A/N: Um. I really thought I'd never write Zabuza/Haku (they're too EASY to pair, dammit, it's just not as much fun as dragging a kicking and screaming Neji and a panicky Hinata together and locking them in a closet with a plot device!). Then I read vertigo2120's "Memories." It's a little drabble, for those who don't know. 100 words and that's it.

Damn you, vertigo, damn you. Don't I have enough OTPs?! *weeps* I don't WANNA 'ship people with a tragic fate! *ignores obsession with ShikaChou and SasuNaru for sake of arguement*

Anyway . . . *sighs* Zabuza/Haku. 100 words.

"Dying In Reverse"

*

*

Everyone dies eventually, whether violently or peacefully. Some die spiritually years before their bodies ever give out.

Because dying is the easiest thing in the world. It's being born that is the hard part. It's easy to finish a thing or throw it aside, but beginning it- gathering that much strength as to get up and start something no one else has ever dared to . . .

Being born is always a painful thing. But it is also a precious thing, because it means you have a soul, a purpose.

Zabuza was the person who helped Haku find that.
