Summary: Frodo feels lost and alone in the darkness as the weight of the ring bears down on him. He struggles to remember what his life was like before he set our on his quest.

Disclaimer: I own none of the characters but the poem alone. A few of the lines belong to Peter Jackson too.

Authors Note: This poem (and the one that will come after it soon, from Sam's point of view) was written based on a small part from the film. Here is the extract for you:

Frodo: I can't recall the taste of food. Nor the sound of water. or the touch of grass. I'm naked n the dark. There's nothing...Now veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can see him with my waking eyes.

Sam: Then let us be rid it, once and for all. Come on, Mister Frodo, I can't carry it for you but I can carry you.

Naked in the Dark

Sam don't leave me

Leave me here alone

I don't like this place I'm in

But I can't remember home

I don't recall the taste of food

Or the sound of water sweet

I don't remember the sun shining

Or the grass beneath my feet

I don't remember happy day

Or days filled with light

I'm naked n the dark now

There is no hope in my sight

There is nothing to protect me

No veil from the wheel of fire

I have struggled on for so long

But I can climb no higher

I see him everywhere I look

No matter what I do

I see him in every living thing

Sometimes he is in you

So Sam please don't leave

Leave me here alone

I can no longer stay in this place

Sam please take me home
