Angel

Harry sat in his dark bedroom at the Dursley's house. It was 3.am, he had not been able to sleep without nightmares of the veil for the whole holiday. Never had Harry felt so alone. The pale moonlight reflected off Harry's tears giving them a pearly glow.

//Spend all your time waiting

for that second chance

For a break that would make it ok//

'it was all my fault' Harry thought to himself. If only.if only he has used the mirror to speak to Sirius, if only he had concentrated on occlumency.

//there's always some reason to feel not good enough

and it's hard at the end of the day

I need some distraction, oh beautiful release//

Harry's tired eyes began to droop. Half formed images of a black curtain, someone holding him back, formed in his mind. Harry snapped his eyes open again.

//memory seeps through my veins

let me be empty and weightless and maybe

I'll find some peace tonight//

Looking out of the window Harry spotted the star Sirius was named after. It shone brightly in the sky, an everlasting presence.

//in the arms of the angel

fly away from here

from this dark cold hotel room

and the endlessness that you fear//

Harry turned his head at a gentle knocking on the door - strange- nobody ever came into his room, much less bother to knock. At Harry's call Remus entered. Seeing the look on Harry's face, the tears, he swept across the room and embraced the thin teenager.

//you are pulled from the wreckage

of your silent reverie

you're in the arms of the angel

may you find some comfort here//

The two parted awkwardly. Harry looked his ex-professor up and down. He noticed the even shabbier robes, the pale complexion. Remus looked tireder - older.

//so tired if the straight line

and everywhere you turn

there's vultures and thieves at your back

and the storm keeps on twisting, keeps on building the lies

that you make up for all that you lack//

Remus thought of the prophecy that Dumbledore had shown the most trusted order members the previous week. It was torture to picture this child's future. Especially when the darkness that also existed in his past was so terrible.

//it don't make no difference

escaping one last time

it's easier to believe

in this sweet madness

or this glorious sadness

it brings me to my knees.//

Harry turned his eyes back to the star. "I know. I can't take my eyes off it either" Remus whispered

Remus and Harry stood in front of the window. Remus casting a protective arm around Harry's shoulders.

//in the arms of the angel

fly away from here

from this dark cold hotel room

and the endlessness that you fear//

"Harry, no matter what happens.I'm here for you." Harry turned tear-filled eyes to his father's friend.

"Thank you."

Smiling sadly, they turned back to the window, Harry leaning his head on Remus's shoulder.

//you are pulled from the wreckage

of your silent reverie

you're in the arms of the angel

may you find some comfort here//

as the sun rose, Remus backed off and left, promising that Harry would see him again soon.

//you're in the arms of the angel

may you find some comfort here//
