Somewhere Out There

A/N: What happens if you have a bored author stuck in class when she can't do her work 'cause the computer doesn't like it, a song and an idea? ...
Well, this! Enjoy and review!

Wayne Mansion
Gotham City

He looked out at the dark sky, unable to see the sky due to the fact of the dark clouds covering the sky making the city seem more mysterious and dangerous. But only dangerous if you were upto no good for the guardian of the city, the terror of the night always stalked the rooftops and the streets of Gotham. But being a guest in the very man's home felt strange to the young metahuman from Dakota, he was here as a guest after a brief visit to the Justice League's watch tower but this time without his partner against crime.

Breathing in deeply, he moved position slightly to sit in a more comfortable position and enjoy the look of the city in the growing darkness knowing that Batman was out there in the city. He did ask if the young hero wanted to come out with him, but he refused and wanted a quiet night before going back to Dakota the next day and wondered how his partner was doing.

"Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight,
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight"
He started to sing to himself, not noticing the butler, Alfred was in the doorway.

The lone figure sucked his finger as he had hit it with his needle when sowing up the latest tear in his costume, happy that it had stopped bleeding after checking a few times, he got back to work but stopped and looked around the quiet headquaters of Static and Gear. It was too quiet, even with the beeping of different machines and gadgets it was still too quiet, it was always the same when one of them went away.

"Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer,
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there"
He sang, his quiet voice echoed around the gas station.

The figure had moved to get his costume out of his bag and started to check it for any loose stitching or any tears from the growth of his body or from battle.

"And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star" He sang, with a slight smile on his face.

"And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky" The long lad sang as he rose off the lumpy couch and placed the costume on the desk before standing in the doorway for some air.

"Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true"

The boys, unknown to each other sang together, each looking at the sky, their thoughts with one another wondering if they were ok.

It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star" The lad, now sat on one of the old petrol pumps sang, a smile on his face and his legs swinging in time with his singing.

The figure sang, his musical voice hit the high note perfectly surprising him but he continued to check his costume.

"Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true"

The boys once again sang together looking at the sky.
"Good night bro" The boys muttered together.
