A/n: The song is "Just like You" By Three days grace.

IW: ( I wish) I don't know it…

She was never loved, never considered special, or worthy. Hell she wasn't even really real. They pretended she was, with birthday cakes and shattered Christmas lights, with pet-names and joined blood. They always thought they helped, always thought they knew what was best for her…they were wrong

I could be mean
I could be angry
You know I could be just like you

They expected her to be ten years old forever, expected her to play with make up and never kiss a boy. They expected no alcohol to pass threw her lips, no cigarette smoke to gather around her head, no boy to penetrate her innocence. And in the end, their need to protect her only made her press harder against the wall.

I could be fake
I could be stupid
You know I could be just like you

They never knew how much she knew, how perceptive she was. She knew a lot before they did, knew what was in their eyes before the words could pass their lips. Myabe it was her key-ness; the ability to know what others felt. A sort of empathy thing that was just unwanted as the blood in her veins.

You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you

She loved them all, each one with a passion. But they never knew how much pain they really put her threw. How their cold stares and empty words never settled her. They tried to be warm, tried to save the ltitle girl that died in the heat of the battle. The little girl that will never again be.

I could be cold
I could be ruthless
You know I could be just like you

She just wanted to be loved.

I could be weak
I could be senseless
You know I could be just like you

She just wanted to be held.

You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you

But when they tried, she pushed them away. Cause she'd never want to be like them. She'd never want to scar someone like they scarred her.

On my own, cause I can't take livin' with you
I'm alone, so I won't turn out like
You want me to

Because they never knew, that when they tried…she died.

You thought you were standing beside me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you
You thought you were there to guide me
You were only in my way
You're wrong if you think that I'll be
Just like you

Alone was how she was meant to be…and alone was how she would be…forever because she was never real.

I could be mean
I could be angry
You know I could be just like you

Because all she was, was broken Christmas lights and birthday cakes.
