"Amy" Felix began, breaking the silence.

"What?" she asked, turning to look at him.

"I'm sorry for being such a jerk earlier"

"No problem" she grinned. "I'm used to it by now"

"Yeah" he sighed quietly.

Again, they fell into another comfortable silence. It was dark and the only noises were the crunch of the gravel under their feet and some very noisy crickets. After a while, Felix noticed that Amy seemed to be slowing down and slightly limping.

"Amy, you alright?" he asked sincerely.

"Hmmm" she said distantly. "Yeah, It's just these shoes are starting to rub"

"Well, take them off then" he grinned.

"And walk bare foot? On gravel? I don't think so" she sighed.

"Amy, is there something else bothering you?" he asked attentively.

"No, well, yeah, I'm just really tired" she yawned.

"Which makes sore feet twice as painful" smiled Felix. "Listen, you take your shoes off, and I'll give you a piggy back"

"I don't think so" she grinned whilst still walking.

"Why not?" he asked cheekily.

"Because" was all she could think off.

"You chicken?" he asked daringly.

"No, I just don't like being carried. I'm too heavy" she yawned.

"Don't be ridiculous Amy, you're not that heavy. If I can carry Ollie, then I can carry you no problem" he smiled as he grabbed her arm to prevent her from walking off. She turned to face him as he continued.

"Besides, if I let you carry on walking, you'll get all irritable. And that isn't good for anyone" he grinned. She yawned again and looked at her feet.

"Alright" she smiled. "As long as you promise to put me down when I ask you too"

"Of course" promised Felix, crossing his fingers behind his back.
