Dedication: And to Red Witch, who allows many of us to use her wonderful characters.
Here's another bit of…nonsense, inspired by I Love the 80s Strikes
Back, this time 1987. I was watching it and they came to The
Princess Bride (one of the best movies of all time) and this idea hit
me. See if you agree.
"I don't see it."
"How can you not see it?"
"I'm sorry, I just don't see it."
"How can you not see it?" Todd repeated.
"I just don't see it. I'm sorry," his girlfriend said again. "You know, it would help if you explained it to me."
"Think about it. He's her willing slave. She can treat him like dirt time and time again and he just rolls over and takes it."
"Okay, I can see it now," Althea declared, the argument sounding more than logical.
"There are definitely some similarities," Fred agreed.
"Yeah, if she wanted it, he'd gladly kill himself for her," Wanda added. "It's really sad."
"It's more than sad, it's pathetic," Xi voiced.
"Do I even want to know what you guys are talking about now?" Lance asked warily as he entered the living room with Pietro. He knew that whatever they were talking about it was probably something exceedingly silly.
Unfortunately, so did Pietro. "I want to know. Tell me, tell me, tell me."
"We were just playing a game," Xi explained.
"We were trying to figure out which fictional character we are all like," Fred continued.
"And we have you pegged, Lance," Althea laughed.
"I don't even want to know," he groaned.
"You know you do," Pietro Grinned. "So who is he?"
"He is Westley from The Princess Bride," Xi answered.
"What? Why did you choose him for me?"
"I thought you didn't want to know who you are?" Pietro questioned.
"I didn't, but, as usual, I was too stupid to leave the room," he sighed. "Why him?"
"Because he was a real pushover for Princess Buttercup just like you are for Kitty," Todd said.
"I am not that bad," Lance defended.
"Face it, you're her devoted slave," Pietro agreed.
"It is very pathetic," Xi again stated.
"I am not!"
"Yes you are."
"Why do you guys always pick on me and Kitty?"
"Because Kitty's a ditz," Althea supplied.
"She's annoying," Pietro added.
"She's an X-Geek," Wanda pointed out.
"And don't forget," Fred said, "that she's playing both you and Peter."
"You may be the most pathetic creature alive," Xi voiced.
"You're stupid over her, yo," Todd finished.
"I am not stupid over her!" Lance huffed.
It was at that point that Shipwreck stuck his head into the room. "Lance, Kitty's on the phone for you."
"Kitty?" Lance asked with a goofy, lovesick grin on his face before he left to get the phone.
"Point and match. Can I call them or what?" Todd asked before
they all pealed into laughter.
