Disclaimer: I don't own 'em.

Author's Notes (AN): Hiddy-ho! I'm back with more! I bet you all missed me bunches of oats. Toasted wheat. So anyways, I'm finally doing the sequel and I promise to get on my other WIPs soon as well. I apologize for my absence, first and foremost. Schooling and holidays have gotten in the way of the more important things. ^.^ So read and hopefully enjoy and hopefully review. Thanks!

IMPORTANT: Continuation of Forty Days and Forty Nights. Read first or you will NOT understand. Seriously go read it, please. It's not that long and it's a decent story. You'll like something in it at least, I promise. So go. Shoo.

Story begins in the middle.

"I taught them to compose And collect into unity what is fragment in man, And riddle and fearful chance; As composer, riddle-reader, and redeemer of chance, Did I teach them to create the future, And all that hath been- to redeem by creating."

Prologue: Asher's Truth

"You think Eli was my father? Well, you're wrong about that. When you were ten you tried to steal food from a Niet household.what happened to you?"

".They got us."

"You and Eli?" Trance asked softly.

"They did experiments on you. Correct?"

"Yes.Why are you asking me this?"

"Because my father, Eli, when he was taken, you were unconscious most of the time, he said. They did things to you. He heard them talking about making clones of you."

"Why would they make a clone of a kludge?"

"Because you were smarter than them. Instead of hiring others or taking over new worlds they could just make a bunch of Harpers to work for them. When Eli was taken by the raiders he told them what he knew. They made a clone. They made me, and they forced him to raise me. To see if I would survive like you had or if you were just a flunk."

"So you really are my son?"

No one spoke for a moment as this information was absorbed.

".Why do you hate me?"

"You think your life was so horrible. When it is nothing compared to what I have endured! I have lost the one person I ever truly loved.the one person who ever truly loved me in return."

"And you blame me?"

"Who else should I blame?!!" Asher practically screamed before taking a deep breath to calm himself.

"..How about the people that actually did this, the Neits. I didn't do this. I didn't capture and perform experiments on myself you know. I didn't do the cloning. It's not my fault! Stop blaming me for your bad luck!"

Asher looked down and sighed. "What would you do in my place?"

Harper looked at him, his face hardened, "I'd want revenge."
