Hey all…this is my very first fanfic…=].  It takes place a couple months or so after the end of the game.

It's just a short, sweet ficcie…enjoy

The sky was a dark, Prussian blue color with stars ornamenting the sky.  The moon was shining silver as the moonlight descended upon to people on a balcony at Balamb Garden.  There was a woman with ebony hair leaning against the railing of the balcony, her sienna eyes staring out into the horizon, and a brunette man leaning against the wall, his cobalt eyes also looking out towards the horizon.

Neither of the people spoke for a while, just enjoying the serenity of the environment around them, but then the woman spoke.

"Hey Squall, do you think I'm pretty?"

He answered her, "No, I don't."

Rinoa was hurt a little at this comment, but she didn't try to show it and asked another question, "Do you want to be with me forever?"

Squall answered her again, "No, I don't."

Again, Rinoa was hurt, but she asked yet another question, "Would you cry if I walked away?"

Squall closed his eyes and breathed out a long, slow breath.  And he answered, "No, I wouldn't."

Rinoa couldn't take it anymore.  She felt a tear slide down her cheek, and started to cry because of her sadness.  After all that they went through together, she thought that Squall loved her as much as she loved him, but after this conversation, she was heartbroken.  Rinoa wiped her tears and started to walk away.

"Okay, I'm gonna go back to my dorm now."  She tried to walk past him, but Squall held her arm as she was walking by.

"Rinoa, listen to me carefully."  He looked at her face intently and Rinoa looked into his eyes and tried to force her tears in.

"I don't think you're pretty, because you're beautiful.  I don't want to be with you forever, I need to be with you forever.  And I wouldn't cry if you walked away, I would die."

Rinoa started to cry, not out of sadness, but out of joy that the man she loved, the man that saved her from damnation, the man that defined her life, loved her back just as much as she loved him.

She smiled, and the two people embraced each other in a tender, loving kiss as two shooting stars streaked across the sky.
