"Mommy, why do you keep this book around?"
"That's just my scrapbook, honey."
"Scrap, scrap, scrap. Mommy, What's a scrap book?"
"It's a collection of memories. Little pictures of what life was like when you were a little baby."
"Is this me?"
"Yes, honey. That is you. That's when we brought you home from your baptism in Church."
"Is that Uncle Walter?"
"Yes Here, give the book to me, lets look at it together. See, here is your Uncle Bill, and Grandma."
"Hurry, mommy, turn the page. I wanna see what is on the next page."
"Oh, is that house on fire?"
"Oh, my, I forgot I put this in here. Yes, William. That is the Pentagon building and it's on fire."
"Is that where you work, Mommy?"
"No, William, I don't work there. I showed you where I worked, remember."
"Oh. Why is the pent gone on fire?"
"Because an airplane crashed into it."
"Really? Why did an airplane want to do that?"
"Because bad people wanted to hurt other grown ups."
"Where there a lot of people hurt?"
"Yes, William. A lot of people were hurt."
"Did monsters want to hurt people in that penta, penta, penna gone? Did you make those people go to 'time out', Mommy?"
"Uh, yes, William. Those people were punished for the bad things they did."
"Mommy, are there monsters in this book?"
"No, I don't think that there are any monsters in this book."
"I don't like this book, Mommy. This is a scary book."
"Will monsters want to hurt me?"
"No, William. We talked about it before. It's Mommy and Daddy's job to punish monsters so they don't hurt you."
"Turn the page, Mommy. I want to see more pictures of me."
"Okay, but we can't look at this for much longer. I have to go make dinner. Uncle John and Aunt Monica are coming to visit."
"I love you, Mommy."
"I love you too, William."
