Long ago, legend has it that a woman of great and massive power rules the universe at the times of kings and gods. The woman was known to be beautiful and strong. This woman was also terribly cruel and with that great power came an even greater responsibility. Her power was used to make the world dark, cold and abandoned by but only a few men and women who sought after change in their world. One man stood up and commanded to the cruel woman that she give up the throne as the one with massive power.
She declined and had the man killed on the spot.
The woman was very upset with all this and sent out a search to hunt and kill the remainder of the so-called "freedom band" and have them destroyed. She sought after them, one by one and one by one they were murdered until it came down to the very last being, a girl.
The girl was small, delicate and frail, but with a still, strong voice. She told the cruel woman that she couldn't stay any longer that she had to give up the throne. The cruel woman laughed at the girl's request and made a long razor materialize out of thin air. She held it tightly, with a killer's grip and made a quick move to prepare her slight technique to kill the last one.
"No?" said the woman.
"You cannot keep killing all who oppose you and you cannot keep that throne that bears the weight and blood of everyone. You will abdicate the throne."
"I don't think so!" and with that the woman raised the razor high and brought it down with a thud.
The thud resounded throughtout the land but something was amiss.
The girl still stood, arms crossed in defiance and a radiant glow surrounding her soul. Her body, yes, had been sliced in half, but her sould was so defiant that is still stood up and defended what was left of right and wrong. The woman grew and angry was said that she ran away, terrorizing the world and nature's balance. The girl's spirit chased her until the ends of the world and with her last bit of power she overcame the cruel woman's spirit and destroyed it, purified it and the girl became the woman. The woman then changed her name to Serenity, because she brought peace to the universe once again.
That is the legend of the first Serenity.
