Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they belong to J.K. Rowling. I just like to write about them.

A/N: It has been a while, but here is another Remus/Tonks one shot. Hope you like it. :-)

After all those years

Nymphadora Tonks woke up because a ray of sunlight, which came through a crack in the curtains, tickled her nose. She rubbed her nose and slowly opened one eye. The other eye followed and she blinked a few times at the bright sunlight. She yawned and stretched.

A smile moved her lips when she looked beside her. Every morning, she was surprised that he was lying there, the man she loved so much. Through the years, his light brown hair had turned even more gray. When she had met him, there had been gray streaks, what had made him even more attractive. Now there were streaks of brown through the gray, but it hadn't changed her love for him. After all those years she still loved him, maybe even more.

The wrinkles in his face made him look older than his 52 years. Every full moon, every painful transformation, seemed to have added another wrinkle. Every wrinkle was a silent witness of the torment he went through every month. But now he was asleep, and his face looked younger. He looked more like the man she fell hopelessly in love with more than 15 years ago.

She tenderly brushed aside a strand of hair. Her fingers lovingly traced the scar on his forehead. She knew every wrinkle, every scar, and yet she could look at him for hours. She loved these moments, early in the morning, when he was still asleep. When he was lying next to her, his body relaxed, and she could look at him without being disturbed.

His eyelashes, which had been resting on his cheek, quivered. She knew it wouldn't be long now before he'd wake up. Her fingers caressed his face, until he slowly opened his eyes. His amber-coloured eyes looked straight at her.

"Good morning," she whispered lovingly.

"Good morning," he answered hoarsely. He lifted his arm and his fingers got lost in her dark brown hair. She smiled as she leaned in and slowly kissed him.

"I love you," she whispered against his mouth, after which he deepened the kiss. Soon, his hands found their way over her body. That too hadn't changed after all those years. He knew her better than the she knew herself. She softly moaned as she gave in to his caresses, which still brought her to heaven after all those years.
