Disclaimer: I own nothing, the song is by Amy Lee and Seether and it's called Broken.

As Buffy stood at the edge of the crater that was formally Sunnydale and thought of the people she had lost in the battle her stomach turned. So many potential slayers had died in the battle, along with Anya and. Her throat chocked up as she thought of Spike. She had lost him too. She had loved him and he didn't believe her. The tears started to flow down her cheeks.

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I want to hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I want to hold you high and steal your pain

She didn't know how she was going to be able to walk away from the giant hole. But she had to. There was nothing left there. As Buffy began to turn around she saw something out of the corner of her eye. 'It's nothing Buffy, just walk away,' Her brain said but her heart told her to go back.

'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel light when you're gone away

"Oh My God," Buffy gasped. A hand was clawing itself out of the rubble. A hand that Buffy knew so well. Spikes. She rushed to the hand that was protruding from the ground, falling to her knees when she got close. She began to dig at the dirt and rock that was surrounding it.

"Spike," She whisper when his body emerged, pushing through what was once his rocky grave.

"Yeah, luv it's me." Spike chocked dust filling his lungs, "Did we win?"

"We did." Buffy said wrapping her arms around Spike, crying into his shirt.

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I want to hold you high, you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I want to hold you high and steal your pain

Suddenly Buffy pushed back from Spike, "How are you in the sun?" she asked.

"Not really sure, pet. The light cleansed me. I could feel it. It dusted the demon, I thought I was gone, but I'm back new and improved." Spike explained.

"I thought you were gone, too." Buffy cried, "I didn't know what I was going to do without you. There was so much that I wanted to say to you but you wouldn't listen."

"Shh, pet, I'm here now and I'm never leaving you." Spike said pulling Buffy into a hug.

"We should go back to the bus." Buffy said rubbing her eyes, "The others are waiting for us. A lot of the potentials need medical attention and others just want to get out of here."

"I don't blame them," Spike said draping his arm over Buffy's shoulders, "Buffy?" Spike asked.

"Yeah." She said turning her attention to him.

"I'm sorry about early, down in the cave. I didn't," Spike started but Buffy put her finger up to silence him.

"I love you, Spike. Even if you didn't believe me, I had to tell you that before you," Buffy trailed off, "I love you." She finished leaning up to kiss Spike.

"I love you too, pet. Don't know what I would do without you." Spike said before the reunited couple entered the bus.

'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

A/N: I did an angsty story about Buffy after Chosen and I wanted to do a happier one and this is what happened. Don't know how I feel about it. How do you feel about it? Let me know.
