Katie's sittin' on the old front porch
Watchin' the chickens peck the ground
There ain't a whole lot goin' on tonight
In this one-horse town
Over yonder comin' up the road
In a beat-up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy, he's layin' on the horn
Splashin' through the mud and the muck

Hilary sat on the swing on her front porch waiting for Kai to arrive. She saw him coming up the drive and quickly ran over to him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"Where are we going?" Hilary asked as they started walking away.

"You'll have to see." Kai replied walking next to her.

Her daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains, he got the short end of the stick
But Katie's young and man, she just don't care
She'd follow Tommy anywhere
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And even if they have to run away
She's gonna marry that boy someday

Hilary knew that her father didn't approve of Kai. (Has any girl's father ever approved of their boyfriend ever?) She knew that her father thought that Kai was dumb and never going to make anything of himself. But Hilary would follow him to the ends of the earth.

She was head over heals for him, and even if they did have to run away, they were going to get married.

Katie and Tommy at the drive-in movie
Parked in the very last row
They're too busy holdin' on to one another
To even care about the show
Later on outside the Tastee Freeze
Tommy slips something on her hand
He says my high school ring will have to do
'Til I can buy a wedding band

Hilary and Kai went to a beyblade tournament. But they were to busy making out to even care about it. Then he took her to the local hang out, Cones and Coney's©.

"Here I want you to have this until I can get a wedding band." Kai said as he slipped his high school ring on her finger.

Her daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains, he got the short end of the stick
But Katie's young and man, she just don't care
She'd follow Tommy anywhere
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And even if they have to run away
She's gonna marry that boy someday

She didn't care what people thought of it, she loved him and was going to marry him someday even if they had to run away.

Her daddy's waitin' up 'til half past twelve
When they come sneakin' up the walk
He says young lady get on up to your room
While me and Junior have a talk
But mama breaks in, says don't lose your temper
It wasn't very long ago
When you yourself was just a hay-seed plowboy
Who didn't have a row to hoe

Hilary and Kai came sneaking up to her front porch at 12:30 am. When Kai was about to leave, her father came out.

"Young lady get up to your room, while I have a talk with junior over there." Her father said.

Her mother came out of no where and said "Don't you dare lose your temper. It wasn't long ago that you were just a blader that didn't have a lot of hope."

"Sir you beybladed," Kai asked walking back over to where Hilary was standing.

My daddy said you wasn't worth a lick
When it came to brains you got the short end of the stick
But he was wrong and honey you are too
Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
What's meant to be will always find a way
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy...

"Yes and my father said the exact same thing he says about you." Hilary's mother said. "But don't you see honey; Hilary looks at Kai like I still look at you. And what is meant to be will always find away, she will marry that boy someday." She said wisely.

Her father sighed and said "Fine." Hilary was jumping in joy as she and Kai kissed.
