AN: Thanks for all the kind reviews. I'm just kinda doing both of my fics at the same time right now, writing in whichever one I feel like writing at the time, so please bear with me for a moment.

Luna Lovegood had just finished her dinner when she saw Harry Potter enter the Great Hall and hurry to the Gryffindor table. He sat down unceremoniously next to Ron and Hermione, who immediately looked at him and started talking, probably asking questions.

She stood up and made her way to the Gryffindor table for a bit of conversation before she left for her Common Room.

As she approached the table, she heard Harry say to his friends with a dismissing tone, "I told you; I was out on the Pitch and I lost track of the time."

Luna, for one, knew that this wasn't true, as she had been outside following Feathered Swine tracks and had passed right through the empty Quidditch Pitch. She didn't say anything as she stood behind Harry waiting to be noticed, as she was sure Harry would only lie for a reason.

It was Ron who noticed Luna's presence first. Luna smiled inwardly as she noticed the familiar flash of distress that appeared at the same time as Luna for over his face right on time. She knew Ron thought she was quite odd, as did the rest of the school, but she had always enjoyed Ron's rather blunt facial expressions.

Harry turned around to see what Ron was gaping at and he smiled with a short greeting as he saw Luna standing there. "Good evening, Harry," she said with a smile, then added, not wishing to be rude, "You also, Hermione, Ronald."

Ron nodded distractedly and Hermione briefly smiled in return.

"You really must try the potatoes, Harry," Luna informed him, gesturing towards the mashed potatoes. "They're even more exquisite than usual tonight."

Luna was watching Harry and caught the private smile that flitted across his face. She had no time to dwell on it, however, before Harry interrupted her thoughts by thanking her. She didn't mind, though.

Luna shook her head as she entered her dormitory. It was only halfway through October and her fellow Ravenclaws were already running out of things to hide from her.

This time they had taken one of her boxes of old Quibbler issues. She didn't really mind as she had not real need for them and she'd get them back later anyway.

She reached back and took the list of her missing items from her pocket to add the magazines (she had kept the list in her side-table drawer, but then it had been hidden also).

She thought the other Ravenclaws' tactics to be trivial, but she could understand that they were human and had their own special reasons. Besides, it's not as if they were really hurting anyone.

"While you're at Hogwarts, your house will be like your family," she repeated Professor McGonagall's words out loud to herself mindlessly as she slid the list back into her pocket.

As long as they never took her bottle-cap necklace or OFRA initiation blanket, she wouldn't be bothered by it. The necklace was the only thing she had from her mother and the Organization for Finding Rare Animals was her father's and her favorite way to spend time together.

She smiled as she remembered her OFRA initiation. Father had been so proud. It was true that Luna missed having her mother's female influence around, but she loved her father dearly and enjoyed spending time with him.

Thinking about her father compelled her to get a quill and parchment out and write to him, so she did.

Greetings Daddy!

School is going wonderfully, studies in particular. I got points for Ravenclaw in both Transfiguration and Charms for reading ahead and knowing a few spells before they were taught. My friend, Ginny, and I have been studying up a storm (not a real one, though. Don't worry) every day, trying to prepare for O.W.Ls. I must say, I'm very excited about Spring exams!

In regards to your last letter, I'm still not sure if the D.A. is starting up again. I'll be sure to ask Harry the next time I see him and I'll ask about doing a new article also.

Speaking of the magazine, how did your search in the back meadow go? I actually saw some Feathered Swine tracks in between the lake and Quidditch Pitch earlier today. The tracks disappeared mid-Pitch. I wonder if 'Little Oinkey' decided to go play a bit of Quidditch! I'm just joking, Papa; everyone knows Feathered Swine can't fly! Well, I must be going. Adieu!

With love, your daughter,

Luna

Luna sealed the letter, addressed it, then stood up to make her way to the Owlery.

Luna was in the main hallway when she saw Harry with Ron and Hermione again. Ron and Hermione were talking softly to each other while holding hands. Harry appeared to be ignoring them, giving the appearance of studying the wall intently. It was obvious, however, that he was actually listening to the couple's conversation, as the annoyed look showed on his face clearly. None of the other people passing Harry seemed to notice, as no one stopped to say anything.

Luna smiled as she approached the trio. "Hello again, everyone. I'm just on my way to the Owlery to mail a message to Father…" Reminded, she turned to Harry. "By the way, do you think the D.A. will be starting up again this year? Father wanted to know. He's quite impressed with you, you know," she informed him with an admiring smile.

Ron and Hermione both looked at Harry strangely. Luna was glad to see, but pretended not to notice that Harry was ignoring his friends' strange looks as he answered her.

"I really don't know yet, Luna. I'm going to be talking to Dumbledore about it later on. And maybe Furgely will help also." He opened his mouth to say more, but suddenly stopped talking. Luna repressed an exasperated sigh as she noticed him glancing towards Ron cautiously.

"Well, I'll talk to you later, Harry. I really must be getting this letter to Father. Auf Wiedersehen!"

Luna smiled as she walked away, imagining the strange looks she was gaining behind her. Luckily for her, she had memorized ways to say goodbye in ten different languages during Summer Vacation.

AN: I know it was short… I just decided to switch between Harry's and Luna's POV every other chapter. So, some chapters might be short, and some might be long… I'm still doing Troubled Waters. I'm just a bit stuck at the moment… R/R and tell me what you think.
