Arg! The plot bunny attacks again. Except this time, it's a bit scary and a lot more involved. laughs here it goes! I was in 'Babes in Arms' just recently, which is why I used that one...not to mention it's an OLD play, so it would have actually been around then too! 500 words exactly.

James nearly spit his pumpkin juice out at this newest excuse of Lily's to not go with him to Hogsmeade. "You want me to WHAT?"

Lily smiled, an evil glint coming to her eye. "I want you to join the drama club. We're putting on a show, but we don't have enough guys to do it." At this she turned and looked at Sirius, Remus, and Peter as well. "If you, and your friends, agree to be in the play, then I'll go with you to Hogsmeade."

James's jaw dropped. Peter was standing behind Lily, frantically shaking his head and mouthing 'No Way!' but either James didn't see, or didn't care.

"What's the show?"

"It's called 'Babes in Arms', it's a musical, so you'd have to sing. But it's a really good show. Written by Rogers and Hart, before Rogers and Hammerstein wrote 'Cinderella'. It's a really good show.."

"You said that." Sirius chimed in, grinning.

"And that's a line in it! Act 2, scene...3." Lily said, getting excited. "So, will you do it?"

James nodded dumbly, Sirius grinned and nodded enthusiastically. Remus took his cue from Sirius and shrugged. Peter finally sighed in defeat.

"Ah, bloody hell. Why not?"

"Great!" Lily nearly leapt in the air for all the excitement. "Auditions are Saturday and 2:00 in the Great Hall. Don't be late!" She turned to leave before suddenly coming back and kissing James on the cheek. "And I'll see you in Hogsmeade next Saturday."

James turned scarlet and smiled like an idiot for the rest of the day.

-Later that day-

"Sirius, what're we getting into here?" Remus asked as the two of them relaxed under the oak tree on the grounds. James was still off in Lily- land and Peter was...somewhere.

"What, the play?" Sirius asked, propping himself up on his elbows to see Remus.

"Yes, that. I mean, none of us have ever done drama before, and drama guys are generally considered to be a little..." Remus hesitated, unsure of how to say it. Sirius's face split into a mad grin.

"You mean, a bit...poufy." He stated, the grin widening.

Remus turned bright red. "Yes. That." He was staring up into the branches of the tree. Sirius gently pulled him over so that they were facing each other. He gently brushed the hair out of Remus's eyes, it was always determined to fall there, but Sirius was always more than happy to move it.

"And that, for me, dearest Moony, is entirely the point." He whispered softly before pulling Remus into a loving kiss there beneath the cover of leaves and the falling sun.

The sun fell slowly and another couple sat in Gryffindor Tower, smiling at the lovebirds.

"You know they've been together for ages Lils, there's no point in this anymore." James said gently.

"But still, I can't help playing matchmaker sometimes!"

"Ah, well, but you did a good job on us too." James remarked softly before pulling her into him just as Sirius had done.
