've got the makings of a hit record."
Anna was annoyed. "What are you doing here? We're not open yet."
"Well Aunt Anita left town for the day to join an environmental protest.", George explained. "Something about Sweat Bees. Anyway, she left me in charge while she's gone. Which means making sure you do the work." He then returned to reading the newspaper. "'Second Generation Racer Hotshot Hong visits Town'. Aw just great."
"What's wrong with Hotshot Hong?", Anna asked. "Does he owe you money or something?"
"No, but as a self-proclaimed ladies' man, I'm not keen on a celebrity coming in on my turf.", George said as he got up. "Maybe I can dig up or start some rumours to ruin his lustre." He then existed the cafe.
"So much for watching over me.", Anna commented, before smiling as she had a realisation. "I guess that means I'm my own boss today."
Elsewhere in the city, Lee was walking down the street. "Looks like another day off my rather sparse work.", he noted to himself. "Maybe I should try searching for the last two Zords. I mean, it's either that or watching cooking shows with Mover." He hen bumped into a man in a leather jacket. "Sorry about that, I was distracted."
"No, it was my fault.", the other man said as he dashed off. "Sorry, I have somewhere to be."
Lee then noticed that the man had dropped something. "Wait a minute, you forgot your…" He picked up the item, which was an unusually shaped red item with a stylised "1" on a purple-blue background. "Weird data card thing?"
Darkness. 16 years prior, it had been created by General Shifter with the goal of destroying the RPM Power Rangers using state of the art Level 14 technology. Then it had been placed in a shipping container, sent to the Rangers' hometown in an innocuous method that would not attract attention. Delivery had taken several weeks, so the unit had shut itself down to conserve power until delivery could be complete.
Now, it wakes to be greeted by unfamiliar beings, one semi-mechanical, three organics and an artificial Lifeform of unknown composition. "It seems that whoever built this mechanism left it here and forgot about it over the years.", the one who seems to be in command - the techno-organic one - intones. "Several of its circuits had corroded from disuse, and without my implants, this beast - Croc Bot, I believe it is so designated - would simply be a living statue. A large hunk of metal."
Croc Bot tries to speak to its rescuer, but it can only make a series of mechanical noises as its pistons try to press buttons that are no longer there. "Why doesn't it speak?", the unknowable organism asks.
"Because, Slashmark, I removed its speech functionality because I didn't deem it necessary for the robot to speak.", the techno-organic answers. "Just like I removed several inefficient systems from the robot's chasis, such as this."
The being holds up a green liquid in a canister, which even with its fractured memory, Croc Bot recognises as important. It responds by lunging forward, trying to recover it. "I think he wants his bottle back.", the more slender of the three organics squeals.
"Like, he really wants dat ting, Boss.", the smaller of the three adds.
"Then there is a simple conclusion.", the senior decides. "Robot, carry out your designated tasks from prior to hibernation to success, and I will return this to you." Croc Bot computes the logic behind such an action, before nodding in compliance, and dashing outwards to begin attacking.
As they saw Croc Bot dash off, Technorg turned to the Star Kats. "Follow and make sure he stays on task."
"Sir!", Grillion and K.P saluted, before they departed with Meowbile.
Slashmark was once more angry. "What about me?", he growled. "When are you going to let me get out in the field?"
"When I can make optimal use of your destructive blunt force.", Technorg answered, before turning to leave. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a prior appointment to make."
At the Rangers' base, Mover was analysing the device that Lee had found. "Any luck in identifying this technology?", he asked.
"All I can tell that this is beyond normal Earth technology.", Mover answered. "Whoever made it was a technological genius of the highest order." He then inserted it into a computer terminal, causing schematics of a bird of prey themed car to appear on the screen. "My word."
"What is that thing?", Lee asked. "An eagle? A condor?"
"It looks a lot like an Engine Zord.", was Mover's answer. "They were an old legend in my part of the universe. Supposedly, they were a set of Zords with a limited AI that allowed them to select suitable beings to become Power Rangers partnered with them. I recall they were hybrids of Earth creatures and vehicles, which was my inspiration for the Lion Bus and Dolphin Tanker Zords."
"So that means this one's partner Ranger is in town and he was the guy I bumped into.", Lee theorised. "But why is he here? Maybe I can find out when I return this to him." He took out the chip as the alarm sounded.
"It's a Mafia signal, but there's something off about it.", Mover reported. "It's still demolishing several buildings, so we should call in the gang." He went over and activated the emergency alert.
Anna was remarkably quick to answer. "Whatever it is, no can do at the moment. I'm all that's keeping the Drive-In afloat today and can't get off until lunch." She then hung up before any objections could be raised.
Bobby on the other hand was quick to respond. "The Co-ordinates aren't far from the station. I'll be right over." He hung up and ran off, only to almost collide with Detective Chase, who was now in a wheelchair, a result of her injuries sustained during the Signaltron incident. "Oh, I'm sorry."
"I don't need any more apologies, Officer.", Chase said dismissively as she used her remaining functional arms to turn around and wheel away. "Even if you weren't in control, you still put me in this chair. And I won't be happy until I can be sure that power can be strictly controlled to prevent damage."
With Chase gone, Bobby nervously made his way out of the door before anything else could happen.
Within a few minutes, Bobby and Kit had both made their way to the scene, as Lee pulled up in his car. All three had taken the precaution of morphing ahead of time. "What's this guy called?", Kit asked as he saw the Attack Bot and laughed his helmet off. "Captain Gatorjaws?"
Croc Bot didn't take kindly to this, moving to slam into Kit and send him flying. "You walked right into that one.", Bobby chided him. "Or more accurately, he walked into you."
"Regardless, let's finish him off.", Lee decided, pressing the trigger on his Wheel Saber. "Wheel Saber Obstruction Strike!" But the usual logo of a no entry sign for the Mafia only stunned Croc Bot, before he continued running forward, biting down on Lee's arm and tossing him to the side. "Okay, that attack doesn't work so well if it's not part of the Mafia." Croc Bot then approached his downed foe, drawing a golden sword out to strike down his opponent.
But before he could land a hit, Croc Bot stopped as his mechanical stomach emitted a beeping sound, indicating that he was out of energy. "What's going on?", Grillion asked from the sidelines. "He was winning before? Why's he so weak now?"
"Now's my chance.", Bobby realised as he took out his Stick Saber, using it to slash at Croc Bot several times, before pressing the trigger to initiate an attack. "Driving Strike!"
But before the attack could make contact, Meowbile leapt in the way to take the full brunt. "Intercept!"
"What the-?", Bobby gasped as Meowbile fell to the floor. Croc Bot took this opportunity to strike him down with the sword. The Star Kats then ran in to grab onto their comrades and make a break for it.
The three Rangers then de-morphed and reconvened. "Okay, it seems this one isn't the standard enemy we usually face.", Bobby surmised.
"We need to pull back and try to get the others onboard.", Lee surmised. "Then we might stand a chance of beating it."
"Maybe.", Kit said to this. "But something tells me the Power Rangers Turbo Boosters might be in over our heads."
In an alleyway, a mysterious figure took out what looked to be a flip phone, if not for the fact it was much bulkier. He then pressed a button with a phone icon, before speaking into the receiver. "Okay, I made it here okay, but so far I haven't found much to go on. Are we sure that Attack Bot activity's been logged here?"
"Positive. It was an Attack Bot signal.", the voice on the other end answered. "I'm not sure how, after all these years and their factory being decommissioned, but any hint of our enemy's return should be investigated."
"Speaking of investigating.", the man said, as he took a small toy bus like object with a lion's face as the front windscreen and bumper out of his pocket, holding it up to the phone's camera. "Do you recognise this? I found it in an alleyway and thought it looked like one of ours."
"No, it's a totally different craft altogether.", the voice answered. "But it's a surprisingly sophisticated piece of kit. When linked with a certain circuit pattern, it emits a signal powerful enough to call a larger counterpart. Hold onto it now so I can study it further, and continue your mission." The call then ended.
The man frustratedly put the phone and his find away. "Sure, hang up before I can mention I lost my Engine Cell. Makes my job lying my way out of it much easier.", he thought to himself, before sighing. "I'd better get a drink before I collapse from overthinking things." He then headed for the nearest eatery he could find.
Back at the Ranger base, while the other three gathered Rangers licking their wounds, Mover continued to analyse the mysterious item. "I'm really getting a lot of fancy data from this thing.", he said excitedly. "Who knows what I could create with the AI code I'm seeing?"
"That's all well and good.", Kit commented as he calmly pushed Mover's arms down. "But right now, we need to figure out a way to defeat that robot. Nothing we did before so much as scratched him."
"Well lucky for you, I found out some useful data from that battle.", Mover answered him. "Namely, the technology in that robot is similar to the technology in this device. Enough that they share some weaknesses in structure and software."
"Meaning…?", Bobby asked.
"Meaning that if we could input the right data into our weapons, we could be able to scratch that thing at the very least.", Lee realised. "How long would it take?"
"Not long at all.", Mover answered. "By the time that monster shows up again, I should be more than done."
Over at the Drive-In, Anna was being swamped with orders, as she had warned Mover about. "Can you all remain calm, I will get around to you in time. I am not the Flash."
George came bounding in. "People, as the temporary manager for today, anyone who doesn't sit down and wait for their orders will be thrown out." The ruckus instantly stopped. "There, that's better isn't it."
Anna wasn't impressed by this. "If you really want to help me, you'll either cook or wait on these tables instead of searching for dirty rumours on Hotshot Hong."
"Don't worry, that well dried up.", George assured her. "The worst I could find were rumours that he cheated on his high school girlfriend at the Senior Prom." He then got behind the counter and grabbed an apron. "But since you requested it, you've got some help." The bell rang to indicate someone had come in. "How can I help-?"
As if fate was playing a cruel trick on him for his snooping, aside from the black man in the leather jacket who sat down and started reading the menu, the man he was facing was Hotshot Hong himself, with his distinctly punchable face, rogue-ish smile and dyed red hair (the latter being a recent change that had baffled his promotional team, but they had gone with it as a new look). "Nothing much, I'll just take a milkshake." He then sat down at the bar. "And while waiting, I'd like to chat to you about strange goings on in this town."
Elsewhere, after some clattering, Meowbile emerged from within Croc Bot's mouth. "Found da problem. He needs to eat."
"Well that is his whole purpose for living.", Grillion pointed out. "I'd think he would've got his fill from skyscrapers."
"No you dopes, he don't eat concrete an' metal.", Meowbile scolded him. "He needs ta eat real food fer his abilities ta woik properly."
"That would make more sense.", K.P realised. "Humans can rebuild infrastructure, but they'd have a harder time restoring lost food." She then stood up and pointed towards the Drive-In. "And here's a food place within walking distance."
"Fortune must be shining down on us today.", Grillion decided. "Let's go!"
"Right.", the three Star Kats nodded, while Croc Bot raised his fists in celebration.
"And let's give ourselves some help.", K.P decided. She threw some screws to the ground to summon Robolts, who ran forward.
Inside the bar, Anna had stopped working in favour of fawning over Hotshot Hong to ask him questions. "So, tell me how you won that come from behind victory at the Speedia 300 in Monaco?"
"Well that's an interest in one.", the racer answered. "You see-."
George was no longer listening, instead focusing on serving a burger to a young couple. "Maybe I didn't have to dig for reasons to resent this guy's presence.", he thought to himself. "He's distracting the staff. Honestly, this day can't get much worse."
As if on cue, Croc Bot and the Robolts burst through the door and window, shocking everyone. "What the-?", the black man who had come in with Hong blurted out. "Who're these guys?"
"Is that…?", Hong blurted out in response to the intruders. He then stood up. "Ms. Ketchum, you'd best get out of here. It's getting dangerous." He escorted her to the door.
"Me?", she grumbled. "What about you?" Once he'd shut the door on her, she sighed and composed herself. "Well, now I don't need to cover my absence to morph." She manifested her Morpher, only to find it was glowing green, and generated a circle made up of bars that were gradually turning green. "Oh come on."
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but we're in the middle of an upgrade.", Mover's automated voice played over the comms. "Please check back in a few minutes." Anna sighed at this, as the circle continued to light up.
Back in the restaurant, the patrons were running for their lives, as the Star Kats joined their underlings. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the midst of raiding this place for all its food. Please run away screaming for fear of your life.", K.P announced into Grillion's microphone.
As Croc Bot barged through the counter into the kitchen, George and the black patron ducked under one of the tables. "I don't know about you, but I think we could take these metal heads if we catch them by surprise.", the latter suggested.
"That's… a pretty good plan.", George said, clearly taken by surprise. "Let's do it and then run like hell to call for help."
The two emerged from underneath the table, only to find that Hotshot Hong was not only still there, but he was in the process of beating up the Robolts by himself, using the menus and utensils as makeshift bludgeons and projectiles respectively. "Who is this guy?", Grillion asked, clearly terrified.
"Who am I?"l the man said, before he held up two fingers on his right hand directly to their face. "They call me Hotshot Hong. And just so you know, this ain't a peace sign." He then re-entered a fighting stance. "It's me saying you've got two seconds to get out of here, if you know what's good for you."
"Good proposal.", K.P muttered nervously as she and the other Star Lats beat a hasty retreat.
"Let's leave this to Croc Bot.", the three stated as they made a dash to leave.
"Looks like we weren't needed after all.", the black man lamented as he turned around to kick a surviving Robolt that was trying to creep up on him.
"Indeed.", George grumbled as he backhanded another straggler. "Mr. Impressive here proved even more impressive."
"Regardless, I don't think any of us should stay behind to fight that Bot.", Hong suggested. "Let's get out of here and call for help."
"Don't worry.", George assured him. "We've got Power Rangers to deal with this sort of thing. I'm sure they'll be here soon to clean up." He turned and ran out of the building. "In fact, I'll just go ahead and call them now."
As he ran off out of sight, the two remaining people in the diner shrugged. "He was… interesting.", the black man noted.
"Yeah. He really was.", Hong nodded. "Now, let's get out of here in case that Bot gets to us before the Rangers do." Both then turned tail and set off running in opposite directions.
After a few minutes, Croc Bot burst out of the kitchen, bestowing some of his energy into the fallen Robolts to revive them. He hen led them out of the building and towards a plaza to start causing mayhem. Once it got there, it found Lee, George, Anna, Bobby and Kit, all waiting for it. "Okay guys, the upgrades we got from this thing should be good to go.", Lee said as he held up the item that had started this day for him. "Now let's kick this thing's afterburners."
"Right.", the others nodded as everyone took out their Accel and Siren Morphers. They pressed their pedals three times, enunciating every word of their morph call. "Ready! Set! Morph!" Lee, George and Anna spun their wheels, while Bobby and Kit pressed their buttons. Racing suits manifested onto the 5, who zipped and fastened them up, as gloves and boots materialised on each of them. Their Morphers attached onto their wrist braces and Stick Axes, before projecting tires that formed the helmets around the Rangers' faces. "Power Rangers Turbo Boosters!"
From the side, the mysterious stranger who had shown up in town watched while they changed. "Those guys are the Power Rangers?", he asked confused. "Maybe I should watch and see before lending my aid."
The Rangers engaged in battle with the Robolts, who moved in on Croc Bot's commands in machine language. George and Kit worked together to take down a large group. "I guess this part is just a routine thing for us.", Kit commented. He kicked one enemy down and dodged a blow from another Robolt, only to land right next to another. Fortunately, his Stick Ax was able to knock it and another down, before he reached out to take down a fifth Robolt with a kick.
"Well it gets my head pounding.", George answered as he leapt over a Robolt's shoulder, before using his Wheel Saber in gun mode to shoot another. He briefly got caught between two attacking together, forcing him to let go of his weapon. "His could be a fatal blunder." But he quickly grabbed it and used a mixture of acrobatics and rapid shots to take out the rest. "For these guys."
Lee and Anna likewise teamed up, using their Wheel Sabers in sword mode. "Combination fighting with a smile.", Anna commented as Lee spun her around on his arm to allow her to slash through Robolts attacking them, before she leapt off to kick one back.
"We can finish this at Mach speed.", Lee said as he blocked the weapon of one Robolt with his own, before kicking another away to prepare himself to slash through the rest, detonating them. "Now that was explosive."
"They're doing well.", the stranger noted. "But how will they handle that Bot?"
Bobby had unknowingly elected to answer that question, swinging his Stick Saber at Croc Bot, who blocked with his own sword. "Let's see what a little dash can do to my attacks.", Bobby decided as the wheels on his back and boots began spinning. He generated an energy wheel from both of his feet, throwing both at Croc Bot as projectiles. While the Attack Bot dodged both blows, Bobby moved forward to launch a direct kick with his still spinning wheel, which ground into his foe's legs. "Alright, nice to know this works." He then turned the top of his body to grind the wheels on his back into Croc Bot's jaws, at which point the energy wheels flew backwards and collided with Croc Bot's back, blowing him to the floor.
"Nice work, Bobby.", Lee said as he and the others came together. "Now let's finish this off."
But Croc Bot pulled himself up, eyes glowing red. The energy he consumed at the diner flowing through his body, powering him up to use his ultimate attack. This was being observed via the city surveillance system by Technorg via their modification gadget. "Let's see what the might of Machine and Mafia combine to create.", they commented, adjusting their goggles.
The charged up Croc Bot fired beams out of his mouth, which latched onto everyone's feet, giving them metal sandals. "Are these… crocs?", Lee asked, confused.
"Not just ordinary crocs.", Kit realised. "They're magnetic boots. We can't move over anything made of metal. Which suffice to say, is practically everything."
George tried to shoot the magnetic boots off, but to no avail. "And they're indestructible. Which is just great.", he sighed.
"You're telling me, blue boy.", the figure noted as he took out his phone and an item similar to what Lee had picked up after he dropped it, only this one was silver and had a stylised "g" as its insignia. "Engine Cell, activate!" He pulled a handle off the top of the phone, inserting the Engine Cell before closing it, striking a pose. "RPM, Get In Gear!" He reached for a golden button above the keypad.
The sound of the cry could be heard by the combatants, along with revving engines, of whom Croc Bot seemed be angered by it. "What's got his teeth in need of grinding?", Anna asked.
As if on cue, a new figure leapt into the fray, launching a roundhouse kick that knocked the robot back. "Looks like you guys need a helping hand.", he commented. They could see that he was in a red suit, with cuffs on his gloves and boots resembling tires, a silver strap on his body resembling a seatbelt that plugged into an identically coloured belt with a gun hanging from it, a helmet with a triangular visor, a beak and a pair of headlights that resembled eyes. And to complete the look, he had a familiar emblem on his chest. "I take it you're the owner of this.", Lee said as he pulled out he Engine Cell he had procured. "I think you'll be needing it."
He then threw the item back to its original owner. "I was looking for this.", he commented as he placed it in a pocket of his belt. "Ok, it's been a few years since I've done this, but… Time to get in gear!"
The Star Kats, watching from the sidelines, were shocked by the newcomer. "Another Ranger?", Grillion said with shock.
"So soon after the last one?", K.P gulped.
"And he's already swappin' goods wit the other Rangers.", Meowbile gasped.
"We're totally screwed.", all three said dejectedly.
The new Red Ranger summoned his weapon. "Street Saber!"
"Be careful.", Lee cautioned. "If he gets a pair of magnetic boots on you, then it's over."
"Don't worry, I've got this.", the other Red assured him. He ran forward to attack, only for Croc Bot to fire his beam again, affixing a pair of magnetic boots to him. "Okay, I may have spoken too soon." However, he was able to push forwards even with his boots. "I've faced down bigger threats than this on my worst days. Me and the other RPM Rangers. I'm not going down to a piece of tacky footwear. Croc Bot looked on in shock. "Your plan was good, but it's about 15 years too late to work on me."
"I don't believe it.", Bobby stated incredulously.
"RPM, huh?", Lee thought. "At least I can call him something."
Croc Bot tried attacking with a pair of flying clogs, which managed to hit RPM Red, before he called upon a spirit similar to the car design Lee and Mover had observed on the computer earlier to fly out and destroy them. "And that was just a taste of my Zord's power.", RPM Red declared as a small model of the same design teleported into his hand. "Let's rev it up into hyperdrive." Pressing a hidden button caused the small car to activate jets that carried RPM Red at incredible speeds towards Croc Bot. He leapt onto his Street Saber like it was a skateboard to crash into his foe, with a wheel of energy surrounding him. "Street Saber Turbo Strike!"
With Croc Bot having been sufficiently damaged, the magnetic boots disappeared. "We're free.", George said with relief.
The 5 then ran up to their new ally. "So, there's a group of Rangers called RPM.", Kit noted. "What does that stand for?"
"No idea.", was the man's answer. They then turned to see Croc Bot recovering. "Want to help finish this guy off?"
"I'm down for that.", Lee answered him. He then led everyone in doing an introduction. "Red Booster!"
"Blue Booster!"
"Pink Booster!"
"Black Booster!"
"Orange Booster!"
"Let's rev it up! Power Rangers Turbo Boosters!"
And then the special guest did his own intro. "RPM, Ranger Red!" He then performed what looked like a team pose, but without the team. "Power Rangers RPM!"
Mover was watching this from the base. "Wow, an actual Legendary Ranger. Teaming up with my guys. This is so cool."
The 6 heroes then proceeded to begin their final attack, with RPM Red taking out his sidearm. "Nitro Blaster!" He then opened a slot to insert the Engine Cell Lee had returned to him. "Engine Cell, activate!"
Croc Bot nervously placed his sword in his mouth as the Turbo Booster Rangers prepared their gun mode Wheel Sabers and Stick Axs. "RPM Turbo Obstruction Blast!" The 6 unleashed their shots and slashes at the same time, merging into a giant rainbow tinged version of RPM Red's Zord that crashed into Croc Bot as the latter fruitlessly tried to defend.
"Now!", RPM Red called out.
"And again.", Lee stated as he turned his Wheel Saber like a steering wheel. The energy blast turned around and sent Croc Bot flying into the no entry sign for real this time, destroying him.
Unfortunately, it took less than a second for Meowbile to appear. "Nice to see this guy still has energy I can eat.", he commented as he grew giant and entered his usual portal.
"Where'd he go?", RPM Red thought to ask. "And what was he doing?"
"Nothing good.", Lee answered him as he took his Morpher out. "Mover, the Zords."
In the base, the usual portal to the Hyper-Dimensional Road opened. "Sending them now.", Mover announced as he waved for the Zords to be released. "And now it's my turn." Mover assumed his Turbo Trailer form to follow after them.
"Lock In!", Lee, George and Anna announced simultaneously as they appeared in the Turbo Trailer, Blue Mountain and Pink Cruiser Zords, with the latter two being joined by Kit and Bobby respectively.
"Don't think I'll sit this one out.", RPM Red announced as he took out the small model of his Zord, inserting the Engine Cell. "Activating Eagle Racer!" The model transformed into the full sized Eagle Racer, with RPM Red landing in the cockpit and locking his Morpher into the steering wheel. "Let's go."
"4 of ya won't stop me!", Meowbile laughed as he drove on.
The Eagle Racer pulled up next to Mover. "Hope you don't mind me tagging along.", the pilot asked.
"It's no trouble.", Mover answered, to the surprise of their guest. "Appreciate the help."
"A talking Zord?", RPM Red said, bemused. "That's a new one." He drove forward and drove around Meowbile, trapping him in a cyclone that blew him round and round.
"I wasn't expecting dat.", Meowbile wheezed.
"And you probably didn't expect this, either.", Red said as he had his Zord elevate into the air, before deploying a set of wings and a pair of "feet", floating downwards to pick up Meowbile and throw him off the road.
Once more, Meowbile released his load… but this time, nothing happened. "Doesn't that normally make them big?", K.P questioned.
"Maybe it doesn't work on Croc Bot's tech.", Grillion suggested.
"I could have told you that." The three turned to see Technorg approaching, carrying the jar of green liquid. "I had no intention of keeping my promise to restore this." They shattered the container with brute strength, splashing the contents everywhere. "I simply wanted to send the Croc Bot into a situation where its device for converting human food into fuel could be put to the test." They grabbed the Overclock Key from K.P and approached the fallen remains of Croc Bot. "Now I shall use it to create an even more powerful Automobeast." They plugged the Key into the body and turned it.
But instead of the desired effect, this seemed to download a new source of energy into the Attack Bot's circuits, with spinning levers and pulleys moving by themselves, as if to cement the beginning of an Industrial Revolution. Damaged or missing circuits were repaired or replaced, as Croc Bot burst back into life and enlarged. "Yeah, it's time I took a big bite out of this town.", he announced with his restored voice.
This was witnessed back on the Hyper-Dimensional Road. "Do all your monster growths take this long?", RPM Red asked.
"They're slightly shorter.", Anna answered him. "For now, let's bust out our Megazords and beat him."
Mover assumed his battle mode, combining with the two support Zords. "Accel Booster Megazord, ready!" He materialised on Earth to do battle with the Croc Bot. "Time for some dentistry.", he declared, swinging the Screw Saber around.
"That pun was terrible and you know it.", Croc Bot commented as Mover moved in to hit him with his claw. He then kicked him backwards.
"That should gum up your works.", Lee said.
But Croc Bot recovered and attacked. "You should know the tooth hurts, and I've got plenty of em.", he announced as he fired a beam from his mouth, which added a large amount of weight to his feet.
"Not these again.", Lee said with annoyance as Mover struggled to stay stood up.
"Not all my magnetic boots are visible.", Croc Bot laughed, as he began slashing at his helpless opponent. "You're now feeling the full weight of metal in the ground." He struck with enough force to knock the Mountain and Cruiser Zords off Mover. "Looks like you've been disarmed."
"Is this it?", Anna asked, incredulous. "We're going to be done in by a robot with giant jaws?"
"Admittedly, not the worst way to go.", George agreed.
"It isn't exactly the best either.", Kit pointed out, putting his face in his hand.
"It's time for you to be crunched.", Croc Bot announced as he pointed his sword.
"I guess that's my cue." Croc Bot looked up to see the Eagle Racer emerge from his portal, accompanied by two other Zords, a lion themed bus and a bear themed monster truck. "My friends couldn't be here, but their Zords sure could.", RPM Red radioed. "Meet Lion Hauler and Bear Crawler."
"Have to admit, that's pretty awesome.", Bobby commented.
"If you think that's cool, wait until you see us combine.", Red said in response. Thus, with the lowering of a lever and a foot press to the pedal, the Zords began to change form in order to combine; Condor Racer brought out its arms again, forming the shoulders, while Bear Crawler lodged under it for the torso, and Lion Hauler formed the legs. "Vector scope, online." Finally, the head emerged from Condor Racer, bursts of flames coming out of the exhaust pipes on its helmet. "High Octane Megazord!" the Red Ranger announced, as High Octane stood together with Mover, ready to face off against Croc Bot. Its first act was dashing forward to strike Croc Bot down, before jumping to land next to its ally.
"Great, now there's two cavities I need to eradicate.", Croc Bot grumbled.
"Amazing.", Lee commented on their new ally's Megazord.
"Hey, rookie.", RPM Red's voice interrupted his reverie. "Let's work together. Me, you and your blue and pink Rangers."
"Don't have to tell me twice.", George responded.
"Let's do this.", Anna declared as she pushed her foot down on the pedal. The Blue Mountain and Pink Cruiser Zords pulled forward, as High Octane helped Mover step forward so the two Zords could tie a rope around their legs, joining them together.
"Speed and power, coming together to defeat evil.", Mover announced. The two Megazords ran towards Croc Bot as he recovered.
"Let's kick it up.", RPM Red said as he had High Octane throw a kick at Croc Bot, before turning around to afford Mover the same courtesy, before both kicked the Attack Bot in unison.
"Keep it up.", Lee said as he pushed a lever, prompting the two Megazords to leap up for a final kick before the ropes dissolved. "Now let's finish this."
"Ruh roh.", Croc Bot gulped.
"Spinning Attack!", Lee declared as the two Megazords got together to do a cartwheel attack at the Attack Bot, knocking him down again.
"Nice work.", RPM Red commented as the two robots came to a stop. "And now let's really end this." He summoned High Octane's sword, as Mover recombined with his support Zords. "Super Saber!"
"Super Screw Saber Strike!", Mover declared as he and the High Octane performed their sword strikes simultaneously, mortally wounding Croc Bot.
"I 'ate when this happens.", Croc Bot growled as he fell over and collapsed, the two Megazords standing triumphant.
Later, the Rangers and Mover were showing their guest around their base. "Is there a reason you're staying morphed throughout this?", George thought to ask.
"Call it 'personal preference'.", was RPM Red's answer. "But I still have eyes under here and I love the look of your set-up. It's a lot fancier than our set-up back home, but that's not hard when you have an inter-dimensional portal lying around to launch your Zords. Speaking of which." He took out the small item he had found and pocketed earlier. "You found and returned something of mine earlier, so I should make it a fair exchange."
Kit went forward and picked it up. "This is the module for the Lion Bus Zord.", he realised. "Where'd you find it?"
"Well after I realised I'd lost my Engine Cell, I slammed my hand against a wall in frustration.", RPM Red answered. "This fell out of a wedge in the wall. I thought it was one of mine, but my tech guy said it wasn't like anything we had. It was only when I saw you use your tiny cars to summon the big ones that I realised it was yours."
"Thanks for returning it.", Mover nodded. "That makes our job easier for when the Monster Zords finish tuning."
"Right.", RPM Red nodded. "Well guys, it's been real. But I've got to get home soon. It was tough enough getting out here on short notice." He turned to George and shook his hand. "But I will say before I go, what you planned to do back at the diner was pretty gutsy, even if it didn't play out."
"You were there when I-?" George had a realisation. "But that means you're…"
Red silenced him with a finger. "Keep it on the down low. I have a life that I can't let just anyone know about." He then walked over to the Hyper-Dimensional Road, the door opening as his enlarged his Zord and leapt into it. "Catch ya later!", he called out as he drove off. "I've got things to catch up on at home."
"Speaking of things to do at home, we have a diner to fix up.", Anna pointed out. "And Georgie boy here was in charge today."
"Aw man.", George sighed, realising that he'd forgotten something.
As the Eagle Racer rematerialised above the state of Oregon, a large, golden ship shaped like a hand with blue fins crashed into the Zord, send in it falling to the ground, with its occupant landing next to its shrunken state. "Anyone get the number of that knuckle sandwich?"
"Humour. A common coping mechanism for imminent danger." RPM Red looked up to see another Red Ranger, with a black circle on his chest, black lines on the insides of his legs, a golden gauntlet with a sword sticking out mounted on his right hand, shoulder pads resembling claw marks, a golden belt buckle resembling interlocked claws and a helmet resembling a wolf. "But don't worry, what I want from you won't hurt a bit."
"Yeah, I'm not too convinced.", RPM Red grumbled as he got up and summoned his Street Saber, running in to do battle. He locked blades with his opponent. "What Ranger team do you belong to, doggy boy?"
"I'm a wolf, to be precise.", the newcomer answered as he knocked RPM Red back and slashed at him. "And as for a team, I'm not really in need of all that noise." He opened the claws on his buckle to reveal a ring featuring the Space Rangers' Asto Megaship on one side, which he turned the main part of around 180 degrees to reveal the Red Space Ranger. "Legendary Red Ranger Form: In Space!" He inserted the ring into a slot on his gauntlet, moving his hands into a crossed position, before stretching the gauntlet out. "Power Red!" With the exception of his chest plate, shoulder parts and belt buckle, his suit transformed into that of the Red Space Ranger.
"Is that all you've got?", RPM Red asked, dismissively. "Because the Megaforce team already has the 'turn into past Rangers' gimmick."
"I do more than assume the mantles of the universe's greatest warriors.", the newcomer stated as he summoned the Spiral Saber. "I've improved on them immensely." He set the blade spinning, generating a cyclone to blow his opponent back. He then swapped rings to one featuring the Red Lion Wildzord. "Legendary Red Ranger Form: Wild Force! Blazing Lion!" Now assuming the form of Wild Force's Red Ranger, he combined the power of his gauntlet sword with the Lion Fang. "And I maintain all my usual abilities in these forms, for added power." He then shifted into Dino Fury Red. "T-Rex Fury!" He extended the blades of both his swords - the one attached to his gauntlet and the Dino Fury Blade - to wrap around his opponent, restraining him. "As I said, I prefer to do this as painlessly as possible."
"And what would 'this' entail exactly?", RPM Red asked, annoyed.
Uncatalogued power source detected!, a mechanical voice emerged from the gauntlet. "I'm collecting the powers of the universe's strongest warriors. And your presence here is convenient. It saves me the trouble of a dimensional jaunt to acquire yours." A beam emerged from the gauntlet to surround RPM Red, knocking him unconscious, as the stranger's belt buckle opened to reveal a new ring with the Eagle Racer taking up half of it. Unknown Grid energy acquired. Scan complete. As he inspected his new ring, the stranger released his unwitting captive, letting him fall to the floor as he demorphed. "You won't remember this meeting. Goodbye, Ranger Red." He then turned and vanished into a portal that opened and closed as quickly as it appeared.
