Save Me

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters… some surprise there.

The only sound in this darkness was a single heartbeat, thumping loudly against a set of strained ribs. Tears were at the corners of his eyes, his lip twitched as they begged to be freed.

Oh god… no... Not this way…

Brown eyes clenched shut, as tears leaked from the corner and down his dirty temples. In his hand, cold fingers held the glow stick, the pale green light illuminated a small area, but just enough to bring him hope. If the light faded… so would his hope. The other hand was also held tightly to his chest, a tape recorder rested upon his chest as it moved slowly up and down.

He had played it over and over… and still a question remained. Why him? Why did it have to be him? But would he have it any other way? No…

Please… someone help me…

The words lingered in his mind but never left his lips as he stared forward at his now, pathetic reflection.

Hot tears had long since left streaks down his face, cleansing the area of dirt for only a moment. His hands were bleeding from them mercilessly beating against the plastic above him. The clear plastic was splattered with crimson beautifully.

His own sobs were now the only sound, as tear drops silently met with the concrete below him. His body shock and his mind screamed to be freed from this madness but his heart… in his heart he knew he would be saved. He knew it. Any second now, the top would open; bright light spilling upon his quivering form and Grissom would have a grin on his face as he reached his arm down to save him from this hell… as he always did. A smile formed at Nick's lips and more tears ragged down his checks.

Grissom…

His eyes looked to the recorder in his hands, his finger tip shaking above the play button, but he refused to play it again. He eyed the buttons.

Record.

Could he… He moved the recorder closer to his face… he could. He bit into his bottom lip and he tried to keep his voice from shaking.

Please save me Grissom…

Nick pushed record.
