Paramount owns the characters...I just manipulate them a little. Okay, a lot, but I like them better MY way! wink

Sleepover

Chakotay awakened to the sounds of Kathryn making breakfast, or trying to, and the smell of fresh coffee. He raised up on one elbow and listened, smiling when he heard her curse under her breath. The replicator was probably giving her grief again but at least there would be coffee. Moving quietly into the hall he peeked around the corner just as she took a dish from the replicator with her nose crinkled in distaste. While he didn't know what she had attempted to replicate, he was quite certain it was not supposed to look or smell like that. When Kathryn saw him standing there she smiled weakly and said,

"I hope you're not hungry."

"Well, if I was," he said as he approached and looked down at the mess she held, "that would certainly change my mind." They both laughed then he gave her a quick kiss and went to pour himself a cup of coffee. At least that was safe to consume. Kathryn replaced the dish in the replicator and instructed it to recycle, then came up behind Chakotay putting her arms around him and resting her head against his back.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked. Though they had been intimate for several weeks, it was the first time he had spent the night in her quarters.

"When I finally got to sleep, yes." he answered, waiting to see if she got his meaning. She did.

"You're terrible!" she said, pinching his middle and almost causing him to spill his coffee. She stepped past him going toward her coffee cup on the table but before she reached it, he took her arm and spun her around to face him. "And naughty." she added. Standing on her toes she kissed his dimpled chin.

"Naughty can be fun." he said as he put an arm around her waist and held her tightly. She ran her hands over his bare chest then put her arms around his neck.

"Agreed." she said softly as she looked up into his eyes. He had learned that look well over the past weeks and could not help the smile that spread across his face. How, he wondered once again, had she kept herself so distant for years when now she seemed insatiable? Maybe she was trying to make up for lost time but that was perfectly alright with him.

"We're due on the bridge in less than two hours." he said then lifted the cup to his lips, trying to wipe the smile from his face and failing.

"Your point, Commander?" Kathryn said as she took the cup from his hand and placed it on the table.

"We don't want to be late," he answered, "it might raise suspicions." He was teasing her and enjoying every moment of it. Though they had decided not to try to keep their relationship a secret, nor had they put it out for public display. As far as they knew, no one was the wiser. They were dead wrong.

"You're right." she said, extricating herself and picking up her cup. "And we wouldn't want that." she added as she stepped past him to refill her cup. Though her back was to him she could imagine the look on his face when his little game backfired.

"Of course, I could transport over and shower in my own quarters instead of waiting until you finish." he said as Kathryn began to smile to herself. "That would save some time." he finished.

"Mmmm hmmm." she said then sipped her coffee. She heard him exhale before he slipped his arms around her from behind, then leaned down and spoke softly next to her ear.

"Or we could shower together."
