Greg Weisman's the genius behind Gargoyles, not me.

The large statue cracked and revealed a lavender gargoyle. He stretched before observing his surroundings. He noticed Elisa further down the beach and grew curious.

"Go play with Bronx," he told his daughter before walking towards his friend.

"Elisa? What's wrong?" Goliath wondered as he watched the detective pace back and forth on the beach. The raven-haired woman appeared to be angry.

"What's wrong? I want to go back home. I miss the guys and I miss Cagney and I miss New York." She kicked the sand angrily before staring out towards the horizon, its purple color fading into darkness.

"Me too, Elisa." He went over to where she stood and held her hands. "I miss the clan as much as you do. But Avalon sends us where we need to be, not where we would like to go."

"I don't care about Avalon!" She turned away from the towering gargoyle and looked down to where Angela was playing fetch with Bronx. She smiled slightly before the tears began to fall.

"Elisa. We can't give up. I won't let you."

After a pause, she sighed. "We're in Hawaii."

"Hawaii?" The words rolled off Goliath's tongue awkwardly.

"It's one of the top vacation spots in the world. As a kid, I always dreamed I'd come here with my husband for my honeymoon..."

Goliath stared at Elisa curiously, admiring her honesty.

Elisa finally looked up at him and snorted. "Some honeymoon, huh? I've got two gargoyles and a garg beast accompanying me. The only one who could possibly..." Suddenly she blushed and refused to look at Goliath.

"What are you talking about, Elisa?"

"Nothing. Nothing important," she uttered quickly. "I'm just blabbing."

Goliath grew silent and looked at the reflection the moon cast onto the ocean. It reminded him of a time with his Angel of the Night, before she became Demona. They had spent an evening staring at the sky, cradled in each other's arms.

He then thought of Elisa. What were these feelings inside him? He felt more than friendship towards this human. Could it be love?

"What about love?" she asked him curiously.

"I didn't say anything," he defended.

"Yes you did, Big Guy. I couldn't make it all out, but I heard the word 'love.'"

He stumbled over his words. "I... didn't say... I... what I said was... uh... dove! I said dove! I said the moon was as white as a dove!"

Elisa couldn't help but grin at Goliath. He was so cute when he tried to lie to her. It was one of the things she loved about him... Love? Did she really love Goliath?

"Goliath?" she cried.

He grabbed her hands and looked into her tearful eyes. "What is it, my Elisa?"

"I... I think I love you."

"I love you too, Elisa," he smiled, caressing her black hair gently with his talons.

They kissed under the moonlight, the moment feeling like eternity to them.
