Time Bomb

Summary: He was a time bomb, but when he went off everyone would be surprised.

He never really was anything.  They all tried to tell him he was. That he was important to their little group.  He knew it wasn't though and as he watched all his friends grow more powerful he became more angered.

Tick, tick.

He was happy for them of course. He just wished that he could be something.  He was a nobody, as his father told him every chance he got.  A screw up was all he every could be.

Tick, tick.

He proved that by messing up every relationship he every had.  He couldn't be happy with what he had.  He always wanted more, thus making sure that he could never be happy. 

Tick, tick.

He wasn't taken out on patrols anymore.  What could he do besides get knocked out?  He was a liability to the group, and no matter how many times they denied it; they all knew it was true.

Tick, tick.

Each day he was sure he was growing more and more useless.  He was positive that one day he would be kicked out on account of getting in the way. 

Tick, tick.

He would have thought that by hanging out with superhero's he would have picked up some powers, but nope nothing for him.  One day though he was going to get his.  It was inevitable.

Tick, tick.

He would show them all that he could be something.  He was sure of that.  He was a time bomb, but when he exploded they would all be surprised. 

Tick, tick.

"Xander"

"Huh" he said coming out of his daze.

"Could you hand me that book?" Giles asked pointing to the ancient looking book right next to Xander.

"Yea sure" He said picking it up and passing it across the table.
