A/N: Sephi IS mine and he always will be lol!! You cant have him! Ruby is mine too!

Ruby Jade Electra looked in her mirror. She was ready to go to the Arena and fight in the Hades Cup but she wanted to make sure everything was perfect first. Her breastplate was strapped on carefully, with the crest of her father Hades engraved on the chest. It had been a present for her eighth birthday, when she told him she wanted to learn to fight like a man.

"Go sew something. I have enough men already," Hades had said.

"But I'm going to be better than they are," Ruby said.

"Then don't get stabbed like a punk bitch," Hades had said, and given her the breastplate that molded perfectly now to her womanly shape.

Her thick burgundy hair flowed in waves down to her knees and sparkled in the sunlight coming through the window of her room. She had never let anyone cut it. It was her favorite part of herself, since where others saw flawless skin and a taut, smooth body tanned from training in the sun, Ruby saw ugliness. She looked out the window and slowly blinked her crystal green eyes, which were flecked with gold. Her short golden silk skirt fluttered in the breeze, showing off the muscular curve of her bottom.

With a sigh she swept out of her room and down the wide black marble staircase of her father's mansion to her front door. She knew how things were going to end. She was too strong. There was never any challenge. Her father had been promising to marry her to the winner of the Hades Cup for years now, and she always won.

I'll never be happy, Ruby thought to herself as she made her way to the arena. I'm always alone. No one understands me—they look at me and see a warrior princess, but inside I'm just a girl…

What would they say if they knew I'd rather just be a farmer's daughter, without my father controlling every part of my life? I don't want to be a princess, I just want someone who will love me for me…someone who will look into my eyes and understand!

The crowd was already gathering near the arena, and lining up for tickets. Ruby trudged past them to the combatants' entrance, followed by many pairs of eyes. Every male in line watched as she walked past on elegant long legs tied up in sandals, her full bosom shining radiant in its breastplate and her burgundy hair sweeping along behind her like a watercolor stroke. She paid no attention to them. She already knew how everything was going to turn out. The guard at the gate scrambled to get out of her way and to open the gate for her.

"Princess Ruby," he said. "Good luck in the Cup today!"

Tears made her clear green eyes sparkle like diamonds and emeralds as she entered the arena. She was going to win again. It was horrible.
