Summary: AJ muses about his night at Hard Justice. Sequel to Heart Throb
I drop my bag on the floor and sink onto the hotel room bed. Even though it is almost 1 in the morning I have too much adrenaline still flowing through my body and my mind is in too much of a jumble to be able to sleep. Tonight was a mixed and eventful night. On the up side, I achieved my goal of winning the NWA Heavyweight championship back from Jeff Jarrett after I lost it to him almost a year ago. It's an amazing feeling being champion, and even though I've been champion before, it's a feeling you never get used to or take for granted. Tag team, X-Division or Heavyweight, being a champion in each is a heady feeling and something every wrestler works and strives for.
Many of the members of my message board kept asking when I would use the Spiral Tap again and I replied when the time is right and I felt that it was fitting to go in the record books as the three time NWA heavyweight champion the same way I went into the record books as the first ever X-Division champion, with the Spiral Tap.
On the down side Jeff was suspended for no-showing tonight. He "missed his flights" and came to the arena after the pay per view was already over. I don't buy it, I mean I was able to make it on time and I flew in from Georgia. There are many speculations as to where he was, but from what I know about him, he was probably goofing off in his music trailer and lost track of time. He's done it before and missed impact tapings, but this was a major pay per view and I can fully understand management suspending him.
I was worried about him being out with an injury after the House of Fun match. My instincts were right about him being out; however, I never thought that he would be suspended for an indefinite amount of time. I know he doesn't appreciate me worrying for him, but it's just in my nature, and I learned to trust my instincts a long time ago. Of all the scenarios running in my head, this is the last one I expected to actually happen.
Justice was served in one respect tonight, but wasn't served in other respects. The last three years have been interesting to say the least and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me.
