"Come on, Luke

Disclaimer: I don't own a thing.

A/n: I know it's not much. The picture looked a lot better in my head than the words do on paper.

Summary: Luke and Lorelai dance to Toby Keith's "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This"

"Come on, Luke. Please? I know you can dance. Just one?" Lorelai begged.

He looked at her. Her eyes were sparkling. He could never say 'no' to her. "Fine. But just one, got it?"

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

The pair reached the dance floor just as the current song ended.

"Oh, look at that. Oh, well." Luke turned to return to his seat, but Lorelai grabbed his arm to stop him.

"Oh, no. That wasn't the last song of the night, Burger Boy. You promised me one dance, and I'm going to get it."

Luke reluctantly gave in. It was no use telling her 'no.' She always wore him down anyway. Besides he had promised her. "Fine."

The DJ, who happened to be Lane, came over the speakers. "This song, requested by Ms. Patty, is dedicated to Luke and Lorelai."

The couple exchanged confused glances. They simultaneously looked to Patty who just smiled and gave them a little wave. They just shook their heads and wrapped their arms around each other as the music started.

"I got a funny feeling

The moment that your lips touched mine

Something shot right through me

My heart skipped a beat in time"

Slowly, they started swaying in each other's arms. They were looking at each other; both were smiling as the crowd watched them.

"There's a different feel about you tonight

It's got me thinkin' lots of crazy things

I even think I saw a flash of light

It felt like electricity"

Luke leaned down slightly and whispered in Lorelai's ear, "Let's give 'em a show."

She smiled as Luke spun her around then dipped her. Her arms were back around his neck and his around her waist. They got closer and closer until…

"You shouldn't kiss me like this

Unless you mean it like that

'Cause I'll just close my eyes

And I won't know where I'm at

We'll get lost on this dance floor

Spinnin' around

And around

And around

And around"

They parted; smiles on their faces as they listened to the music.

"They're all watchin' us now

They think we're falling in love

They'd never believe we're just friends

When you kiss me like this

I think you mean it like that

If you do baby kiss me again"

"They're all watching," Lorelai whispered.

"Let 'em watch," Luke responded.

Their lips met once again. They deepened the kiss this time, but not too much for fear of falling over.

"Everybody swears we make the perfect pair

But dancing is as far as it goes

Girl you've never moved me

Quite the way you moved me tonight

I just wanted you to know

I just wanted you to know"

Luke's hands moved from Lorelai's waist to her hands on the back of his neck. Neither's smile faded as he spun her around the dance floor.

"You shouldn't kiss me like this

Unless you mean it like that

'Cause I'll just close my eyes

And I won't know where I'm at

And we'll get lost on this dance floor

Spinnin' around

And around

And around

And around"

"So, what do you think?" Luke asked once Lorelai was back in his arms. "Are we falling in love?"

"They're all watching us now

They think we're falling in love

They'd never believe we're just friends

When you kiss me like this

I think you mean it like that

If you do baby kiss me again

Kiss me again"

Lorelai listened to the lyrics. Then, she answered Luke's question: she pressed her lips to his. They stayed like that well after the music had stopped.

In both of their minds, the same words were being said, 'Thank God we're not just friends anymore.'
