God's Child

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. Genesis 4:15

He was God's child
Who bore eyes of bright gold
Born pure and sinned into this hated world
And he would come to be cursed for eternity

Hope abandoned him at youth
And Love whipped him with its vengeance
The child was cast into the Inferno
His soul lost in a bitter battle

And he found his wings and flew
Desperately trying to break free
Of a cold plasticine mold
Which so held him firmly

The sand in the Hourglass
Dripped in an inevitable dread
And the Lord said unto him
But he was already cursed

A forgotten soul
Trying his best to crawl away
From the misery and the pain
But Fate refused his success

Anguish lavish him with affection
Yet he called out for Hope
But none would hear his cries
Not even the demon he was named

And the Lord did not embrace
This forgotten child of sin
Left shivering in the wake of Hades
Weeping for our lost humanity

Cruelty seem to follow him
Like a dog to his master
And he could not shake his cruel fate
Nor could he find the love he craved

When he found his happiness
He tried his best to lock it away
Guarded in a sweet bird cage
It was inevitable it would fly away

He was God's child
No matter how much pain unto him
He was the true savior of humanity
Who unto all our suffering

Author's Note: To say the least, I was shocked when I found out about Riff-senpai's betrayal to Cain. I think I was a little disappointed I didn't see this coming. After all, every single one of Kaori Yuki-sensei's mangas seem to be like this. She's as twisted as I am. The ending was spoiled for me by my cruel and evil editor, Tsubasa-senpai. *glare* This was written quite a while ago, but was too lazy to put it up till I read Nikkler-san's fic "Broken". This is another one of Jia-neechan's depressing and angsty poems. -_- I have issues. I'd love to go see a shrink. Yuki-sensei needs to see one too. Anyway, I hope I was able to capture the essence of this fic. Read and review, onegai.

Dislcaimer: I don't own Count Cain. It is the property of Kaori Yuki's sadistic mind. However, I do own the rights to this poem, so back off!

Dedication: I dedicate this fic to my pillar of sanity, Ames-senpai. ^^;
