Just To Do

Jack stood up from the bar and took a swig of his drink before turning his attention to the guys. "Just tell me who and you'll see a master at work."

Rizzo chuckled and nudged Dave. "How bout it Mr. Christian, who's the lucky lady gonna be?"

Dave smirked and pointed to a redhead standing by the jukebox. "That one."

"Come one Dave we're not supposed to make it easy on him." Silky said laughing.

"Okay, okay… let's see…let's see." Dave's eyes scanned the bar just as a young woman walked in. She was dressed simple, just a pair of jeans and a faded t-shirt. Her brown hair was down and framed her face when she wasn't pushing it behind her ear.

Grinning Dave tore his eyes away from her and turned his attention to the guys. "How about her… the girl that just walked in?"

"Attaboy Dave." Rizzo patted his shoulder and looked at Jack. "Looks like your up."

"Just watch." Jack said as he began making his way towards the girl.

She was still standing by the door, her eyes scanning the bar, but suddenly stopped, indicating that's she's found what she's been looking for. She started walking towards the bar when Jack stepped in front of her causing her to stop suddenly before crashing into him.

"Hey, I'm Jack O'Callahan. I saw you just standing there and I had to come over." He said flashing her an award winning smile.

"Really?" she asked crossing her arms at her chest.

"Yeah... so can I get you a drink or perhaps a dance?"

"Actually I'm kinda here to see someone… sorry." She replied walking around him.

"Wait. At least tell me your name."

"Devon." He watched as she made her way to the bar. Smiling he walked back to the guys who were all smirking at him.

"What happened O.C.?"

"Shut it, she's here to see someone." The guys started laughing and Dave stood up.

"Watch this."

"Yeah, this should be good." Silky said sitting back in his seat.

They watched as Dave made his way towards her. "He's out of his mind, she turned me down."

"Hey name's Dave Christian. I saw you standing there and well thought I'd come over and say hi." Dave said leaning onto the counter beside her.

She downed the rest of her drink before turning to him. "Is that what they teach hockey players nowadays?"

"Well you know I am on the Olympic team."

"I've heard and very proud." Dave blushed some and looked over towards the guys. "Friends of yours I'm guessing?"

He nodded and grabbed her hand. "How bout a dance?"

Her face lit up as she dragged him towards the dance floor. He smiled at the guys when they passed by. She stopped and wrapped her arms around his neck as his arms found their way around her waist.

"I don't believe it." Rizzo said laughing.

"Nor do I." Jack said looking stunned. "Well guess the blind squirrel got her nut." He snorted finishing off his drink.

"And Dave's getting more then that." Silky replied pointing towards Dave and Devon kissing.

She pulled away and rested her forehead against his. "I came all the way from North Dakota just to do that."

He smiled, letting go of her waist to caress her cheek. "Glad you did."
