This was not good; Kurt saw that right away. The one question he had was why the hell did Werner give his people away? He narrowed his eyes as the leader of the Gestapo handed Werner a bag. Of course it was gold, gold was much more important than the lives of his fellow Romani!

Kurt let out a feral snarl, his fangs bared as he pulled on the chains on his ankles and wrists. He let out a startled yelp as a club struck him on the side of his face.

"Keep your threats to yourself, demon spawn!" Werner laughed. "At least I was smart enough to join the winning side!"

Narrowing his eyes, Feur let out a large burst of fire, setting one of Werner's pant legs on fire. "You sold out your people to the Gestapo, Werner! Everyone will know about this and you will never be welcomed by any other Romani!"

A gunshot rang out and Feur fell to the ground, blood pouring from the new hole in his head.

"There will not be anymore Romani when we are finished!" the captain of the Gestapo sneered down at the body. He looked back up at the others and he snapped an order at one of the officers, telling him to pick which ones would go to the showers and which would go to the furnace.

Kurt narrowed his eyes; his tail lashing back and forth rapidly, cracking a few times like a whip. If only he could teleport, he would at least be able to help a few get away, but a collar around his neck prevented him from this.

His thoughts were interrupted when he felt the person behind him shivering slightly. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Jimaine hugging herself.

She met his gaze and she looked at the ground, blood caked hair falling into her eyes.

"I'm scared."

Kurt gently snaked his tail around her waist, giving her a gentle hug as he whispered, "I'm right here with you. I won't let them separate us, Jimaine."

She lifted her head and she smiled a bit, kissing his cheek faintly.

"That one, the woman will go to the showers. The demon will be brought to Hauptmann Englande."

Kurt spun around to the officer and he shook his head, his tail taking a tighter hold on Jimaine.

"No! You are not taking her!" he hissed, baring his fangs.

When the Gestapo started for her, he lashed out wildly and gouged out the eyes of one officer before he was overpowered and beaten.

Jimaine lunged forward to try and get to Kurt. "Kurt! Leave him alone!" she shrieked as two men grabbed her and started to drag her away. "Kurt!"

"Jimaine!! Jimaine!" Kurt howled, holding out one bloody hand.

Pulling out his pistol, the captain aimed at Jimaine. "Enough of this!"

A shot rang out, and Kurt screamed. ***
He awoke with a start, his body trembling and covered in sweat. Kurt looked around his room and he sighed sadly, placing his head in his hands.

"Kurt?" Kitty popped her head in from the floor, moving swiftly into the room completely.

Kurt looked up at her and he winced at her shaven head and star branded on her brow.

"You dreamt about that night didn't you?" she asked, sitting down beside him.

"Yes, I saw it happening again." He said softly, resting his head on her shoulder.

She ran her fingers through his short hair, sighing softly. "It will get better, Kurt. I'm sure it will."

It never did, but it was worth a try.
