Title: Snap.

Author: ProlificMuse

Rating: PG-13 for brief language and boy/boy-ness

Spoilers: Tiny spoiler for the end of the series, but it's very very tiny.

Warnings: Roy's ego? (None)

Summary: Ed didn't know when he figured out the thing that annoyed Roy Mustang, that was insignificant anyway, but he did know that sometimes Mustang deserved a bit of teasing.

Notes: This is my first Roy/Ed fic to see the light of the computer screen, un-betaed, because I don't know anyone who would want to beta Roy/Ed for me, but I tried to catch any errors myself. Now I present to you: Snap.

Snap.

"Stop it, Ed, I'm trying to concentrate."

The Full Metal Alchemist grinned, curling around a pillow on Roy's couch, and watched Roy Mustang. He had come home to his former Colonel propped in an armchair, feet on the low coffee table, with a novel in front of his face. Roy had told Ed to find something to do until he finished the chapter, but Ed didn't quite feel like amusing himself.

Snap.

"Damn it, Edward, stop that!"

Ed couldn't remember when he had discovered that the simple act of snapping his fingers annoyed Roy, that was insignificant anyway, but he did know that sometimes Mustang deserved a bit of teasing, if only to repay him for all those barbs about his height. Roy had finally gotten over those, moving on to other quirks that Ed couldn't break. He teased Ed about how he purred when Roy stroked his hair, for instance. Not that Ed ever intended to stop that quirk. It made Roy too…affectionate to want to ever stop.

Snap.

"Full Metal!"

Snap.

Snap.

Roy Mustang flung his book across the room and Edward ducked.

Snap.

"EDWARD!"

Mustang leapt after Ed. Not waiting to be crushed, Ed launched himself over the couch and after the book, picking it up as he darted down the hall. Roy chased after him, swearing his head off.

Snap.

Snap.

"Edward, I swear to God if you don't stop that right now I'm going start!" Roy threatened. Ed ignored him.

Snap.

But perhaps ignoring Roy Mustang had been a mistake, Ed realized, as he struggled to remove his flaming jacket. He dropped Roy's book as he threw the jacket down and stamped it out.

"You didn't have to do that," Ed said. He looked back at Roy who was glaring at him through his one eye.

"I warned you, Edward," Roy replied. He strode forward and pushed Ed against the wall roughly. "You persisted."

Ed wished that Roy wasn't always so cool about everything. He had nearly burned Ed, his lover, into a chicken wing and yet he was as calm as before Ed had started snapping. "You still didn't have to set me on fire. What if I got seriously burned?"

Roy leaned in and licked the thin layer of sweat Ed had acquired on his cheek.

"Why does it bother you so much?" Ed asked. Roy inclined his head to suck on Ed's neck, distracting him. Mustang was a kinky one, Ed reaffirmed.

"Because it's what I do," Roy murmured against the skin of his throat. "You'll never be me, Full Metal. No one else can do what I. No one else can be Roy Mustang. People can try, but they will never be me."

Ed wanted to laugh, but Roy cut him off with a fierce kiss. Yes, Mustang was a kinky, fucked-in-the-head one. Ed was barely conscious of that thought as he brought his hand up beside Roy's ear.
